          Great Kayak Tour in Seville
I really enjoyed this tour. My guide, Constanza, was awesome - very knowledgeable, kind, energetic and patient and able to easily adapt the tour to each person’s needs/abilities. It felt great to get out on the water, get a bit of exercise and appreciate the city from a different perspective along with the different rowing teams that clearly enjoy the river while getting some city history along the way!

          A fascinating and engaging tour
I went on the Seville: City of Queens, Nuns, Sex Workers & Witches tour, and it was a fantastic experience. The guide, Guille, was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour both engaging and fun. We visited some fascinating places, and his storytelling brought the history to life. The communication with the tour company was excellent. If you’re interested in Seville’s hidden history and unique stories, I highly recommend this tour!

          Fun and interesting night out
Costanza was an exceptional host and guide. It was a rainy night but we plotted through to 4 different stops and all of them were worth the moisture. Fantastic tapa, drinks, conversation and an excellent Flamenco show as well. Honestly, it was like going out with a bunch of friends to our favorite bars. Highly recommend!

Fun couples night out with a local
We had the most amazing time with Costanza while in Seville. We knew we wanted to see a Flamenco show, but more than that, we wanted to learn about the history and art form of the dance. As a professional dancer herself, we was excellent in helping us not only experience the show, but understand it as well. Later, she took us two tapas bars and we had great conversation. This was not your typical scripted tour - it really felt like we hanging out with an old friend. I would highly recommned!

          Ronda was spectacular
Our guide/driver was terrific. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the region as well as the sights in Ronda. It was a very enjoyable and stress free day and a very nice scenic way to get to Seville from Grenada Ronda is spectacular. We had plenty of time to explore and have a nice lunch. So very happy we chose to see it this way

          Guille was great!
Guille, a Seville native, was a knowledgable and obliging guide to the food scene in Triana, a neighborhood across the river from the city's tourist-clogged historic center. He tailored the tour once we got to know each other a little, and since I'm not a picky eater, he steered us toward some deeper-cut recommendations. I'm sure he could—and gladly would—accomodate any palate or question.

Excellent tour enjoyed by us !
A great trip- Carlos was knowledgeable and adapted the tour to fit in with our tired ( and hungry) teenager - the walk around the town was really interesting. The mosque/ church was fascinating. I highly recommend the tour !

          Private transfer Faro to Seville
We had a private transfer from Faro to Seville incorporating a stop at Italica along the way. Our driver Daniel was very friendly and knowledgeable, offering good suggestions for how to spend our time in Seville and tips on language, food etc. He was a great driver and lovely person. Thanks also to Mahsa for helping me to book the trip and suggestions for tours along the way (which was great value compared to subsequent day trips).

Great private trip and tour to Granada from Sevilla
Took a day trip from Seville to Granada to see the Alhambra and the Alcazyn. Carlos was a fantastic host. He walked us around the city showing us places we would never seen ourselves. Additionally, he gave us some hints of things to see in our next city, as well as tried to help us make restaurant reservations, which we were ultimately able to get in thanks to him.

Wonderful day trip to Caves of Nerja and Frigiliana white village
Great experience on a full-day tour of the Caves of Nerja, white village of Fragiliana, and Balcony of Europe on the Costa del Sol. Our tour guide (and driver), Predrag, was fabulous, and it was a pleasure to spend the day guided by him. First stop was the pre-historic Caves at Nerja with giant stalactites and stalagmites and other amazing sights. Next was Frigiliana, probably the most beautiful white village in Spain. Predrag knew the best walking route through the town, adapting the pace to our needs, and he showed us sights we would not have found on our own. Finally we visited the Mediterranean shore at Nerja and the Balcony of Europe for beautiful views looking out to the sea and shoreline. Predrag is extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area, and he made the day so interesting and enjoyable. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Spain.

I was traveling with my two college age daughters for our day trip to Tangier. I booked months in advance and communication from Mahsa was excellent and thorough. We paid in advance for the ferry tickets, camel ride and lunch and the rest was billed later closer to the tour. Our driver, Juanlu, was on time, courteous and a good driver. While he did not speak English, he used his translator app to communicate with us and point out some sites. Once at the Tarifa port, we picked up our reserved tickets from the FRS ticket office. We boarded the 11:00 am ferry which lasts about an hour. Our crossing was a bit windy and rocky, so take dramamine if prone to seasickness. We were all good, but a few passengers were not. Our Moroccan guide was waiting for us at the port exit. Our guide was excellent and such a good ambassador for Tangier and Morocco and our driver was great. We went to several overlooks for the view and pictures, Cape Spartel to see the old lighthouse, camel riding on the beach, walking tour of the old town and fortress of Tangier, tasty Moroccan lunch, and shopping at a lovely textile shop and apothecary. Our guide was so personable, informative and so helpful with taking pictures of our family. He captured wonderful footage of us on the camels -- video and pictures! I really appreciated his attentiveness to answer all of our questions and to explain history, culture and details to us. He enjoyed sharing about his city and country and our driver was always ready to pick us up and drive us safely to the next spot. We packed a lot into the day and it was worth it! Our guide helped us to pick up our return ferry tickets at the FRS and dropped us at the terminal door. The return ferry ride was smooth and our Spain driver was waiting for us at the meeting spot. Juanlu returned us safely to Seville. It was a fantastic and most memorable day and I recommend to go!

