Overview

Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Le Marias on this guided food-tasting walking tour. As you stroll through this historic, trendy Paris neighborhood, meet local artisans and food vendors while making up to 10 stops at fine food and specialty shops. Pass the Hôtel de Ville, Saint-Paul Saint-Louis Church, and the Marché des Enfants Rouges sampling wine, cheese, macarons, and more along the way.

What to Expect

Meet your guide and small group (maximum 10 people) in the center of the Le Marais district. Learn from your guide about the artisanal French cuisine and culinary specialties from surrounding countries that make this historic area a fascinating and delicious place to explore.

Walk from shop to shop and experience the trendy district while sampling regional wines and cheese and, of course, baguettes. Continue past top neighborhood sights like the French Renaissance–style Hôtel de Ville and 17th-century Saint-Paul Saint-Louis Church, and browse the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the city’s oldest covered market (established in 1628). Along the route you’ll also sample cured meats, jams, and traditional macarons made by acclaimed chocolatiers.

This tour offers convenient morning and evening departure times, and includes food and wine tastings.

Great Tour

This tour was really wonderful, detailed and informative. Eric was charming and a lot of fun. Make sure you come hungry and wear good walking shoes. The only thing I would change is that instead of the Corsican stop I would have preferred a crepe,...More

Wonderful introduction to LeMaraism

Eric was a super guide with an encyclopedic memory of all things French. Our group was small so there was continuous conversation. Much good wine, cheese, meats, superior chocolates, topped with a Pierre Hermè macaron. Great fun and highly recommended.

The tour guides did ask if anyone had special diets and/or diet restrictions. I think they have alternate plans in case this happens. But, honestly, a few of the places we visited were not for vegatarians, and others were... More

My feeling is that in the morning the shopowners are more attentive to the tours and products are fresher. In the afternoon everybody is more tired, some products are not the best and streets are dirtier.
