About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- KyleJoelle0 contributionsGreat bikes, service and friendly staff going the extra mileI couldn’t recommend AIX BIKE and GO enough. Dialogue with Colin pre-collection was responsive and simple. We had to change our plans last minute and shorten the booking duration. This was all no problem and easily accommodated. The bikes were in great condition, new, clean and well maintained. On the day, we rented an electric bike also as well as conventional. Colin was very patient and took the time to explain the in and outs to a novice rider. Plenty of extras were included free of charge (rucksack, gloves, map, repair kit) and we were given great input on potential route options. I’ll be back in Aix in March for a few days and will certainly be renting from AIX BIKE and GO again.Written 29 January 2020

The bikes he rents operate well and even as a novice on an e-bike he explains all of proper techniques. He can provide both technical and moderate riders a great experience, great terrain and great views. I highly recommend his tours if you are visiting Aix.Written 11 August 2019

Colin supplied quality e-bikes with minimal effort climbing to the top of the hill. - NolandBB0 contributionsA must do when in Aix-en-ProvenceThis is the one of the best activities we have ever done. Colin was a great guide, we were impressed with the quality of the bikes and of course the context and scenery was unimaginable. We are casual bikers at home and had never mountain biked before—-do not be reluctant. Colin allows for practice on the ebike and gradually you are riding on paths that bring you to beautiful vistas. This treat of an experience is for all levels of biking.Written 15 July 2019
- Keith P0 contributionsGreat Bike Rental, Top Quality Bike & Friendly StaffAmazing bike rental experience. Aix Bike and GO was the only place i found in France that would rent a bike sized for my 8 and 10 year old. They were kind, courteous and very helpful. Everyone in the shop spoke perfect english. The bikes were really nice and well fitted for my kids. The shop is also located pretty close to some great road and off road biking. Thanks againWritten 11 July 2019
- Dotan H0 contributionsAmazing half-day trip!Colin was a fantastic guide and the bikes were SUPER easy to ride (for total novices who had never been mountain biking before). My wife and I would do this again in a heartbeat. It was a fantastic change of pace from the other parts of our vacation. Thanks so much Colin!Written 4 July 2019

- Bradley W0 contributionsGreat repair service and selection! My wife and I went in to have our old rusted bikes repaired. Colin was fantastic. Ordered the parts even unique ones needed, plus repaired, and cleaned and polished the bikes to look brand new! I thought the prices were very reasonable, and Colin explained everything to us. And the shop has a great selection of new bikes and accessories—for next time! Speaks English too.Written 25 May 2019
- I5224PVrobertl0 contributionsMountain Bike rental made easyI just used Aix Bike and GO for the first time and was absolutely delighted with the in store service, communications and of course the bikes we rented. We were even able to drop the bikes back off on a bank holiday to accommodate our schedule. Colin and Louis are a pleasure to work with and I thoroughly recommend the store.Written 9 May 2019
- TGR540 contributionsBike for Mont VentouxI had been talking of attempting Mont Ventoux for ages and my friend recommended I hired my bike from Aix Bike and Go. I duly made a reservation from UK and contacted them by email. Their response was rapid and helpful. At pick up Colin and his colleagues were very helpful changing pedals and tailoring the bike to my requirements and I was packed off with the bike, all the necessary spares and their best wishes. Little did I know what was to come on the climb!! The bike was excellent and makes me realise I need a new one here at home. I would recommend Aix Bike & Go to anyone contemplating the madness I undertook or for any other cycling you have in mind.Written 1 May 2019

We did this bike tour in Provence and it was an excellent choice! The tour is amazing, with wonderful views of the Saint-Victoire mountain, depicted on many screens of the Cézanne. The route is quite quiet most of the time, being a bit difficult only in some stretches of rise and descent, with many stones. I had no experience with mountain bikes or electric bikes, but our Guide Vincent, very friendly and attentive, gave me valuable safety tips. The bike is of great quality, which makes the whole journey much easier. Vincent was a great Guide and took beautiful photos of us along the way. Super recommend this bike tour!

