Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands Day Trip from Glasgow
USD 53.52
Overview
If you only have a short time in Scotland, make the most of it on this guided day trip from Glasgow to Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands. Visit the country's most famous and most beautiful attractions while being seamlessly transported in a comfortable bus. Also see Britain's highest mountain and visit the charming town of Pitlochry while your explains the complex backstories and culture of this dramatic (in both appearance and history) region.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and group at the designated early morning pickup time. Board your air-conditioned coach in the center of Glasgow and settle in for the journey north, first passing by Loch Lomond National Park and its famously "bonnie, bonnie banks."

Continue into the Highlands, traveling by the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount mountain range, toward Glencoe, a haunting site due to its history as location of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan, but also recognizable from the James Bond movie, Skyfall.

Continue past Loch Linnhe, one of Scotland's deepest lochs (lakes) and stop for lunch around Fort William (own expense). See Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis as you journey into the Great Glen. Travel through the charming village of Fort Augustus toward Loch Ness. Keep your eyes peeled for the famous monster and add on an optional boat cruise or Urquhart Castle tour (own expense).

Your tour continues north to Inverness, before heading back through Perthshire and the enchanting Forest of Atholl. Make a short break in the town of Pitlochry then conclude your tour back in central Glasgow.

This is a long day, twelve hours, but in a comfortable coach with an excellent guide it's well worth it. Glen Coe has to be seen - simply stunning. A lovely varied day, we'll paced and well planned. Very pleased I took this trip and...More

A challenging day

Bus was packed. People on tour kept coming back to bus late which meant that we got to Pitlochrey when everything was closed and the attendant at the public toilets even closed the toilets early so had to use the pub. It wasn't the tour...More

I suspect due to the length of the trip. It's a 12 hour day and the journey back is motorway, so although you see Stirling Castle as you get nearer to Glasgow, the main scenary is road and traffic. Very boring for little... More

I think they aim to get you back by 7:30pm, but it’s traffic-dependent once you near Glasgow. The first time I went I was back by 8, the second time was around 7:45. Hope that helps!
