Mikey was wonderful and informative! Kind and caring for the group. It was a very cold and icy day so he kept us moving as much as possible, answered any and all questions we had. And gave good recommendations for museums to dive deeper into the history.

I highly recommend booking a tour - it was so well worth the $40AUD, we were in a group of 16 and went around to every structure within the camp and were given detailed summaries of how these places were used throughout history.

We had an excellent tour guide by the name of Jamie S who was super well spoken, informative, easy to understand and was more than happy to answer additional questions. He gave us time to go through exhibits individually before meeting back and giving us more information which really helped to break up the tour!

Honestly one of the best things we have done in Berlin as first timers

The host Mikey was brilliant, knowledgeable, passionate and energetic in his delivery throughout despite the dark topic and lots of walking in May 24 heat. He took us (our group of 20 people) via train to the Sachsenhausen camp. He was considerate and vigilant keeping us well informed and kept moving steadily (large site). I learnt loads of information and would throughly recommend this trip. fyi the camp can be physically, emotionally draining however is educational and once in lifetime experience to remember those who were so fortunate as us today. Thus, I would recommend this trip towards the end of your holiday imo as it’s also good 1.5 hr total train trip outside centre with around 4-5 hours for the tour on-site. Thanks again Mikey.

Visiting the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial was a profoundly moving experience, made even more impactful by our exceptional guide, Joseph. His deep knowledge and respectful approach to the site's complex history provided us with invaluable insights. Joseph navigated the sensitive subject matter with great care, ensuring that we understood the gravity of the events that took place here. His ability to convey historical facts alongside personal stories of the camp's prisoners brought a human element to the tour that was both touching and educational.

The sombre ambience of the site is something that stays with you—walking through the remnants of barracks, standing in the vast, eerily silent roll-call square, and seeing the watchtowers still looming overhead is an experience that words can hardly capture. The weight of history is palpable, making Joseph’s guidance all the more important.

Despite the heavy nature of the subject, Joseph struck a perfect balance, incorporating moments of light humour where appropriate to keep the group engaged and ensure we could process the information without feeling overwhelmed. His ability to connect with people on a personal level, while maintaining the utmost respect for the history of the site, was truly commendable.

We left with a deeper understanding of this dark chapter in history, thanks to Joseph's thoughtful guidance. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to comprehend the profound impact of the Holocaust—it’s an experience that will stay with you forever.

We were only in Berlin for a few days but I'm glad we took the day to do this.

I took the Sachsenhausen concentration camp tour today and cannot recommend it highly enough. Ariel, our guide, was truly phenomenal — his depth of knowledge and ability to communicate this difficult history with sensitivity and clarity were remarkable. I am a Ph.D. candidate studying this topic, and still learned so much from him today.

The day of the tour was extremely cold (0 degrees Celsius with winds making it feel like -10 degrees), and Ariel ensured that everyone was comfortable, taking time to check on the group and ensuring we had everything we needed. His care for the group’s experience matched his dedication to sharing this history.

This was an unforgettable, educational experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to engage deeply with this important history. Thank you, Ariel!

Very well organized tour with a great tour guide. Maria was awesome. She knows the history of this camp and really enjoys taking people on this tour and teaching them about the history. She got us to and from the camp smoothly and also looked out for those who had a little difficulty with mobility, checking in with them to making sure they were doing ok with the pace. There are a lot of tour groups at the site but Maria made sure to avoid the crows]do when taking us around the camp. I highly recommend this tour and would use this company again. I also highly recommend Maria as she did a great job showing us around and talking about the history and what happened at different areas of the camp.

This tour was exceptional. Our guide, Xavier, had a remarkable ability to explain a difficult and somber topic in a way that was not only clear but also deeply impactful. He went beyond just dates and figures, providing context and prompting reflection on the events that unfolded here. Xavier was approachable, answering all our questions and even sending a follow-up email with additional resources for further learning.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to consider either limiting group size or offering headphones for better audibility. There were a couple of moments where it was hard to hear, despite his best efforts to ensure everyone could catch everything.

Xavier was an amazing host. He was really good about explaining every detail of the camp. Even the small stuff I would not normally notice he pointed out and told us the significance. He also knows a ton and was able to answer any of our questions. I’m not normally a tour person but I’m glad I booked this one because it taught me way more then I would of read on the plaques. Especially just the walk into the camp had history and relevance. I would recommend buying the ABC train pass ahead of time because you won’t have a lot of time before you leave. This also saves the tour guide frustration because he has a time constraint and if he misses that train you have to wait a while and it cuts time away from the camp tour. You don’t get a chance eat so make sure you have a good breakfast or snacks. Xavier walks fast but I think he is trying to give you the best opportunity to learn and see everything. He does wait for the whole group before talking so you don’t ever feel rushed. The tour starts and ends on the train. Xavier gave us details the whole way so make sure you are close enough to hear him. Ask him about his Grandpa because he has a first hand experience of what it was like to survive a concentration camp. This story was one one of the best parts of the tour.

I went on the concentration camp tour today with the guide Jamie S. As a guide he was very informative and knowledgeable about the site and events leading up to this time in history as well as after. He took enough time to at stations and other points to wait for people to catch up which I really appreciated. His background in archeology and history I felt like really gave me a better experience on this tour as this type of thing is evidently his passion. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide or tour for this sort of thing.

I would recommend this tour for groups & solo travellers but not for people with small children.

I attended this as part of a city break. This was very good and is worth doing. It was well organised and we had a guide, Georgia, who was clearly well informed on her subject matter.
There is a quite a lot walking involved with the tour and you should take your own refreshments ( Georgia did signpost this to us before we left) . Also, take an umbrella!

Excluding travel, the tour of the site lasts around 3 hours. There are various parts of the site to explore and Georgia explained these to us well. For anyone who has an interest in this era of history, I would recommend this.

Just had an excellent insider tour of Sachsenhausen from Berlin. It was really well organised starting at Friedrichstrasse station, taking the train and then with the guided walking tour of the camp. Our guide Will was excellent. His talk was informative and entertaining, and he was always keen to Respond to Questions posed by the group. The weather was not kind, and Will adjusted the tour appropriately. He dealt with a number of difficult subject matter matters really sympathetically whilst keeping the overall narrative of delivering the historical information. Really well worth doing.
