Rome in one day is definitely not possible but it did get off to a great start with this tour which covered two of the must see sights of Rome. Starting with the Vatican and Sistine chapel. Tip... buy the skip the queue tickets otherwise you are wasting your time standing in a very long queue and in summer heat that could be unbearable. The highlight of the tour was our tour guide Roberta, who was both knowledgeable and entertaining. I can't compliment her enough. A professional who kept checking we could hear and follow her as we went along.
The colosseum and Roman forum was again a beautiful site to see. Our guide for the colosseum was different and not as good in terms of keeping the group's attention but he was clearly interested in the history and structure of the site.
Overall a great way to start our long weekend.

This tour is done in two parts one in the morning (Vatican) and one in the afternoon (Colosseum & Palatine hill)
It was easy to connect with guides at both meeting locations as the employees wear pink vest. Lots of great information was given by both guides. Claudi our guide for the second half (Colosseum) was great. She even had photos of how the ruins looked when originally constructed. They provide you with headphones that connect directly to the guide so you can hear everything they’re saying during the tours. There is a lot of walking. About four people from the second half of the tour dropped out because they had knee and back issues so the walking was a bit much for them. I would definitely recommend this tour.

The lady from Vatican tour was lovely (Liza I think). The second lady was strange, informative and not easy to find at first(no sign, no pink thing etc.). Overall it was nice tour and I do enjoy it.

After Vatican tour, you have free time for lunch, then, you have to find your way to the next meeting point to continue the Colloseum part of the tour. Our morning guide, Beatriz, who was very knowledgeable and personable, told us it would take 15-20 minutes to get there. That day, we waited 15m for the bus, and the ride took 35m. We got there 10m after the 2:30pm start time. We looked for any tour rep for assistance, the only two we found who were still outside, and whose tour group we could have joined had there been communication between tour guides and main office, were not helpful or concerned, and sent us back to meeting point but there was no one there. We had no option but to buy a new set of entrance tickets. I understand we were slightly late, but the company needs to offer more flexibility and take into account that their clients are tourists in a foreign city, people get lost, heavy traffic, or sometimes things out of your control just go wrong. It is not fair that we pay so much money, and there was no one to assist us, not given an option to go on a later tour, maybe meet our original tour group at a determined spot. I contacted Viator and the local tour company they refused to return any part of the money, or give us another tour date, and were firm that if you are not there on time, you lose your money. I highly suggest you stay away from this tour. This two-part tour does not work, you need a tour whose guide will be with you all day and not leave you stranded hoping you make it to the next meeting point. DO NOT BUY..

We met our first guide at the Vatican and were so happy to skip the line. She was wonderful-very knowledgable about the Vatican history and artwork. We booked the lunch which was a 3 course Italian lunch at a local restaurant-the food was great and we enjoyed the company of some of the others in our tour group. Afterwards, we were taken by bus to the meeting point for the Colosseum. We met our second tour guide who provided us with a great deal of history as we toured the Colosseum, Palantine Hill and the Roman ruins. It was one of the best tours we were on. I recommend having lunch with your tour because they know the area and found a great place for us-complete with lasagna, salad, sliced pork and a creamy dessert. Perfect break from a busy morning in the Vatican. I love art and history yet, I learned so much from both our guides I was amazed at the rich history and beautiful art. Of course, the Sistine Chapel takes your breath away. It was a wonderful, amazing day and 2 weeks later we still talk about going back to see more. Our guides were so kind and wonderful, ensuring we had enough time to really take in each site. I recommend this tour to anyone that has limited time and wants to see the highlights and yes, lunch is worth being included in your tour.

This was presented as one package, but when we asked our guide about the afternoon tour she was clueless. Told us to take a taxi. We booked it as one in order to avoid the stress (and expense) of stitching them together. It cost 27 euros for the taxi, and even with that we did not have time for lunch, despite the website's claim that we would have more than an hour. This pretty much soured the afternoon.

So if I just had to review the guide i had for Vatican museum, I would give ZERO stars. Her name was Dora and she was very rude and hesitant the whole time. When people kept stopping to admire paintings she got MAD and told people to keep following her. Literally the worst experience and we were planning on skipping the Colosseum portion of the tour because of our experience with her, but LUCKILY we didn't.

Because for the Colosseum we got the BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER. Her name is Egle and oh my god she was nothing short of amazing! She knew how to tell a story, was funny and chill, and she kept us all entertained the whole 3.5 hours. She was SOO energetic and enthusiastic and you definitely feed off her energy.I learned so much from her and felt like a little kid during story time! She also gave us tips on where to eat, gelato flavors, etc. Egle is EXACTLY what you want in a tour guide. You can tell she loved her job and that's why we all loved her. We gave her a huge standing ovation at the end of the tour (especially because our morning experience with Dora was very horrible). My parents and I absolutely loved Egle as our tour guide.

I would recommend trying to find out who your tour guide is and researching them before booking.

If you only have one day in Rome, this is a must. Do be prepared there will be a lot of walking. I chose the option with hotel pick up and lunch. It will save you the headache of finding the meeting place or getting over to Colosseum after lunch. Love our guide Egle at the Colosseum. She was the best guide I had during my 8 days trip in Europe. However, the lady guide for our Vatican visit in the morning who I didn't get her name had a really thick accent. We had really hard time understanding what she was saying. Otherwise, everything else was good.
