About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- valentinasK2774GH0 contributionsRecommended! The tour was very well organised. It started with a stop at Loch Lomond, with the opportunity to either take a short cruise of the lake or visit the village of Bulloch. We then drove through the Trossachs National park, with its breathtaking landscapes, to stop in the lovely Callander, where we had an hour to enjoy luch in one of the local restaurants. The next stop was at Stirling Castle, where we stayed for two hours - time enough to explore every corner of the castle. We also find some little spare time for the Kelpies, originally not in program, before driving back to Glasgow. Our driver/guide, Marc B, was impeccable. As friendly as knowledgeable, he entertained us with gaelic tips and very intertersting stories and pieces of history about the places we were visiting throughout the day. Very nice and enjoyable also the playlist he selected for the trip. A five star experience!Written 2 February 2025
- Martina96920 contributionsVery well organised tripVery well organised trip. Driver Marc B was very friendly and welcoming. He entertained us during the trip with stories, little gems and curiosities about Scottish history. We stopped in a lovely town for lunch and visiting the Stirling Castle was the highlight of the trip for me!Written 2 February 2025

- Rea C0 contributionsWonderful tour of the areaLike any tour, it’s only as good as the guide and ours, Stuart, was fantastic. We had a small group of 12 on the tour in a van that fit 16, which really personalized the experience. I know they have bigger fleets so maybe call and ask the size of the bus before booking if this matters to you. We did the Loch Lomond/Stirling Castle tour and he gave relevant history about the area, fun facts and played some great Scottish songs between talking. It was raining torrentially and extremely windy and he maneuvered the small winding roads tremendously well. Nobody wanted to do the boat tour due to the weather so we stopped in Luss instead. This was my favorite part of the tour as we still got to see Loch Lomond but also walk a quaint little village which I throughly enjoyed. It is worth asking to include this stop on the tour vs the boat if everyone agrees. We had to skip Aberfoyle due to severe flooding up to our thighs but he let us take photos at a smaller spot little bit up the road which was great and the drive through the Trossachs is stunning and plenty of time at each stop. Stirling castle is an additional cost ~£16 per person, but I thought it worth it. A fantastic trip and great driver/guide!Written 31 December 2024

We were very interested in seeing several castles during our visit to Scotland, and this tour by Timberbush Tours took us by a few. Unfortunately Invereray Castle was closed the day we were there, but Marc made some extra stops as a bonus. This tour was one of the first day tours on our 2-week trip, and it got us off to a great start!Written 10 October 2024

July 2023 • Family
My wife and I had the privilege of embarking on the Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands Day Trip from Glasgow on July 30, 2023, and let me tell you, it was an adventure that exceeded all my expectations! Although the day began with rain clouds overhead, the magical charm of Scotland soon revealed itself when the sun emerged, illuminating the breathtaking landscapes before our eyes.
The views throughout the journey were nothing short of mesmerizing; it felt as if we were wandering through a fairytale, surrounded by lush greenery, majestic mountains, and serene lakes. Loch Ness, in all its mysterious beauty, captivated our imaginations and gave us a sense of awe that is truly indescribable. We were lucky enough to catch glimpses of the legendary creature, Nessie, which added a sense of excitement and wonder to the experience.
Our tour guide, Scott, was an absolute gem, making the entire trip even more enjoyable. His humor, extensive knowledge of the region's history, and engaging storytelling breathed life into every location we visited. He expertly provided fascinating anecdotes about the area, enriching our understanding of the local culture and traditions. It felt like we were journeying with a passionate friend rather than a traditional tour guide.
The only slight drawback was that Scott also acted as our bus driver. While he managed it professionally, I couldn't help but feel a tad uncertain about the arrangement for safety reasons. A dedicated bus driver would have put my mind at ease and allowed Scott to focus solely on enriching our experience. Nevertheless, it is a minor concern amid the sea of positivity that the trip offered.
From the moment we set foot on the bus until the time we returned to Glasgow, everything was exceptional. The tour was well-organized, and we had ample time to explore the different attractions without feeling rushed. Scott's "Scotland" hospitality and attentiveness throughout the journey made us feel welcomed and cared for.
The day ended with my heart full of gratitude and awe for the stunning beauty of Scotland's natural wonders and the warmth of its people. I can wholeheartedly recommend this day trip to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable adventure. Rain or shine, you are bound to experience a memorable journey through the picturesque landscapes of Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands, enriched by an outstanding tour guide named Scott, who will make you fall in love with Scotland all over again.

This was a really great, comprehensive trip! Simba, our tour guide, was awesome! He was really great at explaining the features and history at each of our stops! The tour was organized and Simba did his best to get us some extra stops despite some delays on board! I highly recommend this trip! I did a solo trip, but made some great friends on the bus!
Note that if you choose to do the Loch Ness boat tour that it was 20 GBP (cash only!). This will guarantee you a spot on the tour, but it is optional - I ended up doing the boat tour, and had a great time!
The highlands are GORGEOUS, and probably my favorite part of the tour! Note that is a long bus ride, but Simba made it easier with plenty of stops along the way!

