- Nikita C0 contributionsWee Davey the legendary story teller and history buff 💪The Timberbush tour with Wee Davey is not just an educational journey through Scotland’s history but also a fun and engaging experience thanks to his witty Scottish humor. He has a knack for making history lively, sharing facts about why the trees near distilleries turn black, and sprinkling his insights with humor, keeping everyone entertained. Whether he's discussing the gossip surrounding the Stone of Destiny or the infamous betrayal of the MacDonalds by the Campbells during the Glencoe Massacre, he adds a light-hearted, playful touch to even the darker moments of history. One of the highlights was spotting wildlife, including a baby vole (or shrew!) and the majestic Highland cows, all while listening to Wee Davey’s clever quips about life in the Highlands. His charm makes the tour unforgettable, blending Scotland’s rich history with a good dose of local banter. #ScottishHumor #WeeDavey #TimberbushTours #HighlandCows #OutlanderFacts #StoneOfDestiny #ClanRivalries #GlencoeMassacreWritten 2 October 2024

- mammamac130 contributionsLong dayAlthough I enjoyed the majority of time spent was driving. And they express themselves. I was most excited to see was Highland cows. Was dropped in a parking lot and had to walk across the highway to Attempt to see cows from very far away. Two of the stops in towns was disappointing as so many of the shops and restaurants were closed. 11 hour trip with over 9 hours spent drivingWritten 18 September 2024
- SoniyaC330 contributionsStunning day tour of the Highlands , Glencoe and Loch Ness!We ( me and my husband) took a day trip on 12 September 2024 which covered the Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and the Loch Ness. We got some amazing views of the picturesque Scottish Highlands. The landscapes are mesmerising throughout the journey. The Cruise of the mysterious waters of Loch Ness was a feast to our eyes. Our driver Jada was so GOOD. She was extremely efficient and so warm to interact with. Our tour guide Robert was great too! Throughout the journey he told us about the rich history of Scotland and was funny to the core!! Overall an amazing experience 👌👌Written 15 September 2024
- hawkmatthews0 contributionsGlencoe and Loch Ness tourWe booked this tour with Scottish tours, but you can also book direct with Timberrush, and our driver said it's probably cheaper as well. Our driver Steve b was very helpful and friendly with lots of good stories and information about the places we were visiting and the added bonus was the great weather we got on the tour which really added to the beautiful scenery around the Highlands. Our first stop was in a place called Luss that was on the edge of Loch Lomond, and we had about half an hour to get some photos of the area and some coffee for the drive. The next stop was just to get some photos of Rannoch Moor and Loch before our trip to Glencoe, where we stopped at the 3 sisters, the mountains around Glencoe, and the scenery was just breathtaking. The next stop on the road was Fort William, and from there, you could see Ben Nevis. After that, we headed to Spean Bridge, which was a small village that was used to train soldiers in the war, particularly Commandos and there's a Monument dedicated to the famous regiment. It's also a great place to view the Ben Nevis mountain ranges. The next stage of the tour takes us past the Caledonian canal systems that connected the lochs in the area and travels down to Fort Augustus, which is the start of Loch Ness. After a quick lunch we took the boat tour onto Loch Ness and we were treated to a very informative guide to the Loch and, of course the famous Nessie stories. The boat tour is just under an hour and then we headed back to our bus for the journey back to Glasgow. Not really much to see on the way back except for a quick pit stop in Bankfoot to see some Highland cows or coos in the local dialect. The scenery is amazing and we were lucky enough to have great weather all day with rainbows following our trip.Written 14 September 2024

- Comrade_Li0 contributionsDisappointing and Unorganized Tour ExperienceWe booked this tour with Viator during our cruise stop at Glasgow Port, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The highlights for me were supposed to be Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle, but our guide decided to skip Loch Lomond due to concerns about traffic on the way back. Instead, we spent an extended lunch break at Aberfoyle, which had very little to see or do. The guides were friendly, but the tour felt disorganized and poorly planned. If I had known in advance that we wouldn’t visit Loch Lomond, I would not have joined the tour. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I can’t recommend it.Written 13 September 2024

Booked in mid-February, this trip was an excellent way to see the Scottish Highlands and Oban and Glencoe! Our group was small - only 4 of us - but the driver/host was a wonder of knowledge and entertainment. He even stopped to let us take pictures of Highland Cows, which we really wanted to see (they are adorable). One of the castles was not open, due to flooding, but it really did not detract from the tour. We were still able to see the other castles, and the stops in Glencoe and then Oban (for lunch) were amazing. The breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands throughout the trip were unforgettable!

