You learn all about Bordeaux wine- and much more
Tour guide, Rene, was incredibly well informed, pleasant and thoughtful. Knew the history of Bordeaux as well as the science of wine making. The four hours rushed by, I could have listened to him for hours. Mercedes vehicle very comfortable, visit to a winery and tasting with Vincent also informative. Both young men were charming, knew their subject and enthusiastic. A pleasure to meet such fine French men and learn so much about this beautiful region.

      Wine tasting Bordeaux Style
Our wine tasting event was hosted by Ava. She was very friendly and knowledgable. The session was fun too. The wines we tasted were very good and complimented the food that was provided. All of our questions were answered and the overall session. Was very satisfactory. I would recommend a visit. Thank you!

      Engaging and tantalising
Ava was our sommelier and was very friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and delivered this particular session in English. The wines were lovely and matched the cheeses and charcuterie really well. My friend and I really enjoyed the overall experience, activities, and learnt some interesting wine trivia throughout.

Excellent full day trip to Saint-Emilion and Pomerol
This was our first time in Bourdeaux and we decided to take this whole day tour to Saint-Emilion on the right bank of Gironde (Dordogne to be precise) on December 3 after our tour to Margaux on the left bank the day before. The tour was organized by Olala and our guide was Valentin. The departure point was a wine bar on Rue Mably, which is conveniently located and provides water replenishment service and a restroom. Everything in our case moved like clockwork. We left on time in a group of eight and rode for about an hour to Saint-Emilion where it was possible to take photos as we wandered through its cobblestone streets while Valentin provided lots of information regarding Bourdeaux, wine, and the town. We also stopped by a pastry shop and tasted the Macarons particular to St-Emilion. Then we headed to Chateau Taillefer for our first tasting. After a tour of the winery where we got briefed about the history of the estate, the terroir, and their process of winemaking, we tasted three wines, all red. In between the tastings we were offered small pieces of cheese. This was also the place where we all had our French picnic style lunch paired with a bottle of red. Then we headed to Chateau Cadet Bon for the second tasting where we were again given information on the same subject and moved to the tasting of four wines, all red and the fourth being extra. Then we were all pleasantly surprised by our visit to the cave in St-Emilion where older vintages are stored underground. This was followed by our visit to Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle, where we tasted three reds. On the way back, Valentin gave tips on favorable places to visit in and around Bourdeaux. These were all to the point since he is from around the area. His driving was very smooth and he was quite knowledgeable on the subject of wine. All in all, this was an excellent tour on a crisp yet beautiful sunny day with nice people to the heart of wine country.

      Excellent afternoon tour to Margaux
This was our first time in Bourdeaux and we decided to take this tour to Margaux on the left bank of Gironde in the afternoon of December 2. The tour was organized by Olala and our guide was Valentin. The departure point was a wine bar on Rue Mably, which is conveniently located and provides water replenishment service and a restroom. Everything in our case moved like clockwork. We left on time in a group of six and rode for about an hour while Valentin provided lots of information regarding Bourdeaux and wine along the way to Chateau Margaux where it was possible to take photos. Then we headed to Chateau Paveil de Luze for the first tasting. After a tour of the winery where we got briefed about the history of the estate and their process of winemaking, we tasted three wines, the first being a white and then two reds. In between the tastings we were offered chocolate sticks with different flavors. Then we headed to Chateau Dauzac for the second tasting where we were again given information on the same subject and then moved to the tasting of three wines, all red this time. On the way back, Valentin gave tips on favorable places to visit in and around Bourdeaux. These were all to the point since he is from around the area. His driving was very smooth and he was quite knowledgeable on the subject of wine. All in all, this was an excellent tour on a cool yet beautiful sunny day with nice people to the heart of wine country.

      Outstanding tour guide & company!
My wife only drinks whites, so we booked a custom tour of Pessac-Leognan/Graves through Olala. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, and we visited 3 excellent wineries and had a magnificent lunch at Chateau Smith Haut-Lafitte. Highly recommended

This was an absolutely delightful trip, and I am so glad that we booked it as part of our stay in Bordeaux! We started the morning in the charming medieval village of St Emilion, and I really enjoyed all the history there. Our tour guide Pierre was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, charming and engaging throughout the entire trip. He explained all the intricacies of appellations and quality grading -- which are a bit idiosyncratic in Bordeaux, to say the least! All of the guides at the chateaux were lovely, too, and they gave really wonderful insights into the history of wine in Bordeaux, the winemaking process, and how each chateaux does it a little differently and has its own style.

Of course, the wines were phenomenal. I enjoyed all of them, and several were runaway hits. The journey paces itelf well throughout the day. Do follow their advice to bring water, though! Hydration is important on a wine-filled day!

My only somewhat negative comments are that the vans are a little cramped, (especially if you're a human who is any wider than a French model! 😅 ). A company upgrade to larger coaches would make for more comfortable travel. Also, St Emilion itself is definitely not the most accessible place in the world to anyone with even minor mobility issues, thanks to the steep and uneven streets and walkways. It's a medieval village! So that's not unexpected, but it is something to be aware of if that's a concern for anyone in your travel party. (I definitely wouldn't skip the trip because of it, but maybe hang out at the cafe at the top of the hill instead of following the guide through that part!) All of the chateaux were easily walkable, though you do have to be able to do a few stairs.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The trip was relaxing, informative, and a perfect indulgence for wine-lovers.

