Glencoe, Ben Nevis and Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh

Overview

Infrequent buses make much of the Scottish Highlands almost impossible to explore by public transport. Save on the expense of hiring a car and capture some of the Highlands’ most stunning views—and maybe even the mysterious Loch Ness Monster!—on this full-day guided tour that’s perfect for nature lovers. It includes a simple Scottish picnic lunch.

What to Expect

Board your coach in central Edinburgh and pass historic Stirling Castle, The Trossachs, and Rannoch Moor to Glen Coe, where your guide will explain the savage tale of the MacDonald clan, slaughtered here by British soldiers in 1692.

Continue through Fort William, photograph Britain’s highest mountain, 4,413-foot (1345-meter) Ben Nevis, and follow the Great Glen to the village of Fort Augustus on the shores of the famous Loch Ness. Here, you’re free to explore the waterfront, look for the monster that some believe resides in these dark waters, or relax with your simple picnic lunch.

As you return to central Edinburgh, savor views of Loch Laggan, explore a picturesque Highland village, and glimpse the spectacular Forth Bridges.

Great day out!

Such a beautiful trip! A lot of bus time, but Fiona, our guide, was incredible and made it constantly entertaining with her stories and music. She knew a ton about the area and had a playlist of Scottish songs for us!

Awesome tour

Great experience with amazing scenery. Tour guide, Fiona, was very informative and very friendly. She kept us entertained, while not being too much on the very long bus ride. Trip was definitely worth the money and the time
