About
Girona is one of the prettiest towns in Catalonia. Half way from the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees, located just 100 km/ 62 miles north of Barcelona. It is got an extremely well preserved old town with plenty of medieval constructions and the best preserved medieval Jewish quarter in Europe. Small alleys, cobblestone streets, palaces, ancient churches and monasteries, this is an authentic gem.

Gemma is a passionate, very knowledgeable guide, able to mix wonderful minute details of today’s life in Girona with historical stories and details that make the old town come to life. We definitely plan to go back again!

Add this tour to your Must Do list!
Oct. 2019
Well worth it! You will be guided by the excellent Gemma Coll Sabater, who will handle all the details with gracious ease. She speaks excellent English and is steeped in the history and culture of the area. She knows about its medieval past as well as its dynamic present as a mecca for cyclists in training, like Lance Armstrong. The city’s medieval quarter has narrow passageways with cobblestones that add to its considerable beauty and charm, but if you have balance issues you may want to consider putting all of your belongings into a daypack so your arms are free to use hiking poles. Visitors from North America will be pleasantly surprised by how compact, walkable, and pedestrian friendly everything is. If you want lunch, a coffee, or a snack, you’ll find plenty of restaurants to choose from. Gemma sets just the right pace, so you see all sights, like Girona Cathedral, but you never feel hurried. Be sure to add this tour to your Must Do list. It’s that good.