This was a quite a tour! Crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain and into Africa and back again—all in a day!
It was a long day, but then again we started early from Seville. Our tour company set up a driver to pick us up in Seville and drive us to the ferry in Tarifa. Once we docked in Tangier, our guide met us and gave us a private tour around Tangier. It was not meant to be a private tour, but it was way better than being in a large bussed group. Our guide was an older man with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Tangier. We learned so much! We made some stops at lookout points, before heading for the coast to ride camels on the beach and check out the cave of Hercules which meets the ocean waves. We then headed back to the old Kasbah and Medina and various Souks for sightseeing and shopping. It was unlike anything we have ever experienced. It was chaotic, but beautiful, contemporary living for the current residents, but filled with ancient traditions. There are crafts people and cheap tourist souvenirs, but also shops with interesting vintage finds. The lunch included was so delicious! Coming from a far away city like Seville, be prepared for a 2.5 hour drive to Tarifa, and another 2.5 hours on the return. Be prepared to tip the driver accordingly as well as the tour guide and Moroccan driver. Also please note the the true cost is about $500 a person. We were aware of this from other reviews. So we were fully aware of all that was included. I’m glad we went to Tangier!

Thanks for sharing your impressions and the practical tips. Beautifully described! Tangier is indeed a vibrant and exotic port and worth a visit as it will show the curious traveler a fascinating yet very different world just on the doorstep of Europe. As a tailor-made tour company we don't operate like a mass tour operator and as such we give options and freedom to our guests and enable them to decide for themselves. The tour description mentions clearly what is included and what is not. However, sometimes some travelers don't pay attention the relevant information of their booking (happens to me too). On this tour, the ferry, lunch, camel ride and the tips are all optional and as such are not included in the price. The ferry is not included since some guests stay longer, are already in Tangier or fly elsewhere after the tour. The ferry timetable changes too and we cannot take control of that. Lunch is optional as the idea is to give travelers a choice instead of including a cheap menu. The camel ride is an activity that not everybody wants to do and tips obviously are never charged by us but recommended and they depend on client's satisfaction. This is all with the idea to customize your travel experience instead of charging a bulk price as most mass tour companies do. I hope this makes sense and we can count on the support of those selective travelers who appreciate personalization over automation and a quality and intimate journey to a massive bulk tour.

Our family of 5, including daughters 23 and 16 and son age 12, had an awesome time on our trip to Tangier. It was a little unexpected that we shared a shuttle to and from the ferry with 2 other families, but it wasn't an issue. Once in Tangier, we had our own personal guide, Hassan, and driver.

Hassan (may not be correct spelling) was excellent and provided extremely interesting information about the sites, culture, and the uniquely friendly relationship Morocco has had with the USA since 1776.

Highly recommend him as a guide! Unlike some of the other reviews, our ferry rides and lunch (except for drinks) were all included in the price we paid up front.

For lunch, there were two chicken dishes offered and both were delicious. We chose not to ride the camels and spent some extra time shopping in the market.

It was a long day but totally worth it!

Very mixed review. Our time in Tangier itself was great, and our guide Omar was terrific. He was very enthusiastic and made us feel welcome. We understood that this would be a quick, relatively superficial introduction to Morocco, but it was definitely a worthwhile experience. If we were rating just that part of the trip, it would be a four or five.

The interactions with Not Just a Tourist leading up to the trip were terrible, however, to the point that we thought we were being scammed.

On December 6th, we booked and paid for a tour on January 2nd. Shortly after booking, we received an email from Mahsa asking us for alternative dates, "as Christmas dates are quite busy for us". Fair enough. After providing our available dates, we were informed that "There might be a 100 euros supplement since by law we have to pay a Christmas/public holiday pay to our drivers. Also, please note that starting from the 1st Jan there is a price change too. I am not sure how much as our suppliers have not passed their 2024 prices yet but it will be soon." We replied that our understanding was that the price was agreed upon when they accepted our reservation and charged our credit card for the full amount.

What followed was a series of emails and texts where Mahsa repeatedly mentioned the potential price increase, repeatedly asked for information we'd already provided (our availability dates) and repeatedly promised to send us details about the arrangements. On December 27th, we received an email saying that the trip was set for January 1st, and that we'd get confirmation on that the next day. After hearing nothing further, I texted on December 30th and was informed that the trip was now set for January 2nd, and that details would be sent the next day. Again, no details were sent. We phoned and left a message on January 1st, and finally got an email with the details around 7:00 in the evening.

These interactions (discussing price increases, asking for information already provided, and repeatedly promising to send confirmation details in a specific time frame and then going silent) led us to conclude that we were being scammed, and that Mahsa was purposefully making things difficult for us so that we would cancel and lose our money. Needless to say, this added a great deal of unnecessary stress to our time in Spain.