We took a train from Bordeaux to Saint Emilion , the journey took an hour and 30 minutes by trian from city centre with 10 minutes walking to the main village. It is definitely worth visiting if your in Bordeaux it cost us under €20 pp for the transport. Very pretty place with some nice restaurants and bars for lunch or dinner

The trip was excellent and thorough. We did get off to a slow start in St, Emilio’s (no actual wine tasting) then it really accelerated as we went to Pomar and then to Margaux. In fact the afternoon was jam packed, and the wine specialist at Pomar gave us an outstanding tour of the winery. Our driver was courteous and informative, and as a wine lover, I learned a great deal about the different processes so well worth the trip for me. For my wife, she enjoyed the socialization with the other travelers with us. Overall an outstanding experience.

I am extremely disappointed with this company and I would NOT recommend booking with them. I booked this tour for my husband and myself along with my daughter, son-in-law and 5 month old granddaughter. We were notified that they did not allow infants on the tour. I take full responsibility for not knowing this prior to booking...that being said I am so disappointed that the company did not honor any refund. We lost $717.00 dollars with absolutely no refund at all. The company had full ability to refund us and they did not, stating 24 hour cancelation policy. Know that if you have any unusual circumstances they will not be sympathetic or personal in their business dealings. Please beware and do not book with this company. Very disappointed!!!

Dear Marilyn, We were very sorry to read your comment. As you mentioned it, it is clearly stated when you book on tripadvisor /Viator platform that we cannot accept babies or children, in a group tour. It could be not accepted by other travellers when there are long periods of driving. We have only 8 seats in the vans, and for obvious insurance reasons when the van is full, we cannot have people with babies on their lap. My colleague tried to find a solution for you ; but a private tour cannot be organised in a few minutes as we have to book some new Châteaux especially for you. We can accept refunds only until 24 hours before the departure, as it allows us to try and sell the seats ; but not the day of the activity.

Be sure to read all the many disclosures of this trip. We booked this tour with an infant and they cancelled us 18 hours before because they couldn’t accommodate a baby. Their first excuse was they didn’t have room in the van— so we offered to drive behind them in our rental car with the car seat. Then they said it was more complicated than that and we needed a private tour. So we tried to book a private tour and they said they needed time to set up a good tour for us so it would be impossible to do in a day. We assured them anything would be fine but they forced us to cancel anyway and did not give us any semblance of a refund. Our concierge at the hotel ended up scheduling us a full private day tour of St. Emilion wineries in less than an hour so I’m not sure why this group was being so inflexible but we will never book through them again after they refused to work with us on a solution for our group and refused to refund us even partially for what we paid and didn’t get to experience.

Was a fantastic tour, it was intimate with only 8 people on the tour and our guide who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and went the extra mile. We ended up getting back at 6.30pm because she wanted to show us an extra Chateaux. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Only recommendation is to bring your own water as there isn’t any during transport.

In November last year we took a full day tour of both the Medoc and St. Emilion regions in Bordeaux with O La La.

Overall, we were very happy indeed with the quality of the tour. The company was extremely helpful before our trip with planning what we wanted to do, and answering any questions that I had by email.

On the day of the trip, we met at the office of O La La in Rue Mably, a gorgeous little square in Bordeaux. We met the other people on our tour and our tour guide.

This was the only, albeit minor, disappointment of the day. We assumed that this was a full day tour, and we booked it specifically as my husband wished to visit St. Emilion in the morning and the Medoc in the afternoon, and this tour stated that this was what they offered. It turns out that it was actually two separate tours, as our small group changed between the two half days, but also the itinerary had been swapped so that we went to the Medoc first, then St. Emilion.

There was little that we could do about this though, so we just went with the flow.

Other than that, the tour was fantastic. Our guide was knowledgeable and good company. We started by touring the Haut Medoc and Margaux appellations on the left bank. We tasted five wines in total at two wineries and had a photo stop at the famous Chateaux Margaux. What a stunning place that is.

There were seven of us on this half of the tour. We then returned to the Bordeaux office of O La La and two people left and another young lady from the US joined in. We were then served a delicious light lunch of cheese and charcuterie, a lentil and duck salad that was very good, and a dessert in a jar of a crepe and caramel. Sounds odd, but it worked. The lentil salad was also in a jar, so perfect picnic food even though we ate inside at a table.

The afternoon was spent on the right bank, firstly touring the picture-perfect mediaeval village of St Emilion, then an old-world winery followed by a modern one. Four more tastings were done in St Emilion, so it was a big day.

The downside of touring St. Emilion in the afternoon became obvious when our guide attempted to find a parking spot so that he could take us on the included walking tour of the village. The place was absolutely packed and there were no parking spots to be found, even after two or three drives around. Eventually he had to drop us off and leave us to tour St. Emilion by ourselves. This was fine and we still enjoyed it, but it would have been much better to have visited in the quiet of the morning, with a guided walking tour, as we had actually booked.

For this reason I can only give this tour four stars rather than the five that it would have got if things had been what we expected.

We had a brilliant day exploring the Bordeaux region. Our guide Margot was brilliant and took care of us all.

The tour included three Chateaux visits and tastings with some exceptional wine. We had the opportunity to buy some of the wine we sampled which let us continue the experience for the rest of our visit to Bordeaux.

The trip was easy to book, with good communication in advance. The start/end spot is really central - with easy access to the city for after the tour.

We had a wonderful full-day tour with a small group (5 including my husband and me). Emmanuelle was a great guide, gave us a lot of information. We had a tour of the village of St. Emilion, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Beautiful place but a very steep climb. So thankful we didn’t have to walk back down!

We visited 3 châteaus (wineries) with a tour of two and tastings at all 3. We also had a very tasty picnic lunch at one of them. The tour was well worth the money to get out and see the French countryside and visit the winemakers.

We had an excellent experience. Estelle from Olalabordeaux did a great job in organising, and René, or driver and guide, was skillful, knowledgeable, experienced and made it a great day for us.

We would come back to this organiser anytime.
