Kicked out for a simple mistake
We had a great time until the last ride where I accidentally took the safety down on the ride. I thought it was single ones and not one whole. Also me and my friend are not fluent in German so any warnings about it must have been lost in translation. Nevertheless when the guy operating the ride discovered the mistake, he made a big fuss of trying to find out who did it instead of just lifting the safety immediately and getting on with his job. He then accused me and my friend (which was right) but he spoke no English so we couldn’t tell him it was a mistake. And then he threw us out. Very disappointed that a simple mistake that (anyone could have made) got us kicked out.

    Entertaining !
I enjoyed the animation that the actors were doing. I was not scared at all, but was fully entertained (and smiling all the time). Both rides were enjoyable. I just think that the price (27 EUR) is a bit high... It's a shame that we can't take photos of the décor once the actor's performance is done.

    Great fun, would def recommend
Such good fun! Went with me niece (14) and she was way more cool about the scary stuff than me 🙈. We had such a laugh! Also, the Thief…goodlooking fellow 🥸

    Spookily fun time!
Had an absolute blast at the Hamburg dungeons! Went on the English tour on Sunday at 10am and were both scared and tickled with laughter! The actors were amazing, it was so interactive and each storyline was so engaging that it didn’t seem like it lasted an hour and a half! It is also accessible which is very handy to know!

    Like every Merlin Dungeon
The Hamburg Dungeon is like other Dungeons I have visited. The themes of the Plague, a big fire, pirates/ships and a court pass. It is very interesting because you learn a lot about those themes and how they influenced the city. The actors and themed rooms were very good and it was "scary" but not too much. Too bad the water ride didn't work. Overall a good experience for the reduced ticket price that we found online (17€).

    Awesome experience
We had to book online to ensure we get space as there was only;y one English tour per day. Was a fun and interactive experience and well presented. Even when they experienced a small technical problem at the one scene/ride it was handled professionally.

    Interesting tour through Hamburg´s history
I expected something different, but it was ok and not that scary that I thought it might be. A bit expensive though for what it is...

    Enjoyable few hours
Went with teenagers to kill time, it was well done and we all enjoyed it, not too expensive and really good actors that talked us through it. We would recommend to others.

    OK tour
Little more than standard fun house scare tour, but professionally done. Actors were well rehearsed. Tip. If you want the tour in English, you must schedule it that way. Handicap accessibility was adequate for the most part.

    Great experience!
The Hamburg Dungeon was scary and very entertaining! Really impressed by the staff and the props throughout the entire journey. We spent a weekend in Hamburg and this was well worth a visit, would recommend to anyone! Be aware that the experience in English was only available at some few times during the day.

Great place to visit, allow 2 hours.
This was so much fun, and a highlight of our trip to Hamburg. The only downside was that they don't offer English tours every day - only sporadically throughout the week, and there were no tours in English on the days we had available to visit. So we did the tour in German and didn't understand a single word of it. Despite this, it was still fun! With an atmosphere like a haunted house, you get taken from room to room to re-live the history of the Hamburg area by actors who are well-dressed for the part. One room contained information about tortures, one about a court room, one a butcher, one a class room, one a prison escape etc. There are realistic rooms with floors and seats that move, and special effects to make it surprising and fun. And to top it off, there are two rides included in the tour, one of which is a free fall ride at the end. This is great entertainment for anyone from children to the elderly, and if only we would have been able to understand the tour, I think it could have made it into one of my favourite places in the world. Our only advice is CHECK THE LANGUAGES OFFERED ON THE TOURS AND TIME YOUR VISIT APPROPRIATELY!

Dungeons at its best. Great Acting,Super Effects.
On a fairly quick visit to Hamburg, needed to plan places of interest to visit. The Dungeon was one of them. There are organised tours in English, however due to my days of visiting, my tour was in German. To some people, as per reviews, it was a problem, not for me, yes i was not able to follow the language, but as the story in each room developed, i was able to follow. The acting by all the actors is superb, the design of the rooms amazing, all encompassed with two great rides, [no spoiler] i thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and would have no hesitation to go again in the future.

    Great Experince
Definitely it was a great experience, even for me and my wife. Don't go there with kids under 11 years old, too bad. I can really recommend this place. Good time wit family.

Overpriced fun, not for kids under 10
Wow, I am glad I didn't pay 25.50 EUROS for this. Online prices are much cheaper. It's fun and has some local Hamburg history tied in which is cool and cruel. The fear and frightening factor is not as severe as I had expected but it's definitely well advised that kids under 10 aren't allowed (allusions to castration as a means of torture) and those 10-14 only with an adult. I saw the German show and much of its wording seemed to be directly translated from English - just didn't sound that natural in German. The acting was pretty good but I didn't like that you had to go through the entire thing with a rather large group of people. It's tight in some of the rooms and you don't have a chance to see everything because it's so crowded. Although it would be a lot more fun if you were allowed to take pictures or they would at least include the initial photo that they take in the entry price. Didn't feel like paying another 10 Euros for it.

