3 day Kakadu 4WD Camping Safari from Darwin
We had 3 days and Darren covered a lot of distance, managing to include most of the highlights of this large area. He is very knowledgable and gave us an unforgettable trip with some interesting experiences.

          Expectations exceeded!
Our 6-day Top End Expedition with Kakadu 4WD Safaris was a real highlight for us. The trip was well organised and relaxed at the same time. We covered a wide range of sights and activities, all complimented with great camp cooking and bonhomie. The indigenous knowledge of our tour guide, Darren, was a particular highlight. It gave us additional insight and appreciation of the local environment and culture. Our expectations were definitely exceeded. New friends were made. Highly recommended!

          Wonderful
I had booked a trip for my boss to attend which was then cancelled due to Covid. Due to the high number of cancellations, Paul needed extra time to fulfil the refunds owed. He kept me informed throughout the process, arranging for extra work to honour the refunds he had promised and ultimately paid the refund earlier than anticipated. While there are many great reviews about Kakadu 4WD's actual safaris, I would book again with Paul, simply because he is a genuine business owner who does as he says! I wish him all the very best, Leigh.

Kakadu and Katherine 3 Day Tour
Thank you for a great 3 day tour of Kakadu and Katherine! We had a packed itinerary. Highlights included watching sunset at Ubirr, swimming in the plunge pool at Jim Jim Falls and discovering the serene upper pool at Edith Falls. Paul, the tour guide and company owner, was incredibly knowledgable of the area and provided wonderful commentary throughout. We had a delicious freshly prepared lunch each day which included fresh bread, salads, cheese and meats. The whole trip was very well organised and I slept well both nights in the accommodation provided. I would highly recommend the trip. Please support Paul and his great company after a very challenging year! Thanks again Paul!!

          Great Kakadu Experience
I travelled with my family on a 5 day camping tour with Paul and we had a fantastic time. Paul has incredible knowledge of the region, and took us to some fantastic sites across all 3 national parks (Kakadu, Litchfield & Nitmiluk). The waterfalls we visited were incredible, and the yellow rivers cruise was fantastic. It definitely was great to have a 4wd tour as it did allow us to get to other sites that otherwise weren’t accessible. The camping grounds we stayed in all had nice, clean facilities and a good set-up. It was a really easy camping experience and everything we needed was provided too (foldable beds and sleeping mats). The food Paul cooked was really nice, and he was able to perfectly accommodate my low fodmap diet, and other members of the group’s dietary requirements too. I would recommend a tour with Kakadu 4WD Safari’s.

          Unforgettable
Highly recommended!! What makes this small group tour unique and unforgettable is Darren the indigenous guide, who brings a wealth of lived knowledge about local culture, history, plants and animals, and a wicked sense of humour. He also cooks up a storm every night… a standout was the Creamy Mushroom Kangaroo Fettucine with an added smokiness from the fire. Traveling by air-conditioned FWD truck allows you to stay cool while getting you to the more remote sites in Kakadu National Park. The days are packed with many stops at beautiful waterholes and waterfalls, cultural experiences, guided walks of rock art and other sites, a crocodile boat cruise, many beautiful lookouts and views, an encounter with Arnhemland, a boat ride up magical Katherine Gorge, and you also meet some other wise and colourful local personalities who are proud to share their heritage and knowledge. Every night another glorious sunset in a different location. And when you least expect it, a platter of fruit and snacks magically appears. Camping under the stars is the best way to see this area, and though facilities are rustic, this is reflected in the reasonable price and you'll sleep comfortably every night. Unmissable experience overall.

A real education about the top end
We travelled with the AAT Kings 3 day tour to Kakadu and Arnhem Land explorer. It was well worth the occasional bumpy ride in the 4 Wheel drive in Arnhem Land. The guide, Nick, was a mountain of information. The small number of tourists on the trip made for a more interesting visit to this amazing place which took us to rock art paintings, local communities and wonderful landscapes. All expertly explained by our knowledgeable guide.

