About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Brandy L0 contributionsWinter MagicI would give more starts if I could! This was the most amazing tour. Jeremy and Lana were incredible tour guides with the best personalities. They gave great info in a fun manner…you know sometimes history can be boring. 🫣 The ride to the castle was smooth. Upon arrival we got a lunch break and were able to see some of the surrounding sights, to include a lake with the Alps peeking through! That was breathtaking! Then we walked about a mile, sounds daunting but there were stops along the way for the history lessons of King Ludwig II. The walk itself was stunning. Snow everywhere and just beautiful scenery. The actual castle tour isn’t long, but the inside is so intricate and the detail beautiful. At the end you must go out on the balcony by the cafe to experience the views from there (weather permitting)! All in all I would do this tour again!!Written 12 December 2024

- JourneyWithPassion0 contributionsMagical Solo Trip to Neuschwanstein Castle from DresdenMy solo trip to Neuschwanstein Castle from Dresden was incredible! I used my DB Bahncard for discounted train travel, which made the journey both affordable and comfortable. The castle itself was absolutely stunning, with its fairy-tale architecture and picturesque surroundings. The views from Marienbrücke were especially breathtaking. Highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting GermanyWritten 11 December 2024
- Robert C0 contributionsMunich Christmas Markets 2024Thomas was great, taking us through 3 of the markets and giving us the back-story on each of them. Plus a stop for Glühwein to ease the winter chill was a great idea midway through. He shared his personal insights, we took his recommendations and were not disappointed. The medieval market Flammbrot was very tasty!Written 11 December 2024
- wendyLondon0 contributionsWouldn’t take it again.Obviously, an emotional and interesting topic however we felt the 2 1/2 hour walking tour could have been compressed into one and a half hours. We walked around one large building many times! Our guide was obviously passionate about the subject but it didn’t really do it for us! Although sold as a walking tour there was an enormous amount of standing around and in 0° that was very cold. We wouldn’t do it again UnfortunatelyWritten 11 December 2024
- K8229GDjonathans0 contributionsA+ for us. The first time we both saw snow and couldn’t ask for a better experience. The tour was amazing. Our tour guides Nic and Lana were fantastic with a good sense of humour and knowledge of the castle’s history is well rounded. It had just snowed when we went and the views were magical. Nic was great at pointing out perfect spots for photo opportunities. Would highly recommend there services.Written 10 December 2024

We had a very impressive tour at Dachau with our tourguide Mark-Oliver! He spoke English very well and had a lot of information about the concentration camp. He definitely knows his history and is enthousiastic in sharing his knowledge about this topic, which made the tour even more impressive. Although Dachau is free (with even audio guides) I would definitely recommend a tourguide and specifically Mark! Because of the corona, a few locations are closed for groups and he had to improvise (normally he walks you through the museum with information), but I was impressed with all the information he had to tell us. I’m very familiar with the history of World War II, but he told us about a few things I haven’t heard before. Would recommend!!

I’ll admit - I was nervous about visiting Dachau, let alone with a group, but I was thoroughly impressed with this tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Munich. Grit handled everything professionally and respectfully - from the travel to and from the site to explaining the history of the terrible camp. I really liked that she made it a point to stress to us that it was a “memorial site” today and not a concentration camp. She made sure everyone in our group was engaged and didn’t get lost, and provided a lot of interesting facts that I wouldn’t have gotten had I gone to the site alone. I thought the time at the camp was the perfect amount of time - we got to see all the relevant buildings without feeling overwhelmed and even had a little bit of free time at the end. My group was about 15 people and I wouldn’t have wanted the group to be larger, but I understand in busier months the tour groups are larger than 15, so keep that in mind when booking. Otherwise, a great experience. Thanks Grit!

Lovely tour with a lot of knowledge from Martina, our guide.
We met at the Radius Tours office which is in a train station. It was fairly easy to find using public transportation. Make sure youre on time because the train leaves at a very specific time and doesn't show up again until an hour later. The trip is around 20 minutes with an additional 10 minute bus ride to get to the entrance of the camp.
Our guide provided a lot of information and history of the Concentration Camp, however, a lot of the camp itself was destroyed or restored. Very few original buildings remain and is more of a museum. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the heartfelt messages and the way the guide presented the information to us. She provided additional stories about her experiences as well as her parents and grandparents.
The tour lasts a few hours and ends with a brief documentary video at the camp. The video summarised the information that Martina provided and lasts around 20 minutes. The images are very thought provoking and quite sad.
Overall the tour was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Munich.
On a side note, please be respectful while attending any Concentration Camp. Thousands of people died where we as tourists stand. Taking selfies infront of monuments and grave sites is not respectful. It shouldnt need to be mentioned but we saw plenty of people posing as of theyre at a fashion runway.

Many thanks for such a thoughtful review. We appreciate your comments, but respectfully disagree on one point: today's Dachau Memorial Site does preserve many original buildings, and does convey a powerful sense of the scale and look of the historic concentration camp.