Hi Michael, I am very glad you enjoyed the tour in Morocco with our team and I am very sorry if your booking experience was not as nice as we would have liked it to be. I'd like to apologize for all the changes and the uncertainty you had. I know first-hand this is not a nice way to spend your vacation and I am sorry you were affected by it. However, there is an explanation for that which I also mentioned to you before- we need to consider that this day trip not only takes you to another country but to another continent! As such it is a quite complicated tour and it has 11 different providers that we need to coordinate. Some of the providers informed us of possible changes in their prices for 2024 but could not confirm the new prices beforehand. Therefore, I was not able to assure your tour and I explained this by email so you could understand the reasons behind it. That caused a lot of stress for you as well as for me. I was not sure if the ferry price would be changed, if tickets, guide, driver, transfer, etc will remain the same. There was a last-minute price rise of 230 euros but out of courtesy and to respect your travel plans we assumed the expenses and ran your tour instead of canceling your tour last minute. I am sorry again your experience was not as nice as it usually is for most of our travelers. Also, the reason why you received your confirmation so late was that the ferry company did not send them to us earlier and we had to wait. resulting in my working during my own holidays too to take care of your trip and make sure you enjoy Morocco. I am sorry again this was not a 100% satisfactory experience for you and hope you understand that sometimes some external factors affect us. Wishing you nice and stress-free travels ahead!

If you are looking for an introduction to Morocco, this trip is for you! Our trip to the ferry was a bit hectic as we got there with very little time to spare, but the instructions from Not Just a Tourist were very clear so we made it onto the ferry with ease. Once we arrived in Morocco, our local travel guide, Muhammad, was excellent. His enthusiasm to help and knowledge for the area was second to none. I cannot recommend this trip more to people who do not have time to do an in depth trip to Tangiers but want to get a taste for another country while in Spain.

While it is a long day, this trip was amazing. The drive to Tarifa was smooth and the driver was great at pointing out the sights. The ferry ride was easy and the guide/driver in Tangier were also awesome. Lots of sightseeing in Tangier to be had, it was a significantly different place than most think of and the guide did a wonderful job of explaining the history and how things have changed throughout time.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It was convienient, comfortable, and we felt safe the entire trip. Our guide in Tangier was very informative and kind. We had a great lunch in the Casbah, which was included. Tangier is an amazing city. We viewed craftsman at work at their looms and baking bread, toured an incredible food market, and walked the Medina. Overall, a great experience that we will not forget.

This was a very long day (8am to 2am) door to door, beautifully executed and wonderfully experienced excursion. Driver Juan Luis picked us up at the hotel (Seville) and drove us to the ferry 2.5 hours away in Tarifa, and he was also waiting when we returned on a delayed ferry at 11:30 pm. The ferry experience , going through customs, etc was busy but clear enough. In Tangier we were greeted by our guide for our private day long tour for two. Morad is a scholar- historian, an elder (79 years old and quite sprite) with an abundance of relevant historical, architectural and cultural knowledge made the day a unique experience. As we asked more questions, he added additional relevant sites to see ( e.g. a synagogue with ancient Torah, a public oven). After seeing so many cathedrals, Catholic relics etc. in Spain, it was a very interesting contrast to see Muslim and Jewish culture, monuments etc. in Tangier. Many highlights but one not to miss is the camel rides on the beach! Great trip!

A very quick trip to Morocco. Early morning pickup by our driver Valdo, 2.5 hour drive to Tarifa, Spain, 1 hour ferry and you are in Tangier. Meet by our guide Bashir and our driver Achmed. Drive through the city to Cap Spartel, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic Oceans, beautiful views and on a clear day you can see Gilbraltar.
Next to the Caves of Hercules where they found cuts showing mill grind stones from 4000 years ago.

From there back into the city and yes we hit the Casbah!

Wandered through the old streets, had a great tour of an old mosque turned into a museum, watched them bake bread in the communal ovens of the village bakery. Had a marvellous traditional lunch at La Terraza De La Medina. Traditional harira soup, a savory Moroccan soup made with dried legumes — lentil, chickpeas, fava beans. Then a tangine of chicken and an other of chicken, couscous and vegetables. All delicious, finishing with mint tea and a sweet pastry.

Next a wander through the Souk in Medina. A little bargaining a little shopping, some small trinkets, all good.

Back to the ferry terminal and a reverse trip back to Seville. A very long but enjoyable day! All arranged through Not Just A Tourist

We did a day trip to Tangier and our guide for the day was Mohcine. We were so grateful for his hard work, passion, patience, and great information about Tangier and Morocco throughout our tour. This experience made us eager to return to Morocco and learn even more! He went above and beyond to make our day in Tangier truly amazing! We also had a great experience booking with Masha, and with our wonderful driver Mohammed. I would very highly recommend working with Not Just a Tourist! Can't wait for our next trip! :) PS: For anyone who might be hesitant given the expense of the tour for one day, as we were initially, this is so completely worth it! The help with scheduling the ferry, with escorting us through the whole day, and the wonderful lunch experience made this absolutely worth it, and we would do this tour again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for a wonderful and truly memorable experience!
