Highlights
  • An insider's walking tour through Montmartre
  • Perfect for art-lovers: Discover landmarks related to Picasso and Van Gogh
  • Each group is capped at eight people for an intimate experience
  • Learn stories and legends of Montmartre's famous artist residents
What to expect
  • Join up with your guide and a group that caps out at eight people at a central Montmartre location. Begin with the world’s most iconic cabaret: the Moulin Rouge, whose feisty French dances—including the cancan—inspired generations of painters. Montmartre is still a lively community, and your local guide shows you the best of the quarter’s cafes, shops, and hidden street art as you discover landmarks such as Au Lapin Agile, Picasso’s favorite hangout. Listen to stories from the unruly golden age of Paris’s bohemian artists as you walk past the former residences of Van Gogh and Renoir, once fixtures in the neighborhood. You conclude your tour at the spectacular Place du Tertre, still home to a large community of outdoor artists. Admire the ornate exterior of the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur while you gaze at a panorama of the legendary French capital.

Montmartre back streets tour
Feb. 2020
I was so lucky to get to have this tour with a wonderful guide who I believe her name was Kristina. This was supposed to be a group tour but the family that was going to be with us, cancelled. I was so pleased that she was okay to continue as a solo tour. It was a beautiful walk through the hills of Montmartre and the history of the area. I am sorry that I did not write down the name of the guide who gave a me a wonderful tour.

Perfect!
Nov. 2019
I booked a private tour for me, my daughter and my two grandchildren who are 8 and 7. We met Phillipe at the Moulin Rouge. He was early and standing exactly where we expected to find him. The tour was excellent. Phillipe shared a wealth of information about the area. He was totally prepared for two squirmy kids and did an excellent job of engaging them the whole time. I recommend this company without hesitation. Outstanding experience.

A great way to explore Montmartre
Jul. 2019 • Couples
Had a fantastic tour around the back streets and main streets of Montmarte. Being a small group our local guide was able to talk to us about this fantastic area of Paris that she had grown up in. She showed us art, homes, shops and how the local people live as well as giving us a detailed outline of the history of the area. There were no corny jokes or rehearsed script and our guide tailored the tour to our interests and fitness level. Would highly recommend this tour.

Great little walk around a historical part of Paris
Feb. 2019 • Couples
This was the first walking tour I'd been on and was a little hesitant to book it.
But I'm glad I did. It was most enjoyable. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. She explained lots of interesting facts about Montmarte , both historical and contemporary,
The walk wasn't difficult with frequent stops.
Definitely recommended

One of our best tours
Dec. 2018 • Couples
The guide was GREAT, he was wonderful!! He told us so much about the area, why it was so risque (Paris taxes & Hausmann), why artist, how the people lived, uprising and why it's Mont Martre. We went on a freezing cold day in December but it was marvelous. Be sure, though, to put on good walking shoes. This is not a leisure stroll down the Champes de Lysee.
After the walking tour we asked for a local cafe where we could eat. He told us one that he visits sometimes. About 25 minute walk, 15 minute to wait for a table - but it was worth it. Not fancy, just excellent.

Our guide Bianca was great, sharing a lot of interesting facts along the walk. The area itself is beautiful and I would love to see it back in spring time.

Don't miss the Montmartre tour!
Oct. 2018 • Couples
Thank you again for suggesting your wonderful Montmartre tour. Alexandria was perfect – very friendly, dynamic and funny. She took her time to talk to all participants and give them recommendations on their stay but still pointing all the interesting spots on the way. Both me and my husband had a great time even if the weather got pretty cold at the end of the tour! We are looking forward to our Catacombs experience!
