About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- laurieg7110 contributionsA deeply moving tour led by a knowledgeable and passionate guideWe do not often opt for guided tours, but we did so for our visit to Dachau — and were very glad we did. Our tourguide, Steve, was enormously knowledgeable and engaging. He brought us through this moving experience with deep respect, and with extraordinary knowledge and passion. He was able to share stories and anecdotes from the many camp survivors and even personnel whom he had known and interviewed —- extraordinary. Highly recommend!Written 15 March 2025
- kelsif20250 contributionsVery interesting and well balanced tour!A super interesting and informative tour! Sam was a great guide and was very knowledgeable. I really appreciated the balance of visiting monuments that remember victims, hearing stories about those who rebelled, and highlighting areas significant to the rise of the Nazi party. The symbols of resistance along the way were very inspiring!Written 14 March 2025

Nic, our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also very organized. I would give 5 stars although I have two negative comments. The tour group was TOO LARGE! there were approximately 30 people in the group. Walking through the city, at one time we got significantly separated due to to heavy traffic and stop lights, and I was fearing that we would not be able to catch up with Nic and the rest of the group (there were 4 other people with us also caught up in traffic). Nic did not see that we had been separated. Fortunately we were able to catch up with the group. The other comment is that individual speakers and headset would have been useful. Street noise often prevented us from hearing Nic’s comments. But otherwise, we learned a LOT. Very enjoyable. I would recommend this tour (hopefully these suggestions will modify the tour size in the future).

We did the combo ticket of dachau and third reich walking tour. Both were incredibly informative and well organised. Tom, our dachau tour guide, gave us so many interesting gems about the memorial site and gave us time to take it all in.
Our guide for third reich walking tour was josh and he was extremely passionate about the topic. He was able to explain the significance of many buildings and answered many of the group questions. He even did a slightly longer version of the tour so it was even better value for money!
Both guides had books of photographs and posters that helped to inform the tour further. Tom had also put together a book list that we took a photo of at the end of the tour.
Highly recommended for anyone on a visit to Munich. I consider myself a history buff and I learnt so much I didn’t know from both Tom and Josh.

Cannot recommend these tours highly enough.
We chose to combine both tours on the same day - I was travelling with my 77 year old mother and 15 year old son and because we were coming to Munich to learn about the history I had booked the tours prior to our departure. They do book up nearer the time so if you are pushed for time or want a specific day would advise booking in advance.
Was so glad to have the benefit of our very knowledgeable tour guides. Curt was our guide for the Dachau memorial site and Josh for the Rise of the Third Reich walking tour. The benefit of having these guides was the depth of knowledge and unique perspectives they offered us on such a dark and complex subject matter, sadly, still so very relevant today. Thank you both, again, for that.
On a practical note, the central station is busy and confusing with many exits so leave yourself plenty of time to find the meeting point at the tour office nearby.

This company treats poorly its customers, so find another tour operator.
I reserved this tour with Radius Tours and the day of the tour, it was raining heavily in Munich. I called them before the tour started and asked if I could reschedule (not cancel) the tour. In a very rude way, they said no. That day, I spent around 10 hours in the rain freezing.
I will never forget the rudeness, lack of empathy, and poor experience I had with Radius tours.
My advice: Avoid this company or visit Dachau by yourself, the entrance is free, they provide audioguides and it's very accessible by train.

We are sorry you felt our service was rude. That is certainly never our intention. Unfortunately, as this is a very busy time of year and many tours are operating at full capacity, last minute or short notice rescheduling is difficult. Our tours are advertised as running in all weathers.
Nevertheless we apologise if you felt our customer service was unsympathetic. We hope that you found the tour guides to be professional and informative despite the weather.

The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial tour, led by Nicola, was outstanding - informative, respectful, allowing time for reflection; and Nicola told us so many things we hadn’t known before. Kept her (large) group engaged and with immaculate organisation and timekeeping (the trip involved both a train journey and bus journey).
Sadly, Nicola wasn’t leading us for tbe afternoon’s Third Reich Walking Tour - this was led by Keith and perhaps the less said, the better. The review by MichelleTravels45 of the same Combo Tour in October aligns closely with our experience.
Suffice it to say that Keith was opinionated, difficult to follow (literally in terms of seeing where he was walking to) and his delivery. The tour overran its allotted slot and we left at that point as we had not yet got to the Third Reich. (We noticed others peeling off tbe tour early),
I didn’t want to mark tbe overall Combo Tour down too much given the Dachau tour with Nicola was superb (5 stars) but have to mark down due to Keith for the Third Reich Walking Tour (1 star).

