What to expect
  • The plan will be to gather at the boat, to shake off the grime and pace of the city, meet Claire and the other participants on the course. We will spend the first quarter of the session taking a tour of a narrowboat, learn about the history of the canals, self sufficiency and experience the curious world I have created. Answering questions in a treasure hunt format. Prizes for the winners. Then I will conduct a drawing class encouraging everyone to draw inventions, nutty contraptions, combining art and science to create things that we didn't know to be possible. We will have a morning or afternoon tea break with some homemade produce or goods from the nearby bakery boat depending on location. We will complete the time with a craft session, this will involve making a model which guests can take away. Subject of the model with be dependent upon what guests deem to be their skill level, age or preference. This is a unique activity to experience a narrowboat if you have or haven't been on one before, have fun learning and drawing and have something to take home as a souvenir of your trip.

Great experience for kids
Aug. 2019 • Family
We took a small group of children who were on holiday in the UK from Taiwan. They absolutely loved the experience. There was so much for them to do, not just the crafts, but also the afternoon tea. Claire was a great host, and the children loved being on the boat as well, which was something they had never had the chance to experience. Thoroughly recommended for all children, and especially Asian kids to do something so different.
