Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sightseer8231780 contributionsWonderful ExperienceMartin was great and very accommodating. We went with our 2 year old and changed the itinerary a bit and Martin was great in adjusting to our schedule. He was very knowledgeable about the history of each area and took us to different scenic spots to take pictures. We are thankful to experience the coastal Basque area with such a knowledgeable and kind guide. Thank you Martin!Written 19 December 2024

- cecily970 contributionsFood and fun in San SebastiánWe had a pintxo food tour in San Sebastian. The food was really very good and interesting. Definitely a great experience. Our guide Cristina Guia was very pleasant and helpful. She is very knowledgeable with her craft. She was generous with extra information about other points of interest around Spain and neighboring towns. We were very happy with the tour and our guide. It’s worth trying their tours.Written 10 November 2024

- kyleb6440 contributionsBest food tour we’ve ever doneI would give this tour 10 stars if I could! We spent an amazing 3 hours with Martin on the pinxtos San Sebastián tour. Martin is a local who was born and raised in San Sebastián and has a passion for sharing his city. His English is perfect and he delivers the perfect balance of food, culture, history and fun. Martin also gave many recommendations for the remainder of our time in his city. If you have the chance to book with Martin, just do it!Written 29 October 2024
- E11evated0 contributionsHighly recommend this tour!We had a great time! We loved the selections of cheese, seafood, pintxos, wine, and sweets. Our guide Martin, was passionate about Basque culture and generous with sharing insights about the region's history, origins, and food trends. We got special access into a parador to see its tapestry exhibits as well as a panoramic birds eye view of the Basque coastline. Highly recommend this tour! Looking forward to more experiences from Ikusnahi tours.Written 28 October 2024
- J737ZQcatherineb0 contributionsAn unforgettable experienceWhat an outstanding day! Mekal met us at our rental apartment, in Gros, and we set out on an epic hike up and over the mountain - breathtaking inclines, breathtaking views! That might have been our favorite part of the tour, not discounting the water taxi ride, stroll around Pasajes San Juan and drive through the rolling hills - but then we got to Hondarribia and visited a gastronomic society. Such a unique experience and amazing food, wine and cider. The whole day was unforgettable and possibly our favorite of our week in the Basque region. Mekal was a wonderful guide, historian and ambassador - and he was nice enough to give us recommendations for the rest of our visit (we followed all of them and every single one was perfect)Written 20 October 2024
- Tourist370650097610 contributionsAwesome Day of Sightseeing, Wine and FishMarkel with Ikusnahi Travel was our guide on this outing and a few more. We had a fantastic time and learned so much about the history of the area while visiting cliffs, a winery and then a grilled fish restaurant. We were driven around in a spacious immaculate bus. The food was amazing-the best fish I have ever had. The wine is delicious and goes perfectly with the fish. Our group was huge and Markel handled everyone with care and grace and more importantly, fun. I cannot recommend Markel or Ikusnahi Travel enough. They are wonderful.Written 19 October 2024
- I9713ESkathys0 contributionsA delightful autumn day in the Rijoca regionTwo friends and I were staying in San Sebastián for three days. We took this tour to Rijoca and had the most wonderful day. Martin our guide was charming and knowledgeable. The wineries we visited were ‘boutique’ type makers all of whom were passionate about the wines they offered. We tasted a variety of wines from the region and learned about how they are produced. The tasting offered both traditional styles and some more modern and experimental wines. The tour also includes a very delicious lunch of regional specialties.Written 13 October 2024

Ok. It took me for ever to post it, but I finally have time since I cant go anywhere atm ;(
We have been to San Sebastián in October last year. We took a tour with this almost unpronounceable company and it was so worth it! Ania and Ernes are the best!
It was a very first time for us in Basque Country. Simply, excellent introduction to local culture. We started in gorgeous San Sebastian and it was fantastic.
Our guide Ania took us around the city first in a van (thanks for that because the city has some high hills that we didn't feel like climbing after a long flight) and then walking. Ania not only shares her great knowledge but she is also lots of fun. We enjoyed listening to stories, learning about traditions & eating and drinking. Pintos are small delicious bites San Sebastián is famous for. Basques are so proud of their rich cuisine and now we know why.
After finishing the tour we felt like we know the city are were confident enough to use local transport to explore more and more.
Thank you Guys!!! Hasta one day!;)

Can, getting to know the city, its architecture, history and traditions, be interesting and not boring at all? Well, difficult, specially if we talk about San Sebastian (Basque Country, Spain) so beautiful city, that just see it leaves breathless.
When I came to live to San Sebastian in 2006 I was totally impressed by the beauty of this town, however I did not discovered the soul of the city until I experienced the unrivalled city tour with Ikusnahi this summer.
We have been walking around the city with Ania, who explained everything in such amazing and interesting way, natural and very funny at the same time!
She left space for open discussion for you to begin to discover for yourself, in an imperceptible way, that you know the city more deeply, understanding the local culture and people much better.

