Some of the friendliest, professional and awesome people I’ve ever dived with. Genuinely kind and just awesome people. I would strongly recommend Leagues Ahed Diving to any one looking for a safe, comfortable and chill diving experience on the Canary Island. I did my advanced open water course with them and I’ll be back next year for more. My wife and I also did recreational dives with them and this is our preferred dive center on the island. We rented gear to go snorkeling on our own. We had chosen a windy day so the staff recommended visiting Tufia. Unfortunately we didn’t have a car so the taxi ride there and long walk to the bus stop would have been good to know about so we could have planned more, but partly also our fault not to think further ahead. Staff probably thought we had a rental car. Maybe we should have asked for more tips on using the gear beforehand to get a better experience but saw lots of cool fish and a stingray during our snorkeling visit. We called the morning of to make sure the shop was open and then arranged a good time to return the gear the next day so no hassle there. We also used the full wetsuits in February so it allowed us to stay in the water longer.

Excellent service. Come here and you will be very well looked after at every stage — booking, kitting up, diving and after. Great guiding and there’s a lot to see. Particularly enjoyed El Cabrón and big schools of fish.

Had a fantastic day diving. Absolutely excellent service. I was picked up at my apartment and at dive centre we confirmed suit & boot size. Important to say that I was given choice of suit thickness. I chose 7mm as I get cold with 5mm in sea temp below 23 C. What was very pleasing too was the quality of suit and boots. No tears or holes, excess ventilation only makes one colder. I've noticed that generally very few reviews make remarks about suit thickness & quality when in fact a poor suit can ruin a dive if you're shivering. Myself and 3 other divers plus instructors Emile and Arron took us to Tufia dive site. We had 2 very good dives, typical of the Canaries, plenty of marine life, stingray, octopus, big schoal of sardines, dorado, and too many to list. We saw all of this in a depth range of 10-20 metres. So air consumption wasn't an issue. 2 dives, best part of 2 hours below. Perfect. Leagues Ahead are very proffessional dive centre. Have first class set up, As per the other reviews. Fully warranted 5 stars. Wow, nearly forgot to mention the espresso James gave me when doing paperwork. It worth a visit for the coffee alone!

It was a great experience, and the staff were really friendly. We got picked up from our doorstep and taken straight to the drive centre to get fitted for our wetsuits. We then got driven to the dive point where we received a comprehensive input about what we could potentially see. Immediately, on getting into the sea, we saw fish. I really feel the staff made this a five star experience. I would definitely recommend.

Super nice team, finished the paperwork in now time and headed for the dive site. Rental equipment was impeccable, great guiding. We took two newbies with for some introduction dives and they looked after them really well.

Just finished doinf the 2 dives taster scuba diving with these guys and could not rate them enough. Their service was amazong, super friendly and made me feel safe at all times. My instructor aaron and amelio were very rofessional and easy going and made my whole experience unforgettable. Cant wait to come back next year and do my PADI. Course. Highly recommend this company

These are billed as the second best dive company in Gran Canaria. Well if they’re second best I’d like to see the best. James was very professional and friendly and set me up with a 6 dive package. The dive guides Ben and Emil picked me up from my hotel and took us to the dive site where they briefed us about the dive and what we would expect to see and any safety issues. They even helped put fins on once in the water. Underwater they were both very attentive and kept an eye on everything. They pointed out points of interest and showed various haunts of Octopus and Moray eels, arrow crabs and other notable creatures. They Took us to caves and swim through arches and always kept one eye on the safety aspects of diving throughout. I had six superb dives with these guys and would definitely book with the second best diving company again.

This is a wonderful dive shop, we found them when looking to hire some scuba gear for training. So helpful. Highly recommend them.

Just back from holiday and when we asked our teenage daughter what was her favourite part, scua diving was her immediate answer. We met James and he immediately put her at ease. He explained the equipment and gave her all the instructions so patiently. We immediately trusted him to look after our daughter in the water. She got to see so many different fish and loved every minute of it. They also had a camera with them and sent us on some photos and videos which was amazing. I can't recommend these guys enough... We will definitely be back again!

