We booked this private tour as a shore excursion for our day in Bilbao and it was fabulous! Zach was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the booking process, making recommendations based on our group members and timelines. He was also an excellent guide, providing local insights, history and interesting facts that engaged all group members. My husband and I just returned from an amazing trip to the Basque Country. The destination is unique in the world, and the food and wine alone make the trip worth taking. We had a special interest in visiting the Rioja wine region after hearing about the world class wines that have been produced there for almost a thousand years! Gratefully our research connected us with Zach and Irene, the owners of The Best of Basque luxury tour company. Their in-depth local knowledge and connections with the best and most unique wineries made for a really exceptional experience. With over 600 wineries in the region, you couldn't possibly do this on your own. We were picked up at the hotel in one of their spotless luxury vans and spent the next several hours being immersed in the beauty and history of Basque Country. After visiting three extraordinary wineries with personal tours and tastings, we were ready for lunch. Zach brought us to an excellent local restaurant where we experienced Basque cuisine, some of the best food in the world. We invited Zach to join us and thankfully he obliged. His passion for the food and ability to speak Spanish resulted in an unbelievable meal. I strongly recommend touring with The Best of Basque. They will surpass your expectations!

Our local tour guide, Olaia, was fantastic - very knowledgeable and super friendly. She took us to five great Pintxo bars in the old town that we may not have stumbled upon ourselves, some of which we returned to later in our trip (they were that good). Don’t be put off by the £80 price tag, it is definitely worth the money.

A fantastic introduction to the world of Basque Pintxos. Our tour guide Irene was excellent and she took us to the 5 best places in Bilbao - ones we wouldn’t have found by ourselves. We sampled 10 generous Pintxos from traditional to modern and also the local wine and cider. We were also given a lot of information about the history of the Basque region which was really interesting. We’ve done a number of food tours and I can honestly say that this one was the best so far ! Thank you

Great tour visiting 5 pintxos bars in the Bilbao old town and sampling good quality traditional and modern pintxos. Our guide was a great companion for a night out sampling the best pinxhos in Bilbao’s old town. We learnt in a few hours about Basque culture and the local wines and culture. A great tour to do on your first day in Bilbao.
