Our expert guide will meet you at the North Entrance of the Cemetery. We use this trick so that you will walk all the way down this high hill instead of climbing up from the below. Using special shortcuts to discover the most evocative landscapes and the unbeaten paths, we'll manage to visit a 44 hectares labyrinth in a couple of hours without missing any of the gravestones of important people buried here. A small group will allow you to customize your experience and to indulge into special requests. Your tour concludes at Porte du Rèpos very close the Philippe Auguste (Line 2) and Pere Lachaise (Line 2 and 3) metro stops. If needed our guide will take you to a very close taxi stand.

    Great guide. Great experience.
Myself, my wife, and a friend had a private two hour tour of Pere Lachaise with Alberto. He was a wonderful guide. We provided him with a list of our "must see" graves, and he expertly wove a path through the cemetery to show us each one, as well as many others he felt would interest us. And at each grave he had a great story about the person. We had tried seeing the cemetery on our own previously and had a very frustrating time. With Alberto it was a joy and we learned much. We enthusiastically can recommend Les Necro Romantiques for an expert tour of Pere Lachaise. Thank you Alberto!

    A must see in Paris!
We scheduled a private tour with Alberto. What a treat! Not only is Pere Lachaise a beautiful place, but Alberto is interesting and knowledgeable. We had no agenda and preferred that Alberto show us what he wanted to show us. It was amazing! I can’t imagine visiting the cemetery without a guide. Alberto seemed very passionate about the history of the place. I highly recommend! Our tour was in English.

    Great Tour with Alberto
The private tour with Alberto in English was outstanding. Before the tour, I sent him the graves I was most interested in, and he put together a custom itinerary. We ended up seeing all the ones I'd requested plus the usual famous ones like Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, etc. Alberto knows the cemetery like the back of his hand and tells many interesting anecdotes. Père Lachaise is huge and labyrinthine, so it's unlikely you'll find all the graves you want to see without a guide. Alberto was very generous with his time, and the hours flew by. He also offers tours to the catacombs and the Louvre. I definitely plan to take more tours with him when I return to Paris.

    Well worth it!
We had a magnificent tour with Alberto. He added so much to the "basic" knowledge found online or in books. He even had an iPad at the ready to add visuals and music. At the end of the tour, he directed us to the excellent "L'Ami Justin" for lunch. All in all a perfect jaunt.

Don’t miss Père Lachaise, don’t do it without a guide !
The Père Lachaise cemetery is a beautiful and peaceful door to explore both the Parisians and the human condition, but it is a maze. Without a good guide, you’ll spend most of your time with your nose in a map desperately looking for Piaf, Wilde or Morrison. Don’t! Take a guided tour. We went with Thierry (in French) on a chilly February Sunday and it was fantastic. His team also does tours in English which I am sure are also great. Thank you, Thierry!

Two Hours Flew By With Alberto
Excellent! Alberto took a few minutes to learn about us and our interests before we began. We covered a large area and learned a lot about the famous and not so famous. So glad we decided on the tour rather than our own - we would have missed out on the wonderful stories and would not have been able to see as much.

Go to the Cemetery with Alberto!
I had an excellent tour with Alberto et Les Necroromantiques. I've heard about them from French newspapers and blogs and what they say is true: it's a completely different approach to the history of the Cemetery. All these characters from the past were suddenly alive. We were a very small group and he tailored the tour according to everyone's wishes and interests. Paolo

    Fantastic Tour
We recently took this tour in Paris and found it to be amazing, Our guide was Alberto who knows everything about the site he is so interesting in so many fields of Art and History and has lots of fascinating and sometimes spooky real life and death tales to tell. Do yourself a favor if you are considering a visit and book Alberto as the grave site is so large you can cover all the important sites instead of wandering around in circles looking for Jim Morrison's grave like We saw other people do.

