About
Visit three castles and a well-preserved village on this adventure through the sights and stories of Outlander. There are moments that make your heart pound, scenes that leave you on the edge of your seat, and kisses that cause you to blush. But no matter how thrilling Outlander is, we think the real-life sites are even more emotive. This is because visiting the locations lets you step back in time and wander through unchanged, ancient villages. It gives you the chance to gaze up in awe at the mighty walls of a 600-year-old castle. And it allows you to venture through the real battlefields of the Jacobite uprising. On this tour, your guide takes you through a fantastic array of Outlander sights while telling you all about the history that inspired the famous show. So, take this time-travelling adventure and discover that the real locations and history are as exciting as the show itself.

So our trip was on a dreich day but it was nevertheless terrific.
With historic Scotland closing a couple of the attractions (Doune Castle and Linlithgow Palace) we still got to see them from a distance (or with Doune, the grounds). Falkland was ace, Bruce Fountain and ‘that’ window. Blackness castle was spectacular - the time there was a bit short but on the plus side, the ‘Scottish’ rain and low cloud made for some awesome photos. There was of course Lallybroch (Midhope) which is iconic and then finishing it off with the village of Culross. We got a couple of extras en route which again made this event extra special. Given I’d bought this tour as a Bday gift for my Outlander fan of a Wife, the brownie points were stacking up before we were even out if Glasgow. I’d make a ‘honeypot’ joke here but few will get it and if she sees it, she’ll kill me.
Without doubt though, what made this tour worth every penny and then some was our Guide - Alistair - the expertly well played balance between music, banter, history and Outlander linkage facts was simply brilliant. A very clever guy who is a natural story teller with the craic to turn nearly nine hours of ‘bus-stopping in the rain’ into a day we absolutely loved and will recommend again and again. Alistair, Team Rabbies - very well done folks. Thank you.

Was absolutely fantastic, even had a Dougal look alike for a tour guide. Sorry Graham. He was absolutely wonderful, played great music and was very knowledgeable on the show as well as the real history of the places. I asked a question about his family history which he started answering however i fell asleep as his voice was so soothing and the ride smooth it was like i was listening to a sleep story. I mean i fell asleep as a compliment i promise. The group was small but great, everyone was enthusiastic and excited. Would do it all over again.

Cameron did a superb job as tour leader. Insightful, funny and very well informed on Scottish culture and history. Covid -19 did not dampen the enthusiasm of an amazing story in Outlander. I really learned a lot of great anecdotes related to the miniseries.

Rabbles Outlander Day Tour was a perfect ending to my 12 day solo trip from Edinburgh to Inverness, then culminating in Glasgow.
The Rabbies office was centrally located, thus easy to fine. I was welcomed on the sidewalk by my driver/guide, Cameron.
The group of travelers was sleepy at first, but quickly warmed to the interesting and witty narration offered by our guide.
Our itenerary was carefully planned to offer just the right locations and right amount of time to experience both the history and recent, modern day, use of each location. Although I easily recognized the castle and town locations from the Outlander Series, or Monty Python, we were treated to the historical value of each stop, as we were given ample time to investigate on our own, or with a guide.
I was especially with the background knowledge, as well as the witty sense if humor of our guide, Cameron. His kindness and individual attention to all guests was much appreciated.
I later found out that Rabbies has a high expectation level for their guides, as I met other employed guides that have been turned down by Rabbie’s highly qualified expectations.
We had a wonderful experience!