          Fantastic Family Trip
This was a wonderful way to see the top end. The insights and knowledge Darren & Paul provided really enhanced the experience, and their passion for the land shone through. The tents were spacious and so easy to put up and down (on the couple of occasions that we had to), and the food provided was always plentiful, healthy and delicious

          4 days in Kakadu
We have just had four fantastic days in Kakadu with Darren and Paul. We booked a small group tour for our family of 2 adults and 3 children. We were looked after from start to finish. The car was very comfortable. The camps are well set up and ready to go as you arrive so no wasting time putting up tents. The food was delicious, healthy and there was plenty of it. We saw some amazing places and the children all loved the different swimming spots for different reasons. Swimming at Koolpin gorge was truly spectacular. We enjoyed both Darren and Paul's company. They were good with the children, tolerating the questions and the occasional melt down. Their knowledge was impressive and we learnt a lot about a wide variety of things from insects to aboriginal culture.

3 day Kakadu , Lichtfield Park from Darwin (Wayoutback through Lost in Australia)
It was a 3 day trip from Darwin and It was great from the very beginning. Steve-o was the best guide we could have. He was very organised and super friendly. The views are fantastic and the camping was great especially (Mount Bundy Station). I highly suggest recommend this trip to everyone.

          2 day Kakadu Accomodated tour
It was nice to have the option to do a 2 day tour as there are not many options available out there if you have less time. Although there was a lot of driving, we managed to pack a decent amount in ( Adelaide river jumping croc cruise, Nourlangie rock art, Warradjan cultural centre, Gunlom falls, Moulin falls). Food, transport and accommodation were good. I personally would have preferred not to do the croc cruise and maybe done another trail at Kakadu and spent a bit longer at the cultural centre but can understand that others might appreciate this being part of the package. Otherwise, an enjoyable experience and decent value for money.

A wonderful taste of Kakadu in the wet season
Our group of four adults and two children were booked on a two day small group tour of Kakadu in the wet season. We were lucky to be the only guests on the tour, and in addition had the pleasure of travelling with Paul and Joey - a great team! On the first day we drove south and east from Darwin to the Mary River region where we did the Boulder Creek walk before lunch and Motor Car Falls after lunch. The day was very hot and both places provides refreshing swims. Afterwards we made our way to the Mary River Roadhouse where Paul treated us to a delicious barbecue before we went to bed. The next morning we headed northeast on the Kakadu Highway where our first stop was for the Nourlangie Rock Art Walk. We continued on to Jabiru for a picknic lunch by the lake. After lunch we drove west on the Arnhem Higway to join a crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River before returning to Darwin. Joey's great knowledge of the region (history, landscape, animals and plants), combinded with Paul's sturdy driving and great cooking, made this a very interesting and enjoyable tour. Highly recommended!

Excellent Tour with Darren - 6 Day Family Top End
Food plentiful and so fresh too - Darren is a great cook! Great guide with amazing knowledge of flora, fauna and local customs. He was also great with kids. Comfortable vehicle (we didnt have the troopy which was a bonus). Only criticism was that for a family with kids it probably would have been better to make this a 5 day trip and miss out on Litchfield (which is the least spectacular of all the places we visited) - that way the kids would have fared better.

Great guided tour for a family
We went on a 6 day guided tour to Kakadu, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield. Darren did an amazing job of cooking and entertaining 2 family groups for 6 action packed days. Excellent food, excellent knowledge of the places we visited. Patient with the kids and the adults when required. An excellent choice for a family looking for a guided holiday with lots of action, swimming spots (Darren knew the best and quietest ones) great tucker and local knowledge. Thanks for some great memories of the NT.

Super 3 days in KAKADU with DARREN
3 fantastic days in a tent camp with Darren as our guide. Darren is fantastic in explaining a lot of things you never read in the tourist guides, everything from the story of Aborigine people, the info about the trees and plant and it can be used. Darren is also a great cook over fire in the camp, so now coming back we sometimes makes "Darren gourmet" food. The trip included Ubirr rock, trip on East Alligator river and Arnhem land, Jim Jim Falls and Maguk and many more experiences We should have also have visited Twinfalls but it was closed. It was an experience for life without internet to enjoy Kakadu and fall a sleep into the brightest night with a million stars