Our trip to Dachau was informative, moving and illuminating. Mark was excellent. He was friendly, courteous, affable, which made the morning a great use of time.
Our afternoon was with Josh. He is clearly well informed and opinionated. And very passionate. He didn’t want his photo taken. Fair enough, although it should be understood that if you are a tour guide, you might get photographed. He didn’t want us to take photos while he was talking. But then didn’t give us any time to take pictures before going to the next stop.
This wasn’t so much a tour as it was a lecture outside. He was the professor and we were his students. Except we are adults who may not have signed up for a class. Scolding your guests as if they are your students is bad form.
And it ran 20 minutes over time. He didn’t read the room to see many of us see really cold.

Our Dachau guide Nicola was outstanding. Her knowledge of Dachau history was great. She made the trip very worthwhile.
The second half walking tour of Munich Nazi history started poorly and did not get better. Our guide Josh told everyone no photos were allowed of him for “safety reasons”. He then walked us around Munich and stopped on the steps of a building to lecture in the hot sun for over 40 mins. We finally had to walk away before we passed out. Josh was hard to understand and rude.

Thanks for providing you honest feedback to our tours. We are sorry to read you had a negative experience with our guide who led the second tour. We repect our guides right to request not to be pohotographed on tour. As to the mentioned lecture in the sun, we encourage our guests to comunicate with our guides if they are having problems on tour, whether experiencing problems hearing or understanding them or also if they are feeling uncomfortable due to too much sun exposure. Moving to a more shaded spot is rarely an issue if our guides are made aware that customers are feeling uncomfortable. Its unfortunate you chose to just leave without mentioning anything.
Its great to read you had a worthwhile experience on the trip to the Dachau concentration camp memorial site with Nicola though.

We did the Combo Dachau and Third Reich tour with Jeff as our guide. Both were fantastic and unique in their own way. The Dachau tour provided a glimpse into what life was like in the camp and how it evolved over the years since its inception. Jeff gave the proper amount of historical background while allowing time to reflect and take everything in. After lunch we did the Third Reich walking tour. Jeff did a great job of telling us the history of Hitler and how his rise to power as we walked around the city viewing the sites where the major events took place. I highly recommend the tour and Jeff as the guide.

The Dachau tour is a must see. Our tour guide, Nicola was very informative. She definitely knows her stuff. After our tour, Nicola helped us buy tickets to Salzburg for the next day. She was just amazing!!!
We also took the walking tour. I don't recommend it. Our guide Josh was all over the board. We made a stop at the Administration Building and ended up there for 45 mins in the hot sun while Josh rambled on. At one point someone in my group took a picture of me and my husband. Josh scolded her and made her delete the picture because he was in it. At that point we were embarrassed and walked off the tour.

Many guest enjoy the in depth delivery of history our guides are able to provide, if guests are feeling uncomfortable in the sun they are most welcome to comunicate this to our guides who would I'm sure happily move to a more suitable place.
It sounds like Nicola did a great job in looking after you in the morning and we appreciate you sharing in that.

hello we are in munich from 3rd to 6th july can you let us know which date we can book this tour , we like the English speaking guide.
is there a dress code for the tour?
Written 20 June 2022
Just a fellow tourist speaking, so I am not sure on the tour dates, however there is no specific dress code that I am aware of, mostly just dress for the weather (i.e. it was hot on our tour so we wore shorts and a t-shirt/tank top) and bring water bottles since July is typically hot.

Hi, I am going later this month, it states food and drink are excluded, but are there areas for people to buy/eat during this tour or should people bring a small amount with them since the tour lasts most of the day?
Thanks.
Written 12 May 2019
The tour is actually divided into two parts with a comfortable break for lunch. It starts from the main train station in Munich, where there's no dearth of places to buy food from (one can either eat there or pick up food to go). The journey to Dachau is by train and then then a short bus ride, and there are lots of places to quickly pick up something. Further, at the entrance to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, there's a cafe. On completion of the tour to this site the tour returns by the same route to the start point (Munich train station - Hauptbahnoff) for the lunch break and the walking tour once again starts from there, leading one through the city. So, in essence, food is just not a problem!

I'll be going late July with my children. I have a few questions. Are children allowed to go? Where do you meet first? Is there a translator? I'm sorry to bother anyone.
Written 27 March 2019
Children below 16 years of age are not permitted to visit the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.
One can select the language of the tour - if I am not wrong, tours are offered in English, German and Spanish at least, and I am sure there would be other languages as well. Best to check with the tour operator as there may be specific days or a limitation of a minimum group size or something.