This e-bike tour with Colin was a highlight of our trip to Aix. We rode past huge cliffs, a lake, olive trees, and lavender fields. Fresh air, incredible views, a workout (to the effort of your choosing), and interesting conversation.
The bikes were really nice quality, and we got the hang of switching gears and power levels. I wouldn’t recommend total novice bike riders or timid people, but we as infrequent city riders had a great time.
Plus, Colin is South African, a bonus for English-speaking travelers who appreciate the break from their own horrendous attempts at speaking French. 😅

Very nice route and really good support.
It was my first time on an ebike, I usually go on trips with a racing bike. It worked well though and was also pleasant on the climbs 😉
Unfortunately nobody spoke English (but I think that Colin himself often accompanies the bike tour and can speak English). Google Translate was able to help out though 👍

We had a great time.
Vincent led us, in good spirits, through the hills of ste victory and introduced us to beautiful observation points accompanied by explanations of the most interesting both geology and culture.
The quality equipment allowed us to overcome the obstacles without difficulty, even for beginners with average physical qualities.
I recommend Vincent and his activity for those who want to discover this beautiful Aix region by bicycle.

We all (teens included!) really enjoyed the bike ride. The bikes were excellent. The views were amazing and Vincent’s commentary at the stopping points were very interesting, especially about Cezanne and Picasso.

We had a great time on this tour of the stunning Saint Victoire Mountain. To see the place that artist, Paul Cezanne painted so often is quite special and the countryside is lovely. E-bikes make light work of the terrain and our guide, Colin was experienced, helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended while you’re in Aix en Provence.

Had a great experience. But, the trails were very steep and rough. Experience in mountain biking is definitely a requirement. I had biking experience on easy trails. Now, the e-bikes were definitely an asset. On a lot of uphill climbs I had gear selected in the lowest and assist on maximum. I was definitely huffing and puffing when I got to the top. I am a reasonably fit 68 year old male. My iPhone kept track of our progress. 29.5 km. And an elevation gain of 495 meters. Some parts of the downhill stretch, I had to walk the bike. Too steep and full of loose rocks.
Overall the scenery was fantastic with numerous views off the valleys. The guide was awesome with good info

Three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed a 3 hour e bike ride with Colin. The grandma in the group was especially nervous but Colin clearly instructed us on both safety and use of the bikes. It was a beautiful ride into Sainte Victoire with various stops to be wowed by the incredible views. The bikes really make the hills comfortable and although we got plenty of exercise, we were not winded upon our return. Highlight of our trip. Go for it.

Monday 4th June. Met the group and our guide Vincent, given a good briefing, good emphasis on safety, and then off. After 20mins, on tracks leading up to and around mountain. The weather was livy for this, plenty of time for photos. Great commentary from guide about Cezanne, his life and paintings, a bit on Picasso who lived nearby, marble quarries, fossils. Not rushed, plenty of safety comments from Vincent, overall a wonderful day.
Verdict - superb, tres agreable

A big thank you to Vincent (and Philippe!) for this incredible electric mountain bike ride under the sun of Provence. We were a group of 13 people and were all unanimously delighted along the way by the scenery, smells and explanations provided. The experience was splendid and we express our gratitude once again Vincent for the organization, photos and efforts made to meet our requests and adapt to our group. No hesitation possible, to do absolutely, it is a unique moment of sharing!

Hello. Could our 8 and 12 year old children participate in this tour?
Written 23 July 2019
I think the guide could tailor the ride, but I'm not sure if he would have ebikes small enough, the adult bikes were heavier than my own non ebike MTB.

Hello - could you tell me if you would allow children (ages 11, 12). They are ~149cm. There would be three of us on the afternoon of July 15th. They are athletic children and ride their bikes, play sports, dance, etc. at home. Thank you, Ranell
