Liz and Kako did an amazing job with this experience. My girlfriend and I are from the United States and wanted to do something for dinner and we highly recommend this experience. We got to meet different people from different countries and cultures, making this a great experience to be adventurous. If you want to cook, eat, and drink this is something you should do.

Paella making in the Gothic quarter
This experience was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. Our guide/chef was fabulous. The visit to the market to purchase the seafood was fun. Then we walked through the gothic quarter to a quaint dining room and kitchen where we learnt how to make delicious Sangria, were very hands on in the meal prep and then ate a delicious meal - the best paella I ever had! We then were given the recipes to try at home. The experience is one to be recommended.

      Must-do experience!’
Amazing class! our guide Jen was so knowledgeable and personable, and the chef Kako knew so much about the food and was so charismatic! Honestly a must-do experience, freshest tasting and most wonderful paella i’ve ever had and more than enough sangria to go around!

Not fun ruined a whole day of trip
We should not have been out on the water in my opinion. The waves were way too choppy for novice kayakers. At one point we lost the people Infront of us and our guide behind us. This was not relaxing at all we were not able to enjoy ourselves at all. When we finally got to the cove areas it wasnt even worth snorkeling we were so tired from paddling the waves and trying not to tip. The snorkeling was poor nothing to see and the reef area was dead. Made for a nice break to catch our breath from the extreme kayaking. Instructor yelled at a pair of foreigners who got swept up in the waves and almost hit their heads against the rocky cliffs. Scary and stressful tour would not do again.

      Wonderful evening with new friends
Cooking class is something I always try to do on vacation, but this one was special. The group was a great size and I felt like we all interacted so well with each other…and that makes the classes so much more fun. The instruction by Kiko (or Kako?) and Liz was easy to understand and the resulting paella was proof of their instructional abilities. The recipe for sangria was a bonus and “killer”! My husband certainly enjoyed the recipe once I got home☺️

Made our Barcelona day trip 100X better
We met with our chef Andrea who was kind and knowledgeable. We walked around the local food market where he purchased the fresh ingredients we would be using for our paella. We were given around 25 minutes of time to explore. We then walked to his private kitchen where we began the lesson. He started off by educating us on and making traditional sangria (which was delicious). He then walked us through the preparation required for the paella. That's when we stepped in and began to help with the cooking process. Everything was very clean and safe. The finished meal was absolutely amazing, I finished every bite. I would definitely recommend this experience to those visiting Barcelona.

      Quality food and show
Central location. Excellent buffet food. Free flowing Sangria (jug on table) and a fantastic show. Vibrant and skilled. Thank you.

Paella making with Kiko and Liz was AMAZING
This was the best experience ever. Liz (our guide) and Kiko (our chef) was so nice and made sure that we had an amazing time. The history behind paella and why it was made, as well as the history of the supermarket that we went to beforehand was unmatched. The way that the class was broken up so that there was something for everyone to do, having snacks for everyone, and the tons of sangria really made this experience exceptional. 10/10 would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

Liz and Daphne were great- so welcoming and taught us well. Highly recommend. Their friendliness as well as their willingness to answer our endless questions was also impressive.

      Paella class
Liz and Daphne the chefs were awesome. Going to the market to pick out our fresh ingredients was nice. We did the prep work and relished the end results. Sodas and water and Sangria was provided. Would certainly do it again

      Avoid this ‘experience’ in Barcelona
This is not our first cooking class but it was the worst. There were 14 in our group, in our opinion 6-8 would have been better served. We were marched to the market to buy ingredients, which we were told were the best seafood. We were left to wander, unaccompanied in the emptying market for 20 minutes before being marched (15 minutes) to the kitchen. The kitchen was nothing like the one shown in the pictures, much smaller, with no room to stand next to the food preparation for all of us and very run down. We were given Sangria and waited a long time while our host prepared in the kitchen. There were a lot of instructions on preparation, most of which could be heard but not seen as there was no room around the food preparation area. Six of us were asked to help, by stirring the paellas, preparing prawns, or chopping peppers but no other hands-on experience for any of us. A few meagre tapas dishes were offered on one corner of the food preparation area. No explanation on preparation was offered. Yet another wait, and more Sangria, (beer and lemonade were also on offer), and the paellas were served. Mine was so salty as to be inedible. The mussels were tiny and shrivelled. Only the prawns were good. Our host was enthusiastic but the group's spirits waned as the evening progressed. The whole evening was very disappointing, and it was not worth it for €69 per person. In my opinion, this was not a satisfactory “Interactive Spanish Cooking Experience”.

