      Displeasure with A TripAdvisor vendor
We have used TripAdvisor both for reviews and as a conduit to Viator. After this experience we are considering ending our relationship with TripAdvisor completely. We scheduled this tour several months ago and paid in advance to make sure we had a place. We also scheduled train tickets from Paris to coincide with the tour. When we landed in Paris we received a text telling us that the company could not honor the date two days away but would offer the tour a day later. We checked and there was no train availability the following day. The vendor did offer us a refund which came immediately. Fortunately we are experienced travelers and traveled to Reims on our own. Once we arrived we made bookings on our own for about 20% of the cost of the tour. We travel a lot and find an 80% markup to be outrageous! Further we did notify TripAdvisor of our concern over this cancellation 2 days ago when we requested a refund but got no response.

Trip to Epernay is well worth tasting
Epernay is in the north-eastern region of France, where champagne is made. The vineyards vary in size from small families to large and famous, such as Moet et Chandon. You can pick up some bargains from small vineyards, but tours of Epernay usually take in well-known champaign tastings. Champaign is a luxury; small group tours that take in food and wine are welcome. We took our trip to Epernay from Paris, the trip to taste champagne was well worth it.

Smaller tours more personal than larger champagne houses
We had a full day tour which included two smaller growers and Mumm tour on Saturday with Emilie. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained the process to us all. We were in a great group and our first stop was at champagne Didierlaurent, port a Hinson, with a fabulous lunch at Champagne Collard-Milesi. Emily was an excellent tour guide and gave us time to enjoy the tastings, lunch and look around the church at Hautevilliers also. I personally enjoyed Emilies explanations which were clearer than the tour guide in Mumm tour. Highly recommended day, thoroughly enjoyable, insightful and entertaining

Amazing champagnes and great lunch! So easy to be guided instead of going alone.
Perfect Day! We really enjoyed the small grower and our tour guide Chloe was very knowledgeable about the region, the champagne making process and made us laugh all day. Got to see more than we could have going alone. The lunch spot was a beautiful hidden gem!

      Magical champagne experience
Ann was a friendly and knowledgeable host always happy to comment on the history and culture of the region. The Veuve Clicquot visit was insightful and the tasting was delicious, performed with style. The family growers were friendly and the countryside was beautiful. I could not recommend more!

Great tour guide and a fantastic group!
We had the most amazing day and definitely worth the money! Zavier our tour guide was incredible, so much knowledge and personal connections with the smaller champagne houses. We really appreciated the smaller tour group size and thoroughly enjoyed the traditional french lunch and pace of the tour. It was great to experience the verve house first and then head to the smaller champagne houses after. The day definitely gave us a greater appreciation for champagne! Would highly recommend!

      Highlight of France
Hands down, the best experience we had in France! The views are breathtaking and no better way to experience that than through biking through the champagne vineyards! The lunch provided was delicious and staff were incredibly kind. Our tour guide was Martin, who was funny, kind, and so knowledgeable. Do miss this amazing experience, we recommend it to everyone!

Veuve and two smaller champagne houses plus lunch! Win-win-win! Do this tour!
The tour was fabulous. Started with Veuve Cliquot first which is stunning and then two smaller champagne houses in Épernay! A really great lunch at the first smaller champagne house. The tour guide was very informative-

Very well put together tour of two small champagne producers. The tour guide was amazing! Well coordinated. Be aware that train tickets from Paris will set you back an additional $100 €/person.

    Wonderful champagne tasting tour!

This seems to be popular, our tour session was full to the maximum of 8, including our group of 4. But the van was still comfortable.

Our guide was fluent in English and gave clear explanations on the champagne making process. It was a good learning session for noobs like myself. He also gave lots of info such as at Reims where we were picked up. Some historical background etc which was nice.

We stopped at the first champagne house and had 3 tastings there. Followed by a stop at the church which is the final resting place of Dom Pierre Perignon. Our guide was very knowledgeable as he mentioned he was local and born in Reims.

Following that we went to the next champagne house for another 3 tastings. And we were pleasantly surprised by a small treat of pastry to pair with the champagnes.

Lovely 5 hours at a reasonable price. We would recommend to anyone who is interested to do some champagne tasting and gain some knowledge in this area.

A few weeks ago my 21 year-old daughter and I did the small growers afternoon tour. Everything was organized and delightful. We learned a great deal about the champagne process but not too much if that makes sense. We had a tour and a tasting at the first stop followed by some sightseeing in the area and a final tasting. We felt like it was the perfect amount of info and any more info or champagne might have been too much. I would highly recommend this tour. It was a highlight of our trip for sure.

Enjoyed myself very much on the afternoon tour with Martin! In 4.5 hours, we were able to visit 2 family-owned small champagne producers, do a series of tastings, and walked around Hautvillers. From the start till the end, Martin constantly engaged in conversation throughout the ride and made attempts to connect with everyone on the trip. His english was really good and he gave clear, informative explanations on the champagne production process. The van that he picked us up in was also very comfortable.

I was hugely disappointed with this trip. The van was small/ no microphone/ hard to see out of windows, the guide was only average (seemed tired and didn’t seem to care much). And the rest felt like one big sales pitch. Ie taken to buy champagne from the small producers. It was uncomfortable. It was not actually tastings even though the proprietors were really nice men.

I have visited champagne sellers and cellars but this was my first tour- and can definitely say individual visits are far better value. I wish I had done another one of those instead. For the price this was really disappointing. The region is touristy but I’d have expected more.

The tour was amazing and very informative. Our guide Tomas was very knowledgeable and articulate about the Champagne region and the processes involved. He answered every question with thoughtful, informed answers. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the small family run operations and learning the processes used and the history and reasoning behind them. We will have a much greater appreciation for Champagne and it’s subtleties going forward.

This was an excellent tour and one which exceeded our expectations. It was recommended by the Office de Tourism in Reims and I’m often hesitant booking these as sometimes these recommended tours are too big and just focus on the well known chateaux. So it was a lovely surprise that there were just 8 people on our tour and that the aim was to visit family owned champagne houses, rather than the big names, therefore really getting a feel for how champagne is made by small producers. Batiste was an engaging, knowledgeable and relaxed host who really explained everything clearly. He encouraged us to ask lots of questions and took us around the second champagne house himself. The way the tour was set out was great, we didn’t expect to see the village that Dom Perignon came from, or see such wonderful views of the surrounding countryside so these were delightful bonuses. My husband doesn’t drink but really found the tour of each of the champagne houses and the cellars fascinating and he also appreciated the cup of coffee at the final tasting. If we came again, we would definitely book a different tour with La francaise! Champagne. Huge thanks to Batiste, you made the tour a fantastic experience for us.

I really enjoyed this tour. When staying in Reims, we did the polished tours of some big Champagne houses which was great. However this tour gave a really good perspective on how the smaller wineries work. Additionally, it was a chance to get out into the countryside and see some of the Champagne region while also tasting wine. Something that couldn't be done with a car.

Additionally, there was a small hiccough with our booking (Not the fault of A la Francaise). They managed to resolve this at the last minute at considerable inconvenience to themselves.

I'd definitely recommend this tour. It's extremely good value compared to many others and the company go out of their way to ensure their customers have an enjoyable time.

Short on time, we wanted a tour that would give us a taste of local champagne produces in the Reims region. Our guide Emily was extremely knowledgeable and took us to 2 small producers which was a wonderful contrast to the big champagne houses and gave us something different to taste and experience. We also visited Haute Villiers and the grave if Dom Perignon, credited with creating champagne.
Being in a small group of six gave us a more personal tour, which we appreciated. Highly recommend!
