    Musee d'Orsay
Stop: 2 hours - Admission excluded
Let's dive into one of france's most wonderful museums, the orsay museum. If you are visiting Paris, this is the one place to not miss. Meet your guide at the ' elephant sculpture' located just outside the museum, skip the long lines and discover a world of rebellious artists. In 1874, a group known as the Anonymous Society of Painters, Sculptors and Engravers  presented an exhibition in Paris that would bring about a radical break from artistic conventions and launch one of the most popular movements in art history. Their works were considered scandals and critics would treat them as crazy. It’s hard to imagine, now, that the quality of brushwork or the choice of subject in a painting could shock viewers, but for 19th-century Paris, these paintings represented something akin to a revolution. In this visit both adults and children will discover  not only masterpieces such as Manet's Olympia, Monet's Poppy field, Degas's ballet dancers or Van Gogh's bedroom  but also a unique life story hidden behind each of these daring painters who fought to obtain recognition.

Cinthia was our guide to the Orsay Masterpieces. She is a gifted teacher, and her "lessons" as our small group tour went through the museum were very informative. As an art major, I learned many facts that I had not been exposed to when I was in college. She led us through the galleries, showing the development of art and the various techniques of artists from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century, when the Impressionist Movement got started. By focusing attention on works that were emblematic of a particular period or artist, she gave us an excellent overview of the art of the period. I can't recommend this tour enough for anyone who wants to learn about how the Impressionists, who are now so familiar and whose art commands high prices, came to develop the techniques that were misunderstood and reviled during their lives.

We did a two-hour tour of the Orsay with Cinthia with our three children 5, 7, 9. We were incredibly impressed at how Cinthia kept the kids engaged and how well planned the tour was. My husband and I were learning from her, and we were also seeing what a huge difference it makes to visit the museum with an expert who has experience with children. I only wish we had been able to do more tours with her.

The tour was very good but beware that the price does not include the admission and you need to buy your own tickets. All 6 of us had no idea that this was necessary and it caused confusion and delays—I suggest that the tour company change this in the future. It makes no sense.the tour was very interesting and gave lots of great information about the history of MO and how it came about. Loved the tour!

My wife and I were the only people booked for this tour today and our guide Cinthia Rameriz is well educated on the artists represented here in this beautiful building. We were informed of various aspects with the artists and their work on display and the acceptance or social impacts the work had etc. Cinthia was very informative and explained the different styles e.g. realism, impressionism etc in a easily understood way. I advise anyone wanting to visit the Museum to consider taking the guided tour. We came away with a more informed appreciation of art from this period!

Our tour through the highlights of the d'Orsay's masterpieces was terrific. Our guide Cinthia Ramirez has an extensive knowledge of all the artists whose work featured in this tour - their lives, their loves, and what motivated them at the time the works were created. With Cinthia's passionate explanations we didn't need any prior knowledge to really appreciate all that we saw, but we certainly came away wanting to learn more. Highly recommended.

This tour with Cinthia Ramirez was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. She is one of the most amazing knowledgeable tour guides of D’ORSAY Musée you’ll get. We highly recommend you request her as your tour guide. She’s a true historian.

This is a must see tour and our tour guide Cinthia Ramirez was so knowledgeable and passionate about the works in this museum. She is not only a painter but an art historian that makes you aware of what was going on in the art world during this period.

You do skip the entry and security lines and jump right in. After discussing the history of the building and museum, Cinthia provides a great explanation of the layout of the museum. Then you dive deep into several selected pieces that explain the development of expressionism. We got great photos from the picturesque locations. After the tour we stayed to see the remaining exhibit halls. So much better than an audio tour because she is so knowledgeable.

As others have noted this tour begins and ends with the personage of Cinthia Ramirez. She ADORES her topic. For example, on our tour she saw a few paintings that were brought out of the museum's vaults and put on display for the first time in a long time. I'm telling you, if you told me I won the PowerBall I don't think I'd display as much happiness as Cinthia did when she saw those paintings! I also loved how she described conflict within the artistic community, conflict within the larger community and how each was represented in the paintings. Fascinating! Do yourself a favor a book a tour with this engaging, knowledgeable and fiery feminist!