    Amazing insight into Pere Lachaise!
We had a tour with Alberto while visiting Paris from the US. He tailored our tour to the writers, artists, and historical events that WE were interested in, and we had such a pleasant, relaxed, and fun stroll through a beautiful place! Thanks Alberto, we'll definitely be back!

    Cimetiere Pere Lachaise
Alberto was our guide for the English speaking tour. In addition to his outstanding knowledge he brought a wit and sense of humor to the 1.5 hours that was delightful. We would definitely recommend the company.

Thierry Le Roi knows his stuff
Fascinating. You have to have a good command of French and the French culture, but if you do, you will learn a lot from this guided tour. Thierry Le Roi is a gentleman, and happy to help guide you to your favorite tomb.

There is so much to see that 2 hrs. is simply not enough time. Our guide, Alberto, has been doing tours for over 10 years and has incredible knowledge of the cemetery. We had a small group (4 people), so the attention received may have been greater than normal. The stories and history behind many of the graves was explained well, and we walked away with a deeper understanding of the cemetery.

My only rub is how to navigate through the cemetery. There are many twists and turns - you start at the top of a hill (basically) and work your way down slowly. If you have trouble navigating small spaces (in between graves), just be mindful of this.

The walking tour was really interesting and themed on the macabre. Which is only fitting for a cemetery. Our guide was knowledgeable and told great stories, and showed us some out of the way tombs of people I didn't know but now I'm glad i do. First rate all the way.

Thierry was a wonderful host. I think I was the only American in the group, and he made me feel right at home. He gets the whole group involved.
Its really a performance. I can't imagine getting all the information he conveys elsewhere. The history of the cemetery, the anecdotes, and even a little naughtiness which he delivers with a wink. He's got the voice. A smooth, elegant, articulate delivery. We had to leave a little early and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. But I noticed several in the group were taking the tour for a second time! That's the best review of all. Finally, it was a brisk end of January day. But sunny. There were patches of green. Pere Lachaise is not a dismal place. There's a good vibe there, and if you want to experience the real Paris (I'm an expat who's lived here for 20 years but my first visit), then I advise Thierry's tour. (Its also affordable) I've been missing out!

I'm glad we took this highly informative & fun group tour of the Pere Lachaise cemetery with a guide (Roberto). I had a hard time finding a group tour of the cemetery. Most of the tour companies did not offer one or had discontinued it. I was informed by a tour agency and hotel to go "on my own." However, I was lucky to have found this tour online and am happy I did. I would have never been able to find the graves own my own as the cemetery is big and quite a maze!

I am thankful for Roberto and his assistance. Because of him, I was able to see & pay tribute to the some of the graves & its inhabitants (i.e., Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Chopin, Jim Morrison). The 2-hour, guided tour went by fast but was enough time to see what I needed.

It was great listening to some of stories of the people buried there and history of Pere Lachaise. The cemetery appears to be around the outskirts of Paris, and we took a cab to get there (you can also take the metro).

Highly recommend this informative tour!!! Allows you to see & explore another side of Paris and its history. Thank you, Roberto, for the wonderful tour!

Heard great stories about the history of people residing in Pere Lachaise, and even of some of the folks who come to visit them! It’s a beautiful cemetery, the mausoleums are amazing in their architecture. Wonderful tour for learning some of the history of France.

I wasn't sure that a trip to Pere Lachaise Cemetery was the very best present for my friend's birthday, but this tours led by Avi was absolutely fantastic. He was well informed and gave us so much information, without ever patronising or veering into mock comedic stand-up routine. Respectful, interesting and always fun, we had a two-hour tour and didn't get bored for one moment. Be prepared for some amusing and adult anecdotes as well as the sombre monuments to the Holocaust victims and resistance fighters.

This is an historical treasure. You will find the graves of Chopin, Napoleone's sister, Bugatti, Jim Morrison and other greats.
You can puck up a map at the entrance as the cemetary is huge!!!
Wear comfortable walking shoes as the ground is very uneven and there are lots of stairs.
It is a peaceful, quiet and slow paced excursion.