Have just spent the day with Andrew and had one of the best days ever. We were the only passengers, which made it extra special as we sat at the front, chatted the whole day and made the most of Andrews knowledge, enthusiasm and stories. He was engaging, witty and accommodating, certainly giving us a day to remember and stopping off at a few extra stops for us along the way at places we were interested in to take photos. Covered everything on the schedule, Luss, Inveraray Castle, Kilchurn Castle, Castle Stalker, Glencoe and Oban. We've taken some breathtaking photos, mostly in gorgeous sunshine, and made some unforgettable memories. Thank you so much. Absolutely recommend Timberbush and especially Andrew.x

Dec 2019
On December 16, 2019 I pursued another tour of the Scottish countryside. The previous tours began in Edinburgh which was my base. After leaving this city, I travelled to Glasgow in order to see more of the country.
The tour which I opted to go on was Oban, Glencoe and West Highland Castles. The day of this tour was rainy but it did not impact on my enjoyment of the scenic mountain views, historic castles and the pictureque fishing village.
On leaving Glasgow around 8:45 am the driver took us north-west through the highlands to Inveraray to see the Castle which, unfortunately was closed. After leaving Inveraray we proceeded further north into the highlands and passed the Kilchurn Castle which is nestled on the banks of Loch Awe.
Our next location was the picturesque harbour town of Oban where the driver dropped us off for lunch and free time to walk around the area. It was at this location on a rainy day that I got the first opportunity to see hail stones or small pieces of ice. This was an interesting experience.
On leaving Oban, we travelled to Glencoe, saw the mountain ranges by driving through the valley. The driver stopped on the roadway and allowed us to take pictures of the mountains and surrounding countryside. On leaving Glencoe, the driver took us to the conservation village of Luss on Loch Lomond.
After providing us with time to walk through Luss, we returned to Glasgow around 7:00pm.
This is a tour that I would recommend to anyone.

I am glad that you found the scenery as beautiful as we do and were able to see the stunning countryside of the West Highlands! Save yourself the trouble and book with Rabbies. If they’re booked then change your travel dates. Do not risk using this company, apparently there’s a reason they were available when Rabbies was fully booked. The bus broke down 45 mins into the tour and we waited 2 hours for a replacement bus to arrive and our first stop which should have been 30 minutes turned into a quick bathroom stop to make up for time. Shortly after leaving Glencoe, this (second) bus broke down in the middle of a busy road. Yes, that’s two buses broken down on the same tour, in the middle of nowhere. There were little children on board that two separate good samaritans stopped to help take back to Glasgow. We, the passengers, had to PUSH this Mercedes Sprinter uphill over 1000 feet, initially to try and get it going again then eventually to get it off the road and in a less perilous position. There was nothing to alert oncoming traffic (no cones, nothing!) other than the vehicle’s hazard lights which our bodies were obstructing as we pushed. Can you imagine if a distracted driver ran into us? The company’s solution was to call for another bus from Edinburg and have us on the side of the road for another 2 hours (counting from when bus broke down to estimated arrival of new bus) until WE found and booked taxis in Glencoe (about 7 miles away) and asked them to pay for it, which they did. Needless to say, we never got to Loch Lomond (last stop). After getting back to town almost 2hrs later than scheduled, missing 2 of our scheduled stops, providing manual labor at risk to ourselves with oncoming traffic from both directions, their idea of service recovery was a 25% refund which was not even offered outright but only after refund requests through our various booking companies. It is so statistically improbable to have two buses from one company randomly break down 7hrs apart that the likelier explanations are negligence or incompetence and neither of these is reassuring when you’ve spent your money on flight, hotel etc just for this experience and it goes so wrong, and you just get a 25% refund. Never again. It seems unlikely that you would have the same experience based on other reviews but just be forewarned that you’re rolling the dice.

Hi there, thanks for leaving your review.
As a business that deals with coaches, from time to time, they do break down. Unfortunately in this case, you were unlucky enough to experience a very rare occasion on which 2 broke down. Rest assured, this is not due to negligence as we have an on site garage and regularly check the vehicles to ensure they are as safe as possible - this was just an extremely rare and unfortunate instance. I also think there are a few falsehoods in your version of events as under no circumstances would we expect our passengers to push a vehicle over 1000 feet. As you've mentioned at the end, it is very unlikely that this situation would ever occur again and I apologise that it happened to you.
All the best,
David

We did this tour and even though it was a misty day it was amazing. The highlands and the villages are spectacular. Our guide (whose name I can’t recall now) was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. He interspersed stories and history with traditional music. He was the best guide we have had during two months of travelling. I highly recommend this tour.

My boyfriend and I went on a great 1-day tour with guide Simba during our weeklong stay in Scotland. We had based our trip around overnight stays in Edinburgh and Glasgow as homebases but we wanted to see outside the cities and their immediate areas, so this tour was an opportunity to see more of Scotland and some of its lochs and highlands. We encountered some road issues traveling to Oban so Simba had to adjust the itinerary and skip that part of the tour, but he was quick to make suggestions and take a poll of the group to adjust based on what we could do and wanted to do. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a visit outside of the cities into other areas of Scotland. We covered a lot of ground in the 10+ hours on the bus with the schedule adjustment and Simba played Scottish bands and related music along with providing interesting facts along the way. We had various appropriate stops for restroom breaks, photo opportunities, and other tourist needs. The bus was a little cramped and toasty, but all in all it was a memorable day and I am grateful to have seen so much more of Scotland and its beauty! I would definitely recommend Timberbush Tours to others interested in similar journeys.

The tour was just fabulous. Tom was fantastic and was a mine of knowledge, telling historical stories while keeping everyone wrapped up in the magic of the Highlands. The tour flowed easily, the views were amazing. I learned so much history in one day than I could have reading. I highly recommend and will be back for another adventure.

We left Glasgow around 8 and we’re back by 630. They give you time to take all the pictures but it’s a tight schedule so when they say 15 minutes be back at the bus by then. We missed a picture spot because some people on the tour were very late after coming back. You can get coffee and a snack at Loch Lomond and then you have two hours in Oban to explore and eat lunch.
