Berlin Off-the-Beaten-Path Walking Tour: Kreuzberg, Mitte and Friedrichshain
USD 17.30

Stray from the beaten path on this half-day guided walking tour of Berlin's lesser-known neighborhoods, a perfect choice if you've already ticked off Berlin's iconic attractions. As you explore Mitte, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauerberg, and Friedrichshain, your guide reveals insider info and provides alternative recommendations that allow you to beat the tourist crowds. Discover hidden street art and areas you may have missed if exploring on your own.

What to Expect

Meet your guide and group at the TV Tower in Central Berlin, where you'll begin your walk. Start out with an orientation and overview of Berlin's various ethnic enclaves and countercultures, each of which boasts unique niche.

Over the course of your half-day walk, stop in Kreuzberg to learn about its growing Turkish community and the blending of German and Turkish culture. Pass organic markets, urban farms, guerrilla gardens, and examples of urban street art. Stop by the city's oldest beer garden, Prater Garten, and learn about Berlin's eclectic food scene, which encompasses everything from traditional German food to currywurst and doner kebab.

Listen to your guide talk about the city's various counterculture movements from past and present on your way to Yaam Beach, home to the burgeoning reggae scene. You'll leave off here, with lots of suggestions from your guide as to where you can explore further.

Great tour with Jake

Really enjoyed this tour- definitely showed a 'lesser seen' side of the city, included some great info on street art and it's significance. We were shown around by Jake who's enthusiasm and knowledge on the city and it's history was stellar. Would highly recommend

Very interesting

It was a great tour with a lot of interesting places you would not likely find on your own. Our tourguide Marissa did a great job in showing us around and she was obviously very familiar with the alternative scene in Berlin.