We are four friends from the United States visiting Donostia-San Sebastian for the first time. The early September weather was warm, the skies sunny, and we had a perfect day for a tour of the city with our guide Ania of Ikusnahi Tours.
Ania was a joy to be with. Her disposition was upbeat, friendly and her knowledge of the area and history was both wide and deep. She was particularly helpful in our understanding of the Basque culture and traditions, very much alive in San Sebastián. Ania also frequently asked for our interests and customized the tour accordingly.
A high point of the tour was the walk through Old Town where Ania brought us to a pintxos bar, a must have experience here, and helped us order some delicious small plates and wine while mixing in with a local crowd. She later gave us a list of her favorite pintxos bars which we availed ourselves of a few nights later when we went unaccompanied for a night on the town of bar and food hopping. Her recommendations were great. Below is an itinerary of our 3.5 hours with Ania so you can see how much she delivered in a relatively short time, leaving us feeling familiar with and ready to explore the city on our own for the rest of our stay.
She arrived promptly at 10:00 am with a Mercedes van large enough for all four of us including one, very tall gentleman who had plenty of legroom. She was an excellent driver which is important in both the urban center where there is a lot of traffic and pedestrians as well as on our journey up some of the hills that surround La Concha beach. Our first stop was at the west end of the crescent to view the Combs of the Wind sculptures. They jut out from the steep cliffs at that end of the harbor to interact with the wind and surf. It was a great place to take photos and get a feel for the outer harbor.
Ania then took us up the steep, hillside road to the amusement park atop Monte Igeldo where we had a fabulous view of the city and the boat regatta underway with much fanfare in the bay below. I wouldn’t want to drive up that road so was glad we had Ania at the wheel. Then we drove to the other end of the city to the Gros neighborhood and Zurriola beach. Ania parked near the modern conference center and then took us the rest of the tour on foot through the historic old town that was crowded with fans of the regattas.
In summary, we highly recommend Ania for any tour!

Our tour with Ernes could not have been better! After traveling to more than 50 countries and taking similar tours in nearly every location, my expectations are quite high and Ernes exceeded every one of them! I cannot say enough about his wonderful approach. We visited a wide variety of sites without ever feeling rushed and tasted the most amazing selection pintxos while learning so much about the history and culture of the region. He was flexible, accommodating our preferences and needs seamlessly, and incredibly entertaining. And the communication before, during, and after the tour was tremendous. It was an unforgettable adventure, and I am so thankful a friend recommended his services. Do not miss a chance to book with Ernes and his company--absolutely outstanding!

I am a regular traveller and always look for experiences that let me get to know the place I am visiting in an authentic, fun, and educational way. The tour with Ania in San Sebastian is one of the best cultural and gastronomic adventures I have ever experienced. I echo the sentiments that are expressed over and over on other reviews: can't say enough about how wonderful the experience was and left feeling the tour like I had a new friend! This tour was a half day visiting by car and walking the major areas of San Sebastian and exploring hidden gems of local pintxos food spots. The experience never felt rushed and truly felt like I was immersed in the city. Ania is incredibly knowledge about everything - the food, the culture, history, art. It was honestly unbelievable her depth of knowledge. She is also incredibly funny and easy to be around. Can't wait for the next time I can visit the Basque to be able to take another adventure with them! Ania also described all the incredible ways they can customize tours to make it truly personalized - I have never seen this level of impeccable customer services when it comes to small group touring.

One of the best tours we have ever taken. It was fun, interactive and delicious. Our guide was Ania and we had a blast with her. During 5 hours we visited all the important places in the city and ate a selection of top pinchos. Ania was personable and knowledgeable and all the family felt like we visited an old friend rather than taken a tour. Book Ikusnahi and ask for Ania.

What a fabulous time Markle showed us. Firstly we were collected directly from our hotel in a very comfortable car. Then Markle drove all around San Sebastián showing us many magnificent views, historic homes and important sights while explaining the colourful history of the beautiful San Sebastián. We then walked the beachfront to the Old Town where we sampled many yummy Pintxos matched with drinks and Markel explained/showed more wonderful sights within the area. Markle was knowledgeable, funny and entertaining, it was a pleasure to spend time with him, we highly recommend him….thanks Marklel :)
