We had a specific interest in the Kings Own Scottish Borderers KOSB, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders A&SH and the heroic French rearguard. Emmanuel picked us up from Hotel Borel (where members of the DUNKIRK cast stayed) and attended to our every need even arranging lunch for us. Emmanuel really brought Operation Dynamo to life for us as we walked the beaches. Places we visited Zuydcoote Crested Eagle wreck at low tide, Leffrinckoucke bunkers, Bastion 28, East Mole, Allied memorial, British cemetery, Wormoudt massacre site and the film locations. His English is very easy to understand. His energy and passion for the story of Operation Dynamo was catching. We could easily have spent a second day in Dunkirk and with Emmanuel. Would 10/10 recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in WW2 history generally as well as Dunkirk specifically. Took us to sites from Christopher Nolan's film which was very cool. Our guide, Emmanuel, hosted our tour in their vehicle which was new and comfortable. Our experience showcased many highlights of Dunkirk, and the WW2 Operation Dynamo history. We did, and saw, more than expected. We were lucky that due to a low tide we could walk on the beach and visit the shipwrecks - a fascinating addition to the tour. Movie locations were also very interesting, and on request our tour ended at the Operation Dynamo museum (another interesting experience.
Emmanuel was very knowledgeable and tailored our tour to include aspects of Australian history in the region, including the rare war graves in two locations. This tour was a highlight of our 24hrs in Dunkirk and we'd recommend it highly.

Our Tour guide was Freddie, and he was excellent. In poor weather, he navigated our car into perfect vantage points to view some of the highlights without getting out, and others with only a short walk. The depth of knowledge not only of operation Dynamo, but the history of Dunkirk added a dimension to the visit we never could have gained without him.

Emmanuel, our guide, was highly knowledgeable about the battle of Dunkirk and the evacuation of more than 338,000 Allied soldiers. We met him in front of the Musee Dunkerque 1940-Operation Dynamo (a must-see). We used our vehicle to access the numerous sites in Dunkirk. Emmanuel not only imparted a great deal of information about the battle, but he was also able to answer all our questions. He also covered the making of the 2017 movie about the evacuation, which was fascinating. I highly recommend taking this tour. You will not be disappointed.

We had a fascinating few hours on the tour. Fred was excellent and communicated the history with passion and colour. He was really good at explaining to all of us, young and old(!) the history and reality of the fighting. It really brought it to life. I appreciated the efforts he made to engage the younger members of the family too.

Visiting the museum has been an unforgettable experience. I have rarely seen such a compelling, detailed and riche war exhibition. The uniforms, the weapons, the pictures and the descriptions are absolutely accurate and of top notch level. It is also very close to the actual beaches were the dynamo operation took place. It's touching, historically relevant and simply fabulous. The staff working there is also very affable and helpful. And it's not expensive.

What a wonderful experience! Four of us took the tour- myself, my son in law, and two grandsons. Our tour guide, Elise, was fluent in English, energetic, and kind. She was a marvelous instructor about the Battler of Dunkirk- the relationship between the English and the French, the difficulties experienced with the evacuation, and the impact on the cities of both Calais and Dunkirque. We thoroughly enjoyed the two hour tour. The trip to the cemetery was particularly moving. We shared, in a small way, the sorrow of the parents and family of the fallen heroes with the messages on the tombstone crosses. A heartfelt thank you to Dynamo Tour and especially to Elise for sharing her wealth of knowledge about such an historic event. We could not have been more satisfied.

The visit and ride in the luxury minibus was fabulous.
The guide was very informative and made the history of the Dunkirk battle and evacuation come alive. He added insights into the battle and the film made of it.
We were taken to key areas around the Dunkirk battlefield and ended up at the war graves of the fallen.
The trip was very worthwhile and something we would recommend.

Thank you very much to our guide Fred Debuisne, we were very appreciative of his knowledge and ability to bring the spirit of Dunkirk alive during our private tour. A private tour is around 2 hours and should be on everyone's agenda. We visited the Operation Dynamo the afternoon before the tour and this helped us to retain the stories shared by Fred. He brought with him maps, photos and documents which helped tie everything he was saying together.

Emotional visit on one of the landmarks of WW 2. A history lesson teaching us how to always remember facts that should never happen again. Even if there is no guide, the museum is so rich in artefacts. Do it even if you are not a history addicted person.

We had a brilliant tour. Our guide Freddie had a lot of really indepth knowledge and a great way of telling stories. Would definitely recommend whether you already know a bit about the history or (like me) not very much at all.

Wir würden die ´Tour mit dem eigenen Bus antreten. Allerdings sind wir ca. 20 Personen und können bei der Auswahl jedoch nur 9 Erwachsene auswählen. Muss die Tour mit dem eigenen Bus dann 3x gebucht werden oder nur 1x pro forma für 9 Personen?

Hallo und vielen Dank für Ihre Anfrage. Wir können das Besuch an bord Ihres Bus machen. Für Gruppen ist es eine bessere Idee um den Website Dunkirk Tourism zu besuchen um so einen Termin für das Besuch auszumachen.
Sie können auch auf Tripadvisor buchen (wählen sie "Besuch an bord Ihres Fahrzeugs". Aber dann können wir nicht garantieren dass ein Deutschsprachicher Führer verfügbar ist.
