    New understanding of street art
Ben was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We now have a new insight into street art! He took into account the cold weather and modified the tour accordingly.

Alternative Berlin Tours's "secret pack" is Rob
First off, the artworks themselves are just incredible. Just as the art is itself a unique form, so is the viewing of it. The form draws you in to a greater philosophical discussion about community, belonging, activism, and relationships than can be had by viewing art in only its traditional setting. So this tour invited us to think differently. That's not something you can often find on a typical whirlwind vacation visiting only the major sites and the crowded tourist traps. Secondly, the value (cost-benefit) of this tour is through the roof - especially if you are lucky enough to get Rob as your guide. You could see the artworks yourself for free and probably really enjoy them. For a handsome sum, you could have an educated person explain them and understand them in historical context. What set Rob apart is not only his knowledge of the pieces and their backstory, but his passion and often first-hand experiences of being a street artist, activist, and educator himself. So, Rob made the tour not only entertaining and informative, but more importantly, engaging and personal. We would give him six stars if we could - if not for all these reasons, but that he also pushed through no less than a dozen emergency vehicle sirens and suffered Berlin winter windchill like a champ! We hope you kept all your fingers, Rob!

    Don't miss this one!
FANTASTIC tour! Street art is a vibrant part of Berlin and this tour gives an extensive, informative and interesting overview of the street art scene. Our tour guide Antonio was well-versed in the subject (being an artist himself) with information on not just Berlin but street art around the world. Fantastic tour and HIGHLY recommend!

    Street Art tour
This was fabulous. Rob, our tour guide was great!! He explained the street art/graffiti culture that is Berlin. He also provided insight into the lives of street artists and why Berlin has become a magnet for this. It really opened my eyes into looking at this and seeing what the artist is trying to exhibit. Would highly recommend this tour and Rob!

    A great time
A really fun and informative tour led by a super knowledgeable guide. This tour gives you a bit of Berlin’s complex history from all the post-war eras, I felt like I was getting to see a very lived-in slice of the city which I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Would highly recommend.

    Interesting tour outside the beaten-path
I really loved this tour! I would like to see something else, than the known sights in Berlin, as I have seen them before, so I booked a "Off-the-beaten-path tour" which is a 3 hour walking tour in the Mitte, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain area. Our guide Lee was very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about the history of Berlin that I did not know beforehand. He also told a lot of short storys of people and places, that I find very interesting. I absolutely recommend this tour to everyone! PS: wear good shoes!

Great experience learning about the street art scene in Berlin
Great tour with our Peruvian guide Susana who is very knowledgeable about the history of street art and what the difference between street art and graffiti is. We enjoyed not going to the East Side gallery but being shown other places in Neukölln and Kreuzberg. Very entertaining as the guide also asked us a lot pf questions to check if we got the concepts she has explained

Recommended. A fun, engaging 3 hours.
Recommended. Rob was a fantastic guide; insightful commentary interspersed with humour and anecdotes and he coped really well with a varied group. A good opportunity to see parts of Berlin one is less likely to otherwise see as a tourist and a chance to see lots of interesting street art and graffiti.

A Wonderful Street Art tour in Berlin!
I was interested in this tour as it seemed to take you exploring off the beaten path in Berlin a bit and so I decided to give it a try off of that. I’m really glad I decided to try this tour out. I’m fascinated by street art and the artwork we saw during this walking tour was incredibly well done and super interesting to look at. A big thank you to our tour guide, Marnie. She did a wonderful job leading our group throughout this tour, filling us in on the history of street art in Berlin, and also teaching us about the various artists that have contributed and are still contributing to the scene today. We saw a lot in this artsy neighborhood in the Friedrichshain part of Berlin before we crossed the bridge on over into Wrangelkiez where we saw a few more iconic pieces of artwork. No stop is made at the East Side Gallery since it’s far more well known but you do walk past it and it’s to easy to go back to once this tour gets completed at the Astronaut Art mural. If you’re looking for something to see off the beaten path a bit in Berlin and love looking at street art then definitely book this tour! Highly recommended! - Nolan

    Great alternative tour
Great tour led by Reece. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the alternative scene in Berlin. Dead Chicken Alley was fascinating. Kreutzberg was an area we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Good to see a different side of Berlin.

Walk around cool areas of East Berlin
Interesting walk around a very hip neighborhood in the city with basic explanations of what is street art and graffiti. A bit disappointing the time it took to talk about graffiti (vandalism) vs real art (street art). Information was about how graffiti artist operate rather than about art itself, what would have been much more interesting

    Fantastic Tour
Our guide was Rob and he was absolutely incredible. So informative, funny, entertaining, and clearly very passionate about street art, with a wide breadth of knowledge about even random pieces that people on the tour asked him about. He was also great at managing a diverse group with varied backgrounds, ages, and interests, and encouraging people to be engaged. It helps that the street art in Berlin is second to none. The tour was well paced, super fun, and the time flew by. Highly, highly recommend, especially if you're lucky enough to have Rob as your guide.

I've taken the tour with Jake and I have to say it was so interesting, informative, and engaging. Jake is very funny and a good storyteller(he's written a book, you know) and knows lots of things ranging from Brecht, Kollwitz to street graffiti(my first real exposure to graffiti and now I appreciate and notice them much more).

I'd completely recommend this and it remains one of the highlights for me in Berlin. He said that Berlin is a city that we won't forget and we will remember again and again what we've seen and experienced. And he was completely right.

Does what it says on the tin. If you've seen the main sights then this tour is an ideal complement and gives you a different perspective on the city. Dave was an engaging tour guide an even the non-stop rain didn't put us off!

Jason was amazing tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable about his history of Berlin. Unfortunately, the tour didn’t really go “off the beaten path” nor showed any “hidden gems.” I think the tour needs to be designed to show more unique parts of the city versus spots most people seem to know about. Nonetheless, Jason was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed his presence. We just with the tour route was better.

Thanks to Jack for such a memorable experience! He was well organised, very knowledgeable and passionate about Berlin. I learned a lot about Berlin even though I have been living her for two years already. I haven't even heard about many places/ stories before the tour. The tour truly shows off the beaten track places and makes you understand more about this fascinating city. If you are to take one tour in Berlin- I highly recommend this one!

What a wonderful way to experience Berlin. Getting amongst some of teh streets, parks and sights that are indeed off teh beaten track. But hearing the stories and teh history made this a fantastic tour. Then add the charismatic and animated delivery of our Guide JAKE - this is highly recommended if you want to really know about Berlin.

Through this walk with a super good tour guide, Berlin again seen from a different side and examined. Very varied program, both on foot and by metro and tram. The tour leader took the time to involve everyone in the growth with his knowledge and comic character. Visited beautiful places, my graffiti history and Kreuzberg were to my liking!

She really takes her job seriously..

I took the tour my 2nd day in Berlin and it really gave me the feeling of starting my visit in the right way.

A great afternoon spent with Jake. We spent the day before walking Berlin and thought we had seen a lot. How wrong we were. Engaging, informative and really insightful tour of the hidden parts and secret gems. The stories he told were both really interesting and demonstrated a real understanding of the wonder of Berlin, past and present. An awesome afternoon.
