Enjoy visiting Castles in the fog of winter
Tour is very worthwhile and the ighlights are the two castles and the town of Blois. Our guide Gonar gave a primer on the history behind the owners of the Castles and it is quite interesting. The self guided castle tours provide enough info to visit at your pace. The town of Blois is a perfect stop for lunch and the restaurant Annie's, recommended by our guide, is excellent. The wines we tasted were not my favorites and the only reason I didn't give five stars.

    Needed more time
Had an amazing tour guide Goran. The castles were amazing but I wish we had more time at each one. The wine tour was fun and informative but wished we could have seen more of the production of the wine. All in all it was a fun tour.

    Delightful Day around France
Other than the weather, which can’t be controlled, all my expectations were met and more. The sites we visited were great and our guide, Goran was top-notch. I would highly recommend this tour. It provides a full day of entertaining experiences.

    Great Intro to the Louvre!
Maryam was wonderful, with a great depth of knowledge about each peace she showed us! It was my first time at the Louvre and I brought my teen daughters. I highly recommend this tour so you’re not overwhelmed!

    Large group tour
What a nice idea- the tour was for a very large group and it missed some of the promised things, not at the control of the tour company. The tour company though can limit the numbers of the group.

    Just Do It!
Absolutely loved our time at the Louvre. We went in a group of ten and our guide was so knowledgeable and engaging. I'd recommend going to the first morning session to beat the crowds.

Maryam was our tour guide, she was very knowledgable and great at guiding the group. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. After the tour had finished she was even so kind as to direct me and my partner to another part of the museum.

    A must do tour
Certainly a tour that anyone who visits Paris should do! Our guide ,mrs.Florence was really good !If i could though, i would pick the am tour(instead of 2.30 pm) so we can have afterwards more time on our own to explore all areas that Louvre offers. Based though on the tour we bought everything was really good and worth to do!

A Magical and Mysterious Night in Paris!
I recently joined the Paris by Night Walking Tour: Ghosts, Mysteries and Legends, and it was an amazing experience! The unique stories and evening atmosphere made it much more enjoyable than typical tours. Our guide, Kritika, shared the tales in such an engaging way, which made the tour even more memorable. I’m really happy to have had this experience—it became a wonderful memory for me!

John Price is our guide, I took my children (12, 18 and 22) for a three-week trip in Europe and this is one of the most personable, informative and entertaining experiences we had. John is definitely knowledgeable about history, and he was passionate to share valuable history events in a story telling format that is easy to understand and entertaining. We learned about World Wars, history of France, Germany and Normandy, he made the ride more enjoyable and made our purpose at Normandy more memorable.
I know from many tour experiences,John has done above and beyond what’s required as a guide, we appreciated him so much, this excursion with John at Normandy marks an exclamation mark for our trip in Paris.

The tour and overall experience was terrific! Our guides, Minnie and John were a great team. Minnie kept us organized and on time while John shared the history and stories. He had a tremendous amount of detail but also made it interesting and kept us all engaged. He truly was an expert on D Day but also had many historical details and stories that complemented D Day and provided very interesting details. He also did a good job engaging with the group making it fun.

The cider tasting was also an interesting addition to the trip and provided additional details on the region. It tasted good too.

I highly recommend Minnie and John if you want interesting stories, details and perspectives as well as being on time and running smoothly.

I am not a history buff and tend to fall asleep in historical movies, but this tour was extraordinary and left a lasting impression.
John explained history in a way that I actually grasped. He made every experience 10x better with his vivid explanations which made me ponder and even laugh at times.
This well-planned tour was exceptional. We hit major stops, but we’re able to avoid crowds with John’s approach. One of my favorite moments was witnessing Taps at the American Cemetery.
This was a small group with a very large, and comfortable bus to spread out on. There were ample breaks and easy walking paths. Lunch with the cider/calvados tasting tour was not distracting from the history, but made me appreciate Norman traditions and culture outside of war. I was surprised at how much we were able to taste!
I highly recommend this tour, but John also hosts wine and champagne tastings, Mont-Saint-Michel visits, and food tours. If I had more time, I would immediately book more!

I was very disappointed in this tour. Despite it being a full 14 hour tour, the way it was scheduled made for extremely short visits at the historical sites. I wish they had skipped the cider tasting and spent longer at the WWII sites we signed up to see. For example, we only had 40 minutes at the American cemetery which was barely enough time to walk in & get back to the bus before it left. I literally had to power walk through the Utah beach museum in order to not get left behind by the group. Also, our guide gave us zero information at each site. I had to linger near other tour groups to learn anything, our “guide” was essentially a chaperone just there to make sure we got on & off the bus on time. If you’re interested in learning anything, I’d recommend paying a more to do a different tour with a small group or as a private experience.