      100% Worth It! Lovely Experience!
Our guide Liz and our chef Daphne made this an incredible experience! I signed up solo and met another solo traveler there, but we also bonded with all of the other group members as well. It very quickly became a fun, communal experience to cook the paella together, and enjoy snacks and sangria along the way. I learned so much from Liz and Daphne, and the location/view from the kitchen could not have been more gorgeous!

Extremely disappointing … the guide was totally disinterested, first stop we were given food (not very good food either) and some vermouth and then left at a table for 30 minutes, as the guide wandered off checking his phone. Then we were told we’d need to wander around for a while as the earlier group hadn’t left the next restaurant …two stops had great food, I didn’t like the tiny fried fish nor did I want to try the rose after someone in the tour group had mistakenly let the glass pouring receptacle that we were asked to share touch her mouth. The food in the two sit down restaurants was really nice and the group became more friendly so it was fun but the guide just left us to it after delivering the food. I’ve been on a lot of food tours in different cities and always enjoyed them. .. sadly this one wasn’t worth the money.

Thanks Paulina for making our tapas and wine tour such fun. We’ve been to Barcelona a few times but never been on a guided tour and it’s always interesting to be shown a place by a local. We were a group of 16 (11 from the USA, 3 from Australia and the 2 of us from the UK). We went to 4 different Tapas Bars, ate different local dishes and drank different types of wines at each venue. En route to each Paulina pointed out street art we would never have noticed, buildings of historic interest and even where Evanescence filmed a video. Paulina made sure everyone was kept entertained and moving around ensured the group mixed well. It was a great night and highly recommended.

Couldn’t have asked for anything more from this tour! I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was flawless and I want others to know. The guide was patient, playful, and very knowledgeable about the city and gastronomy of Barcelona which made our experience wonderful. Would recommend to anyone who’s new to Spanish cuisine. More food and drink than you can consume!

We joind this tour at 19.00. Our guide girl was wonderful. The first bar was the best in terms of the food, but
I was surprised when the rose vender man came to sell the flower to us.
We walked quite a lot, not knowing where we were heading as the next destination.
The atmosphere of the alleys in Born district was mysterious and a little scary, but
walking with 13 people as a group gave me the secure feeling.
Also, we enjoyed interesting conversation with other participants.

I’ve only left a 4 star because manager rude when we arrived. Booked on the 14:15 tour, got an email at midnight ‘offering’ the 1:30 tour, which I didn’t see as it went into promotion inbox. We literally just made it on time, to be advised if we hadn’t have, it would be tough the 14:15 cancelled. A bit harsh as we rushed through very busy streets to get there. Mariah was a brilliant tour guide and saved the day, she was fun and informative. The food at each stop was great and no shortage of that and drink

The chosen restaurants were hidden gems that only a local would know. The tour is a great way to get to know how to order tapas and the drink choices were very well chosen! A great little surprise from our tour guide was a short history stop as we walked from one restaurant to the next. The group setting was fun and overall we had a wonderful time! Definitely geared towards adults and there was enough food to make this your dinner plans. Highly recommend!

We love doing food/walking tours and unfortunately, this was a very average one. Our guide, Ewen, did not offer much in the way of history or anecdotal stories about Barcelona, and I didn't feel I learned much at all. We began in a very touristy bar/cafe for some pintxos and vermut. Apart from explaining what each pinxtos was, we were left to ourselves. We went to the market and tried oysters with cava, and then went to an "experimental kitchen" for some fairly basic snacks. The final stop was in another touristy bar/restaurant where we had Sangria and some other bites.

What makes a great tour is a guide who is knowledgeable about the city and who shares little tips and "secrets" ... things you wouldn't otherwise know, plus quality food. Sadly, this tour didn't really offer either.

This tour really made my trip. Paola the guide was wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable and the food was to die for. The food at each location was plentiful, freshly made and just wonderful. I have never laughed so much or enjoyed a meal so much. I would recommend this to everyone that tours Barcelona..it gives you a wonderful taste of the city and tons of history about this great area. It is a 10+

We were meant to have four stops, we only had three with no Cava, no explanation given. Our guide, Juan Carlos did not sit with us at the table while we were eating tapas to answer any questions which arose during our group conversations. The third stop was the next tapas which was just around the corner from the second stop so Juan Carlos could have taken us round the harbour with more historical chat, rather than leaving us outside to talk within the group. I asked him two questions which he was unable to answer. For the price this was very disappointing and we spent more time sitting down than walking and learning.

Good way to have a local guide get you started on Tapas and visit a few good spots.
I had some locals recommend a few other tapas places which were clearly (my opinion) der superior to the ones we went to with the guide. More like Slow Food, Eater publication style. I suspect some of those top and busy places may not like your groups though. Our guide was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. I went solo and enjoyed conversation with the others (6 other people).
