Whisky-Tasting Day Trip from Edinburgh
From USD 48.33
Overview
Scotland’s whisky distilleries are some of the best in the world, with a history dating back centuries. On this full-day tour, spin through the Scottish Lowlands by air-conditioned mini-coach with your guide, and sample Scotch whisky at the Glengoyne Distillery and Deanston Distillery. With round-trip travel from Edinburgh included, you have no worries about driving as you explore the shores of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park.
What to Expect
Meet your guide and air-conditioned mini-coach in central Edinburgh. Then, depart for your full-day tour of the Scottish Lowlands. Along the way, soak up sweeping views over the Scottish countryside and learn its whisky-making history from your guide.

First, stop at the Glengoyne Distillery in Dumgoyne for a guided tour. Here, see how Scottish whisky is traditionally made, sample some whiskies, and learn more about the distillery.

Continue through the beautiful Trossachs National Park to Loch Lomond—one of the region’s top natural attractions. You have time here to admire the lake and mountain scenery, and stop for lunch (own expense).

Next, visit the Deanston Distillery—nestled on the banks of the Teith River and widely considered Scotland’s most environmentally friendly distillery. During your tour, see how whisky is made the Deanston way and taste two types of single-malt Scotch.

The tour ends with drop-off in central Edinburgh.

Very nice tour

We had Ian as our guide and he was very knowledgeable about both Scottish history and whiskey. He contributed to a good mood on the bus. I really recommend this trip.

during our company Weekend Trip

we used this excursion during our company weekend in edinburgh. Stevie the driver was very entertaining, the two distilleries were very exciting and the whiskey good. Lochlomond is a very nice area, the detour was worth it.

Our tour guide was superb. He gave us the history of the area, told us Scottish tales and played Scottish songs after telling us about the background of each. The tours at both distilleries were informative and fun. We recommend paying for the extra whiskey...More

The one we joined was not private. It was, however, with 8 other people so felt like a ‘private’ one. If you visit the tour operator’s website there is a section about private tours. Best to get in touch with them as they... More