Hi Ccarsman, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches Day Trip with Cider Tasting & Lunch from Paris. We appreciate your comments and apologize for any disappointment you experienced during the tour. We understand that the short visits at the historical sites and limited time at the American cemetery were not ideal for a comprehensive exploration of these significant locations. We regret if the scheduling did not allow for a more immersive experience at the WWII sites that you signed up to see. Your feedback regarding the allocation of time and focus on the cider tasting is valuable to us, and we will take it into consideration as we review and enhance our tour itineraries. We apologize if the information provided by your guide fell short of your expectations. Our aim is to provide knowledgeable and engaging guides who can offer insights and historical context at each site. We will address your concerns with our guide management to ensure that future guests receive a more informative experience that is more reflective of our quality standards. Your feedback helps us improve our offerings and cater to the preferences and expectations of our valued guests. Thank you again for your feedback, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with an improved tour experience in the future. Best regards, Edgar J. Communications Manager City Wonders

My fiancé and I took the Normandy D-Day trip with John. Our experience was excellent. John was very knowledgeable (we got both WWII history and the history of France), friendly, and made sure that our time at each site was maximized. In fact, we ran into a traffic jam that required a 1 hour detour on the way to Normandy. Without missing a beat, John arranged for the cider for the cider tasting to be delivered to our lunch spot so as to ensure that we got back to Paris on time. If you’re a person who wants to spend hours at each site, this tour is not for you. But, if you want to see what Normandy has to offer and get some great information with a knowledgable tour guide, we highly recommend.

Highly recommend this day trip from Paris. It starts quite early in the morning, but you get a chance to nap on the bus and get some coffee at the rest stop before the storytelling begins. Our guide, John, was very knowledgeable about WW1 and WW2 history and made sure that everyone was comfortable (adequate bathroom breaks) throughout the whole day. One of the best parts was John drawing a map in the sand in Utah Beach and describing the events that occurred on d-day and the following weeks. Standing there, where it happened, looking up and down the coast - it all comes to life. All of the stops were great. Btw, we didn’t get it, but we thought the fish lunch option looked the tastiest!

John Price was my tour guide and I really enjoyed the tour because you can tell how passionate he is about subject matter. As someone such as myself who has taken World War 2 History classes and read/watched multiple forms of media on world war 2 and world history, I still came away with some new factoids and other things that I didn’t even know! I also appreciated how thorough he was at the sites. The only drawback I had (and it wasn’t against the guide) was that I wish we had a couple more minutes at the sites, even 5 more minutes, specifically the museum at the beginning and the cemetery at the end. My wife and I had just enough time to speed through both and get the gist of everything, but wished we had a few more minutes to slow it down a little bit to process. Besides that, great tour and would definitely recommend to others

Horrible!!!!

Bucket list item NOT CHECKED because of a no-show tour guide!

The large group arrived at the meeting spot on/tine or early in the 37 degree weather. We waited and no one came!

The bus was across the street but the drivers wouldn’t let us get in out of the cold because there was no tour guide, so we stood there for overan hour FREEZING.

We tried calling City Wonders ourselves and so did the bus driver. After being disconnected multiple times and getting no help or status ourselves from City Wonders, finally the buss driver was able to get through and was told to cancel the trip because they could not find a tour guide.

City Wonders did not proactively reach out to me to offer up a refund. I did submit a request for a refund and it is supposedly being done. Many of the people there were complaining that they were expecting to be reimbursed for their Uber/ taxi fares to/ from the meeting point. I doubt that City Wonders will make them whole.

There are too many tour companies in Paris to take a chance on this “fly by night” outfit. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you do risk it.

Hi L6152TUmichaelp, We sincerely apologize for the unacceptable experience you had with our Normandy D-Day Landing Beaches Day Trip. This is indeed a rare occurrence, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the no-show tour guide. We understand the frustration of standing in the cold for an extended period, and we apologize for the lack of communication and assistance during that time. We have already processed a full refund for your tour, and we are actively investigating and addressing the issues that led to this unfortunate situation. Regarding reimbursement for additional expenses such as Uber or taxi fares, we are reviewing each case individually and will strive to make things right for all affected customers. We appreciate your patience and understanding. This incident falls well below our usual standards, and we are taking immediate steps to ensure it doesn't happen again. We value your feedback, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future. If you have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out, and we'll do our best to assist you. Kind regards, Edgar J. City Wonders

Overall the trip was fine.
First there was no guide at the pickup point with a "sign". We were on the wrong side and he walked by with a group never thinking we might be waiting for him. And then it was hard to get his attention so we could check if he was our guide. He knew people were missing and really didn't make an effort to look for anyone nearby who might be in the wrong place. Fortunately we managed to chase him down.
I think the cider excursion could be cut in favor or more time at the Utah museum and elsewhere. That was pretty rushed. And he allowed us to drive by Normandy since we had time but I think the tour should include a stop there.
Finally the lunch was awful. A slice of ham with brown gravy and French fries? Ugh. The pizza were huge and many people didn't eat all if it. I think the fish was fine although small, and again with fries. That's it? And the dessert was minuscule and very dry. No offer of soft drink or any other options than water or hard cider. The service was fast, however.
Our guide was nice enough and provided a lot of information.
He did ask everyone where they were from - I think something to break the ice is nice as most tours don't do any introductions. So I appreciate that.

The trip was not too far of a distance from Paris, yet enough to allow us to view and appreciate the natural beauty of this region of France. My anticipation of the history and epic occurrences of D-Day didn’t come close to the emotional feelings I experienced when I actually arrived. Lunch was excellent as well as the french farm and liquor tasting opportunity. The American Cemetery at Normandy was humbling, so peaceful and thought-inspiring……heaven-like. John, our guide, was incredible. A wonderful blend of intellect, knowledge and humor. His conversation was natural and spontaneous. He exuded a genuine interest in assuring that our day was entertaining, and one that would exceed our expectations. A very skilled and poised tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Paris, and to make a special request for John as the guide……Jeff Meehan from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
