Visit: Fort de Conde, 02280 Chivres-Val France
Located near the Chemin des Dames, the Condé fort is representative of the General Séré de Rivières defense system dating back to the end of the 19th century.
After suffering destruction during the First World War, it has been restored with passion for thirty years. Jewel of Soissonnais heritage in the heart of nature, its architecture immediately surprises the history lover, the walker in search of a haven of peace. Open since July 1, 2003, the fort is today a dynamic pole that contributes to the effort of memory, safeguard and enhancement of our heritage.
Indeed it is a place favorable to the interest of a large public: as much for the passionate ones of history and architecture as for the young public eager for discoveries and escapades.
Ideal for family outings with its various treasure hunts, the fort is ideally placed in the immediate vicinity of its hiking trails, its playground and picnic, arboretum. It also hosts exhibitions, shows and other events that delight young and old.