As this was our first time at a Concentration Camp, we decided to take a paid Tour (we normally are Free Walking Tours affecionados).
We were slightly confused with the meeting point (as on one side the email said in front of platform 32, and the other a street outside the station), but when we arrived we were told that the guide would be late (she had a bike accident, so for the first hour she was still shaken by it).
As we arrived (Maxine's first time doing this tour in 18 months, with covid restrictions) she pointed us old SS houses, were the last deportation train stopped and described the pictures you find in front of sites.
On the bus coming she did get some important numbers wrong (like prisoners that died on the last deportation train, nearly 3000 not a few hundred).
What annoyed us was her approach in the museum (where she wasn't allowed to guide us around). Now, I understand that in a 5h long tour, you don't have much time (like 2h) to read all the posters and stories shared in the different rooms, but expecting us to view 4 rooms in just 5 minutes is just not enough.
Also, to explain some things, she had to collect the group (7 people in total), heard them outside (in the sun, but it didn't bother us), tell and show us some pictures and then go back in), and this happened like 3 times.
Yes, I don't think we would have seen the part behind, where you had the standing cells, vip... or the story of the 4 women and bomb maker, but personally I would give at least 1:30h to visit around.
Yes, at the end of the tour, you can buy a book that has the same things written in the posters, but it not the same heart-wrenching experience of standing in the same room where thousands of people lost their dignity and identity.
From the museum, we went to see the only two bunkers left, see the change that happend (but we couldn't enter because of covid), the 3 different memorial buildings and the crematorium.
All in all, I think I recommend people to go alone, get an audioguide, and spend time looking around, because nearly all the things the guide told us (sometimes incorrect) you can find them reading the posters.

We are sorry that you did not find the experience worthwhile. We are here to give our customers an enriching and memorable experience, and regret it very much if someone feels that did not happen.
We also have great faith in our guides, and in this instance I must defend Maxine. She is one of our most experienced guides, and has been getting excellent feedback for years. If she was a little shaken by a bike accident before the tour, that can't be helped. She acted professionally and proceeded with the itinerary, and you had a full tour of all the historic buildings.
It is true that Covid regulations mean that she was unable to guide you through the Museum exhibition. That is not Maxine's fault. In such circumstances, we like to give priority to the actual historic buildings of the former concentration camp, and Maxine did that.
While the Museum exhibition is excellent, we simply do not have enough time to add 1.5 hours extra to the tour to give you time to go through all of it - and in our experience, most visitors would not want that. The tour is already 5 hours long, and in that time we bring you from Munich to Dachau and back again, and give you a comprehensive tour of the entire Memorial Site in the company of professional guides like Maxine, who are trained and authorised by the Memorial Site.
Nevertheless, thanks for your feedback. If you ever come on one of our tours in future, we hope and expect you will be happier with the experience.

The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site tour with Mark as our guide was extremely informative; and Mark delivered the review of this sobering history with great respect towards the victims of Dachau concentration camp. Taking the train and then a city bus to the Memorial site was efficient and stress-free as the tour price included all transportation tickets. Mark was easy to hear, had several visual aids, and gave us several insights beyond what could be found in the museum. The only misstep in the tour was allowing only 40 minutes in the museum when one hour is definitely needed to see all the displays with any sense of thoroughness. I highly recommend Radius Tour Company for this particular tour.

Thanks for your review. We agree that Mark is a great guide. As for your time in the Museum ... we try to balance free time with time with the guide, and access to the museum exhibition with time to see the historic buildings of the former concentration camp. Many years of experience lies behind how we do this, and we are confident our tour provides a highly memorable and educational experience.

Our guide Matt was both immensely informative and appropriately reverential while conducting our sobering tour through one of Nazi Germany’s most infamous concentration camps. I would highly recommend this tour as an enlightening day trip for a visitor to the lovely city of Munich. A quick, well organized excursion from the central train station...

The half-day tour of Dachau concentration camp is one tour I will not forget for a long time. Our guide Franz was incredibly informative and helped enrich the group's knowledge of the atrocities of the Nazi regime and the events at Dachau. The tour features a guided tour of the indoor exhibitions, whilst also includes walking the outdoor areas of the camp, from the original barracks and courtyard, to the more recent memorials at the site, as well as the site's gas chamber and cremation area. Overall this is an excellent tour and is highly recommended for anybody looking to visit Dachau for an informative and powerful trip. The departure point is easy to locate near platform 32 in Hauptbahnhof, and the train and bus journey are also included with the package and our guide Franz helped us throughout with all accommodations.

Excellent guide ‘Hein’, very knowledgable (in Dachaue only certified guides are allowed). Hein was very considerate, making sure the group of 24 stayed together in the railway stations and the bus. He also made sure that no one in the group had a problem, as the tour took longer than anticipated, due to questions raised by the group or the group wanted to spent a bit more time.

Our guide took us out to Dachau on the train. He provided a lot of interesting details that brought the site to life, sometimes in a challenging way. I had never visited a camp of any kind, but Dachau was a labour camp not a death camp even though many died there. I was really shocked and moved by the horrific waste of life especially through "experimentation"

Hello
I’ve booked this tour and it states it takes 5 hours. I was wondering if the max is 5 hours or has it gone on longer as I’m wanting to book a bus that leaves Munich at 18:00. The tours starts at 9:00 so should be back at 14:00.
Written 31 October 2022
Yes, you should be back on time with no issue... The only variable would be the train/bus to the camp, but you’d be back by 2:30p at the latest.