The Timberbush tour with Wee Davey is not just an educational journey through Scotland’s history but also a fun and engaging experience thanks to his witty Scottish humor. He has a knack for making history lively, sharing facts about why the trees near distilleries turn black, and sprinkling his insights with humor, keeping everyone entertained. Whether he's discussing the gossip surrounding the Stone of Destiny or the infamous betrayal of the MacDonalds by the Campbells during the Glencoe Massacre, he adds a light-hearted, playful touch to even the darker moments of history.
One of the highlights was spotting wildlife, including a baby vole (or shrew!) and the majestic Highland cows, all while listening to Wee Davey’s clever quips about life in the Highlands. His charm makes the tour unforgettable, blending Scotland’s rich history with a good dose of local banter.

I spent the holidays in Glasgow and this was a perfect day excursion through the highlands, Loch Ness, Ben Nevis, Pitlochry and Loch Lomond. Mr Forrest, the tour guide and bus driver, was both very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. The photo provided was from an impromptu 5-10 minute stop by Loch Lochy with the low clouds. Mr. Forrest even provided a good single malt recommendation. If you have a free day, I highly recommend.

This was excellent. Our tour guide (Scott) really went above and beyond for us. He knew the area well, told objectively funny stories and really made the tour special for us all. The views are outstanding and it is a great day out. Just remember to bring some snacks as it is a long day.
When you get to Loch Ness you will have the opportunity to do a short cruise of the Loch for £19pp. In my view this really is not worth it and I would not do it again so bare that in mind. Very underwhelming.

This was our third time traveling with Discover Scotland Tours. It was a special day for us as it was my birthday and Scott made it memorable with his energy, humor, and enthusiasm. Each location we visited was scenic and we had enough time to explore the locations and take photos. Scott told us several interesting facts about the highlands and Scottish culture. We enjoyed the Scottish music throughout the trip. Especially the "I would walk 500 Miles" song, the whole bus was singing and enjoying the song. Loch Ness Ferry was a unique and scenic experience. I enjoyed the food at the restaurant that Scott recommended. Thanks a lot for an amazing experience and we look forward to booking our next trip soon.

Great experience to see the beautiful Highlands of Scotland. Stewart was very informative and friendly. I learned a lot about Scottish heritage, the geography, and environmental efforts.
Did not feel rushed at any of the stopping points.
Would recommend you brings some snacks. There are places in Fort Augustus as well as Pitlochry to get meals.
FYI. The Loc Ness boat tour now accepts credit card payments.

Hopefully we will see you again soon!

What a nice trip this day was, very beautiful views of the hills, beautiful cruise on the lake of Loch Ness can make, and good food and drink along the way. There was also the possibility to buy nice souvenirs.
During the bus ride, our driver told a lot of information about Scotland's history in his beautiful spoken accent.
In between stops Charlie, our amazing funny and professional driver, played beautiful Scottish music. Even when the bus failed for a moment, he managed to solve it within 10 minutes.
In short: it was a great ride, with mostly nice weather, only on the way back we got the traditional Scottish rain showers over us.
Charlie, thanks!

It was good apart from one stop off that we should spent lunch at but we let our driver know and he said he wouldnt return there. The beauty of Scotland is incredible and it was a smooth journey down with highland music. We recommend the boat trip an extra £19.50 but worth it sitting on the too deck sit on the right hand side going out for the best view.

We're thrilled that we were able to get you out to see Scotland's natural beauty, with some appropriate musical choices as well!
Unfortunately, while some stops may be perfect for lunch, to ensure we're able to make the cruise, we do have to ensure we keep good time and make it to Fort Augustus for the departure.

One of the best scenarios that I have seen in my life, special appreciation to the guider Simba, he makes the tour interesting, telling stories of the places, naming all the mountains that we see, recommending places to eat and have a better experience, he was the best, dressed like the typical Scottish suit.
Apart from the magnificent guider, all the places that I visited were spectacular, the Loch Lomond, Glencoe Mountains, if you have luck you could see some deers near the trip, the crown jewel, the loch Ness and the place of Fort Augustus, if you can you could take the cruise in the loch and try to find the monster, plenty of gifts shops in the place, after that instead of coming from the same way, the guider take other route to see some village (beautiful) and other landscape to watch, also have the opportunity to see the typical highlands cows in one of the stops.
By the way, is a tour that I will never forget, thank you Simba, you were the best.

What are the measures/new rules for this trip considering all the social distancing and mask rules?
What are about toilets? Are they available on the bus or at each point we stop?
Many thanks!

Wet
All jokes aside, it is still enjoyable if you don't mind getting wet and a little muddy. I'd recommend taking a change of clothes, for the bus ride back.
