Genuinely Killarney. A great way to feel the local life!
Charming, knowledgeable, kind and genuine. Richard grew up in the National park and it shows. He knows the trails to all the secret places and beautiful vistas. He was easygoing, friendly, speaking Irish with all his neighbors. Set a welcoming walking pace and was an engaging conversationalist. Of note: He will sing if encouraged!!! We suggest you encourage him. Can’t wait to walk with you again Richard! Sybil & Frank

It was lovely to meet you both, and for me it was very educational, i learned a lot in the two hour walk. I just wish school was like that in my day, and of course the bit of singing made it very relaxing. A great party song is Seven Drunken Nights which was recorded by The Dubliners many years ago. They used to perform in Killarney, and Bing Crosby toured the lakes here, and played on the local golf course. Looking forward to your return visit. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

A lovely morning walk
Richard was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide with a gift for languages and sharp sense of humour. My kids loves him as he took the p… out of me (a Wicklow native that has spent more time away than at home) right from the start.
We had a great walk, met some nice acquaintances of Richard and had a very relaxed and personal tour. Some very interesting history delivered along the way.
Highly recommended.

It was lovely to meet the four of you, and walk in the beautiful October sunshine around the shores of Loch Léin to get a view of the monastic island of Inis Faithleann. I enjoyed the mix of languages, your children are very gifted, and certainly have the gift of the gab as we say. Hopefully you will all get a chance to retun here some day, and thanks for walking with me. Slán go fóill, bis bald, agus hasta luego.

Hiking through untouched nature
Sep. 2021
It was my first time at Killarney National Park - I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape. Here nature is left on its own and allowed to flourish without the intervention of mankind. I have never seen before so much moss and so many ferns in one place and trees of all shapes and sizes twisted and bent by the wind. And all along the way, I heard the rush of small and hidden streams. It was almost like walking through a fairyland. I want to give my thanks to Killarney Guided Walks for this rewarding experience!

I think you make a very valid point when you say nature is left on its own. As so many beautiful places around the world are been destroyed unspoiled wilderness areas become more precious, and valuable. I call this area my back garden as i was born, and reared just across the road from Killarney National Park, and my dearest wish is that it remains unspoiled. I am very happy you enjoyed the walk so much, and thanks for the great review. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Best decision!
Had an absolutely wonderful time! We would definitely recommend this for anyone looking at a guided tour through the Killarney National Park. James was our guide and gave us much more than we expected! We even got to see some deer! Thank you!

Glad you got to see some of our native red deer, and we have a lot of the introduced deer Sika of Japanese origin which are in Killarney since 1865. There is no fixed route for this guided walk as we have loads of different walking trails so maybe you will return sometime. Thanks for the lovely review. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Really fantastic walking tour, high recommended
Fantastic guided walk with Richard in the Killarney National Park today. The pace was perfect and we very much enjoyed the stunning viewpoints that he showed us, the beautiful red deer and getting off the beaten path right down to the edge of the lake. We saw bits of the park that we would never have found by ourselves. It was about 2.5 hours in total. Richard was very friendly and informative. We would highly recommend this tour and would happily do it again. Lovely lunch in the tearoom in the park afterwards too as recommended by Richard.

It was lovely to walk with you on a nice pleasant day in my beloved Killarney National Park especially after the recent world wide health crisis. We are so lucky to have such wilderness areas close to our town, and the 15th century Ross Castle on the lakeshore. Thanks for the great review, and i hope you return to discover more of our great outdoors. Slán go fóill (bye a while).

Excellent Guided Walk
Sep. 2020
Our walking group took a guided walk in Kilarney National Park as part of our weekend break. The walk was excellent, and the walking guide Richard Clancy made our day. We took in a circular loop over six hours which begun at Muckross House and circled Muckross lake and Torc. We had a lovely stop at Dinis cottage before working our way back bt Torc Waterfall.
Richard was an excellent guide who gave us such a mix of history and local knowledge that we would never have enjoyed wothout him.
Fantastic Trip....

The beautiful weather made my job very easy ,as the scenery did the talking. As well as that the good humour of your group made it a very memorable day for me, a day I will never forget. I needed a long walk after I sampled the lovely pastries from the top class baker in the group, followed by some more refreshments at the far side of Loch Mhucrois in Dinis Cottage. This cottage is over two hundred years old, its always a great place to stop for a cupán tae, and view the Old Wier Bridge plus the Meeting of the Waters, Thanks for walking with me, and giving me such a lovely day out. Slán go fóill (bye a while).