I arranged the discover scuba package for my son and I and have to say from 1st contact the team were amazing and experience more than we could have expected, James even took go pro photos and videos. Such a great reminder of our scuba experience, safe and professional would recommend 100%

We had the pleasure of diving with James and Anthony and I can’t thank them enough for their patience with myself and my 17 year old son and 19 year old nephew we had a great afternoon and felt safe and relaxed the whole time. Getting to see some of the beautiful fish around the cove of Amodores beach and learning skills of scuba diving was a highlight of the holiday. We were collected from our hotel in Puerto Rico and driven to the beach where the equipment was waiting for us, we were offered the GoPro footage of the dive with no pressure to purchase but I’m glad we did as we got some great little videos and photos. To give this review some context, I’ve never been bothered to leave a review before, however I felt the need to do so after my excellent experience with ‘Leagues Ahead Diving’, Gran Canaria. My partner arranged a days diving (2 shore dives) for us both with Sophie by email, which was prompt and helpful, explaining where we were likely to dive, we also received confirmation of our dives on arrival to the island. We were collected from our hotel by James and friendly discussion about the diving ensued as we were transported to the dive centre. On arrival all introductions were made of all the staff there. I have visited a number of dive centres in the 30 years I’ve been diving and at the centre it was clear that not only was it a slick, well organised operation, dealing with our necessary admin etc and equipment fitting very promptly and comfortably (my partner is new to diving and was a little nervous) but also was very friendly and welcoming to all levels of diver from try divers, students undertaking courses and experienced divers. This is important to me as I believe all levels of divers should be welcomed, but particularly those new to diving and from our brief experience with them I believe this to be the case there. After sorting out our equipment, decent Cressi suits, Cressi BCDs and regs, it was quickly loaded into the minibus, each bag labelled with our name, for us to start our 20 mins or so journey to the east side of the island to our dive location, Tufia. After being pre warned by our guide, Ben, that the east side of the island is constantly windy, this was definitely confirmed on our arrival at the car park above the village, however Ben’s comprehensive dive brief and view of the conditions sheltered in the cove below us gave us confidence all was fine to dive there. His brief included practical considerations of kitting up at the minibus, walking down the hill through the village to the beach, entry and exit to the water, what we may expect to see on the dive, a plan of our route, our plan with air consumption considerations and a review of the signals we would use with Ben and our fellow divers, another couple. My focus was making the experience as enjoyable as possible for my partner. This was the warmest water she has dived in so far (23C) and good clear visibility of 10-15m. A slightly tricky entry over large pebbles on the beach at low tide but nothing out of the ordinary for shore diving in the UK. We enjoyed 2 superb dives there, spotting much marine life, taking things steady with many local fish, barracuda, trumpet fish, nudibranch, octopus, cuttlefish, squid and even an Angel shark, semi buried in the sand and usefully pointed out by Ben. A sensible surface interval helped by a bit of cake being provided gave us ample opportunity to chat and change cylinders. Our second dive was well planned by Ben as our group had a newly qualified diver join us (the other couples son). Great to see the family be encouraged to dive together by Ben and the other guide, Emil and also to see how them both adapted our dive for this. A differing air consumption in the group meant that Ben with my partner and I planned to extend the dive further to ensure a full experience for us. As a group we had a great dive and enjoyed the marine life again and even experienced a small ‘swim through’ some of the volcanic rock before we split the group with Ben , my partner and I extending our dive. As previously discussed with Ben we did experience slight surge and movement as we neared the corner of the sheltered cove, this proved no problem and was a new experience for my partner, with Ben winning points with her at the end of the dive by complimenting her on her buoyancy control. The pre warned walk with equipment back up the hill didn’t seem so bad at all and we were both buzzing from the dives. No rush for us to dismantle the kit and get changed. Back in the minibus we discussed with Ben and Emil possible snorkelling location recommendations for us around the island. We then travelled back to our resort and were dropped directly off at our hotel, feeling a little guilty of not helping to rinse the kit we’d used. Our only regret is that we didn’t plan another days diving into our stay, however, by following Sophie’s well written website page on snorkelling advice around the island we had a great time exploring those locations. Overall we were very impressed by our brief but excellent 1 days diving with Leagues Ahead diving and we wish Sophie, James and their team all the best in the future. Jamie & Becky

What an amazing crew! The way they handles us and the diving trip was out of this world! Felt safe all the time and never wondered what was going to happen next. Also, all of the crew was really nice and professional. Would definitively go back for another trip if the opportunity arises.
