          Honoring 100th anniversary of WWI
Nicola served as our guide on a two-day tour through the Somme region battlefields and Ypres on September 10-11, 2018. My sister and I were the only people on her tour, making it even more personal. She was very personable, knowledgeable, and engaging. Nicola seemed to know everything about World War I and at the battlefields and cemeteries we were visiting. When she didn’t know something such as the relationship between hectares and acres, she acknowledged that she didn’t know the answer and them promptly looked up the information. Although we were on a World War I tour of Western Front areas, Nicola didn’t seem to mind as we asked her questions about her experience living as a Brit in France, Napoleon, the Eastern Front of World War I, Brexit, etc. She was charming, but didn’t ask as if she were trying to earn a bigger tip or receive a positive review. I can’t say enough good things about Nicola and our tour. Speaking of the tour, I should mention that we loved the selection of sites to visit. We knew about the Menin Gate before we went on the tour, but we didn’t really have an appreciation for other places that we visited before going on the tour. Nicola had a good sense of how long to stay at each site. We never felt hurried, but were rewarded for spending time trying to understand the magnitude of the losses and the depth of emotional responses from the countries that were honoring their dead. This is a review by my sister, with whom I traveled.

          Full Day Normandy Tour
This tour was absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful tour guide who described our surroundings, historical events, and landmarks from the moment we left Paris to the moment we returned, which broadened our understanding of all the areas we got to know on this trip. Once in Normandy, the visit to the museum was inspirational as it continued with a show and rooms including pictures and articles from WWII and at times, it was possible to believe one had gone back in time. Walking the beach at Normandy and seeing the different landing sites is something that mere reading (which I have done a lot of or movies) cannot fully express, and our visit to the American Cemetery-memorial and seeing the rows of all the young men and women who fought and died for freedom was breath-taking and inspirational. Upon our return to Paris, we arrived just when the Eiffel Tower lights started sparkling and twinkling 9pm which was an awesome sight. Highly recommend this tour-a long day, but well worth it!

Private Versailles and Paris Tours - Private transfers
We booked a full day, private tour of Versailles and the Trianons as well as a half day city tour of Paris for myself and four family members (all adults). Our guide and driver, Jean, was superb. Not only immensely knowledgeable regarding the history of Versailles specifically and French history in general, but also a wonderfully pleasant person and a pleasure to spend time with. I can't overstate how informative and pleasant Jean's tours were. He really made the tours memorable. Definitely recommend at least a full day for Versailles and the Grand and Petit Trianon. Wear comfortable shoes as there's a great deal of walking. We also booked several private transfers between Charles de Gaulle, our apartment and various venues throughout Paris. The Touring France drivers were all pleasant and immaculately on time. We had a five person party with one wheel chair and everything was fully accommodated.

          Tour of the Normandy Beaches
I was traveling with a group of ten from the United States. We were picked up at our hotel in Paris with a driver (Sammy) and an English speaking tour guide (Frederic). Our trip was a long day, 12 hours in all, but Frederic was amazing. His knowledge of the area, of the D-Day beaches, of the war in general was unbelievable. The day flew by. The American Cemetery absolutely took my breath away and brought tears to the eyes of all of us. Pictures in books and on television do it no justice. It is a must-see for American tourists! I highly recommend this entire tour and company...they were so easy to deal with and readily available to answer any questions. Emails were answered promptly and I received a few phone calls from Claire before we left the States just to be sure I didn't have any more questions or concerns. Thank you for such a memorable experience! Debbie

          Paris for the day!
Overall wonderful communication in booking the tour and determining what we wanted to see in our day in Paris! Gwen met us right at the train terminal and we were off. We learned so much in a short amount of time. Would highly recommend this company for a personal guided tour. So easy to work with especially as I was communicating with them from the states.

Great tour of the Normandy Beaches
Never having been to the D-Day beaches, I wanted to have a tour guide to show us around. Jonathan was amazing. His knowledge was far deeper than we could take advantage of. He knew what battalion or squadron arrived at what beach at what time, how many German soldiers they were up against, what the complications were, etc We also visited the American Cemetary which was breathtaking and where again Jonathan knew more than we expected. We learned so much.He was also a very pleasant person to spend the day with. If you are expecting basically a driver, you could probably book that somewhere else. if you want a knowledgeable guide, he's your person. The company was easy to work with and good about following up with me when I got caught up in other things to make sure that we got the tour booked properly. Couldn't recommend them more highly.

          Best tour company in France!
Last year I visited France with my daughter and Claire went out of her way to make sure we had an amazing time! She arranged all of our transportation and private tours! We went from Paris to the Lavender Fields, we also had a tour of Versailles, all the drivers and guides were very nice, very prompt, & very helpful. Claire went out of her way to make sure every detail was covered. We had an incredible time thanks to Claire and her amazing customer service! We came back to France this year and Claire arranged another tour(last minute) for my daughters from Paris to the Lavender Fields-another trip of a lifetime! They were well taken care of every step of the way and had a wonderful time! The guide was great, and everything went according to schedule! I will definitely use this service every time I visit Paris and will recommend them to all my friends!

          A week in Provence
Our family group of 12 rented a villa in Provence for a week. We decided not to rent vehicles but try to find a tour company that could provide airport transfers, recommend daily tours and provide daily transportation with English speaking guides. We found Waticar in an online search and emailed them. They responded with a detailed questionnaire requesting our wants and needs. Based upon our answers, Claire and Christelle of Waticar prepared a fantastic itinerary for our entire trip. Each day was a unique adventure, tailored specifically to our group. Our drivers/guides intelligent, patient, flexible with time and very friendly to our group throughout the week. Our daily itinerary even included a delicious prepaid lunch in local restaurant. We have toured other areas in Europe over the last 10 years and I can honestly say that Waticar is the best tour company we have ever worked with. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Their service was excellent from start to finish. Fred V.

          France Tour
We (a group of 12) used WAITICAR for a 14 night tour over France with private guides and transfers. All the services were outstanding. If there was a glitch, someone from their office was there to assist us - it was an absolutely perfect trip - well organized, very informative with excellent guides and choices!

          Day trip to Normandy
Our day trip to Normandy, while long because of the distance was wonderful. Our driver was exceptional, the car arrived right on time and was very comfortable. Our driver/guide was exceptional. His knowledge was wonderful, as well as entertaining and engaging. He was flexible to accommodate our desire to make some changes. We were two couples and couldn't have asked for a better experience.

          Anzac Day 2014
Our party of six hired Waticar to take us on a great guided tour in our own 8 passenger van of Amiens and the Villers-Bretonneux memorial. Added were excursions to Vignacourc cemetery, Pozieres, the Lochnagar Crater memorial, and the Victoria School. Our guide was Sabastian who is fluent in English, Spanish and French. Sebastian is a must, he is a university educated history major and taught history in secondary school before becoming a tour guide. If you enjoy history you will not be disappointed with him as your guide. And he knows all the newances of negotiating with Anzac Day security forces to get you into special places faster than the barrage of tour busses.
