Great tour
Took the bus tour around the sites of Dublin on a very quiet day , easy to follow map of the route to pick out the highlights of the city , 24 or 48 hour tickets with a free walking tour included, with all the fears of the conovirus there was only 2 of us on the bus ! As soon as we started the tour audio description failed 😟 Jim our driver took up the challenge and provided us with his own brilliant commentary with added bonuses all the way round, he’s only a part time driver but what a star , made our day, thanks Jim 👍

Disappointing
Jun. 2019 • Friends
Be aware that the title "Dublin shore excursion" is misleading. This tour does NOT pick cruise passengers up at the port - you must find your own way into the city (It says so in the "fine print" but not prominently). Once in the city, it was difficult to find the bus location. Ended up taking a different tour.

Pick the Green one
Apr. 2019 • Family
I was in Dublin for a few days in April and bought 6 premium tickets that, subsequently, gave us access to the big bus service for three days. They were supposed to serve us from the 19-04 to 21-04. Unfortunately they had disturbances in the service between 19-04 and on 21-04. In 21-04 the company decided to suspend the service on the blue line all together, and did not even bother to warn the customers as they should have done, if only trough their app. Afterwards we discovered that they have also decided to finish the lines earlier, once again with no warning. I highly recommend all to pick the green bus line instead.

Hi Maria, I am sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your experience with us. Unfortunately, due to Garda road closures and factors out of our control, the Blue route was not able to be operated on Easter Sunday. We did however cover most of the blue route on the red route to ensure our passengers continue to get access to as many stops as possible. The only stops which could not be serviced were stop #33 – stop #37 as these were rendered inaccessible due to the direction of our route. Hence the service was running for the three days which your ticket was valid. We put up a message on the service updates page before the weekend warning that closures and disturbances were to be expected. Unfortunately it was too late to inform customers once we were made aware of exactly what these closures would be. We understand your frustration and your feedback has been passed along and will be acted on internally in future. Thank you very much for taking the time to reach out and share your feedback. All the best, Big Bus Dublin Team

Malahide Castle and Gardens and Howth tour
Feb. 2019 • Couples
We bought a 3 day bus pass for €37 and did the bus tours all around Dublin to get our bearings. On our last day we took a tour to Malahide Castle and Howth.
Our driver was called Eoin and he was brilliant. He talked non stop with a mixture of facts and humour and general observations. He made us feel very welcome and he has a brilliant sense of humour. He even played his tin whistle for a couple of songs to fill some space. Brilliant day with a very knowledgable driver. If you can do this tour try and feet into Eoins bus.

Don't trust the times published
Jan. 2019 • Family
The tour itself is not too bad, I would advise getting a live tour rather than the automated commentary for a much better experience of the city. My rating is more for the customer service aspect when something went wrong. The published timings (on both the internet and the brochures) handed out are not correct. I was left stranded with my young family including an infant on the other side of Dublin waiting in the dark and left to walk back home because the last bus timings are incorrect. When I questioned the City Sightseeing company shop the next day I was told "we just sell the tickets you'll have to take it up with someone else". City sightseeing did call the company after I said I'm not too happy with that as a response but the manager of 'Big Bus Company' had no interest in talking to me and told City Sightseeing to give me an email address - I'm still awaiting a reply.

Good introduction to Dublin
We recently visited Dublin while doing a British Isles cruise. With an overnight stop in Dublin we decided to do the hop on hop off tour the first day in Dublin. Part of the reason we chose this tour was that one of the stops on their 2 routes was at Kilmainham Gaol. We had “timed tickets “ for the jail museum and felt this tour would serve two purposes. Getting us to the jail for our tour as well as giving us a tour of Dublin’s highlights. The bus tour was good all by itself. We used both the red and blue route before and after the Kilmainham tour and the red route with live tour guide was our favourite. It was a great way to discover Dublin and it helped us plan other activities. Thumbs up!

Dublin with Declan
Not usually a fan of bus tours, but we wanted to maximize use of our Dublin pass so used our hop on/off ticket for a ride to Teelings. We lucked out and got Declan. He’s not only hilarious, but a surprisingly good singer. Not sure if all of his celebrity stories are true either, but they sure were entertaining as was his commentary on the Luas. If there’s a way to get on one of his tours, do it!

be jealous 😃
Be jealous 🙂, Declan, our tour guide was outstanding! He sang, played and provided such great info at both the main points of interest as well as the nitty, ditty on the less known spots :). This talented tour guide has a natural love of music, history and architecture —- such valuable qualities for a tour guide! What an asset! He was also so personable and so welcoming to visitor curiosity, i did not want to get off the bus and wanted more 😃. Thank you Declan

We did both sight tour and hop on/off red line. For ANYONE visiting Dublin for a first time, I highly recommend the bus! And suggest that be the very first stop on your visit. Sit through all the stops first, then maybe hop off for a guinness and plan your stops. There really is so much to see and suggest some relaxing in between :). SLAINTE 🇮🇪🙌🏻

Great Way to See Dublin
Jun. 2018 • Couples
As our hotel room wasn’t ready when we arrived, early in the morning, we stored our luggage and decided to ride the Hop On Hop Off bus which stoppped right beside our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we saw, the broad area covered and the amount of information about each area. Well worth the time and makes it easy to visit tourist attractions.