On web is is recommended for kids above 10 but in fact it is not recommended for kids above 7. This is like a theater; you have to go from one room to another where you watch some act, interact if requested but simply ridiculous.
It is strictly forbidden to take photos as otherwise they kick you out but after you pass all, you know why; they do not want anybody to see what is this hoping to survive for one more day, week, month or a year. Just waste of money, nothing else.

We were looking forward to a scary experience. Unfortunately, we were not really convinced.

The props are a bit reminiscent of the ghost train at the fair. When you create a facility like this, you plan something like this long-term in my opinion in order to offer the audience a believable illusion. In our opinion, this was not given enough attention.

The actors' performances were varied. Some really impressed with their talent, others unfortunately not. You could tell that the excitement had already gone out of them by the time we showed them at 4 p.m. The guide was very unfriendly at the final performance.

The staff at the Hamburg Dungeon were also unfriendly and demotivated.

The effects were interesting and exciting.

In conclusion, the Hamburg Dungeon can definitely be recommended for school classes and young adults. However, the overpriced tour did not give us the impression that those involved were interested in anything other than money.

We therefore recommend taking advantage of the offer in London.

We really liked the actors and actresses. The scary effects and the partial darkness were a bit spooky. I liked the mirror maze the most. Very well done. We didn't like the group size of around 30 people so much. Half would definitely be enough. I would raise the age limit for children to 12. After an hour, it was too much for our 10-year-old grandson and we left the show early. But it worked out really well, without disturbing the rest of the group. During the initial talk, it was pointed out that you should speak to one of the actors/actresses if you want to leave the show early.

This experience exceeded my expectations! I don’t speak much German but even with it being presented entirely in German I was able to get a lot out of it. I was impressed by the use of all the props, sets, lighting, and sound elements. The actors should be commended for their absolute commitment to their roles and enthusiasm. The two mini rides were fun and just scary enough. Very good value for the money!!

I've been to the Berlin Dungeon before.
I found the Hamburg Dungeon
even more interesting because mini "roller coaster-like attractions"
were included.
The employees/actors tried very hard and pulled you right into the story.
Great fun with background on the city and its hardest times but also shock and humor - lots of black humor.
Simply recommended.

For us, the visit to the Hamburg Dungeon was definitely worth it. We spontaneously decided to visit the dungeon and booked tickets online. It all worked out and after about 30 minutes of waiting, it was our turn and it was invited in. I don't want to give too much away here. It went through different time periods with rooms designed accordingly for the time. Typical themes from history and certainly other cities were dealt with and staged by very good acting skills. I often had goose bumps and was anxious for the following. Of course, there were funny moments. It was a good mix and my expectations were always exceeded when entering a new room. The coronation was the conclusion. I give you the tip trusts you and always repents in any case, otherwise nothing can be guaranteed .... have fun with the next visitors and thank you to the team for the scary-beautiful experience you gave me and my boys.

Do this! It was really amazing. From start to finish, I found the entire experience to be top-notch, theatrical, exhilarating, and scary. The actors and actresses were professional and extremely believable. I was chosen twice to be in their storyline and loved every second of it. It is definitely one of my most favorite experiences. I live in Salem, Massachusetts, and we have nothing even remotely close to this well done. 5 stars!

Actors make fun of visitors in a low-brow and suggestive manner from room to room, and the visitors have to justify themselves.

Anyone expecting an interesting or scary visit like in the dungeons of London etc. will simply be utterly disappointed.

Though we understand and speak a little German and did not have the chance to book an English tour because it was only offered during weekends, we had a great time at Hamburg Dungeon. It was surprisingly exciting, hilarious and we were not really scared at all. The actors were really great and it was interactive. Learning History in a different kind of perspective. Cellular phones were shut off and other electronic gadgets during the tour. Taking photos are not allowed, they have a photo booth inside the Dungeon. Highly recommended!

The trip to the dark figures began on July 9, 24 with a friendly employee at the entrance on time at 2 p.m. After checking in, we went quickly into the elevator and the tour began. I thought the actors on our tour were excellent. The only passage I didn't like was confession. Reading Klamauk.
The rest really great ☆☆☆☆
Really fun was the waterway (I could have done another lap) and also the free fall I can highly recommend. 👍
All in all a successful event which you should just join when you are in HH!
