    Tragic, dark and beautiful
Tragic, dark and beautiful, told through brilliant music. Great acting, singing and stagecraft. An even better script. Loved the choreography and performance of the fates.

    Absolutely fantastic performance!
We were visiting London for a few days and bought tickets for Moulin Rouge. This show is so entertaining and uplifting. Every single member of the cast was brilliant - the leads were particularly AMAZING. The whole production is so professional. We thoroughly enjoyed every second from beginning to end… absolutely super performance. Highly recommend this musical. Great entertainment value.

Does not translate to the stage
Awful- if you’re a fan then I can’t see how you would like this! It’s chaotic, long and boring. Thankfully we got cheap tickets, would be gutted if we’d paid more. Have never left a show mid way through but I was definitely tempted. Only etiquette stopped us from leaving.

    Terrible
Big TT fan, but this show was simply terrible. The lead was brutal, her imposter accent was irking the whole night, she simply over acted and it came across extremely amateurish . It’s half wasn’t bad at all, young kids were great. The grandmother was terrific. “ Ike “ was terrific. But something happened in second half. Starting with “ Private Dancer.” Woah! Probably THE worst song sung I’ve ever experienced at a professional show on The West End or on Broadway. The actor playing the “ Australian,” cringing!!! Who picked these people?? It was just a mess. Don’t bother seeing this mess. Save your money and go elsewhere. It wasn’t “ Simply The best,” more like “ Simply The Worst!”

    A fantastic feel good show
I am still buzzing from seeing The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre last Friday night. I absolutely loved it. From the wonderful cast to the fabulous music and brilliant staging. It is definitely now on my list of favourites. All the performance were excellent with a particular shoutout to Vanessa Williams, Georgie Buckland, Amy Di Bartolomeo and Matt Henry. Thank you for making my birthday celebration so special.

    INCREDIBLE!
I saw this show twice and it was amazing as always. I loved the show and I saw the series on Netflix 11 times and I am just obsessed with the show. My favourite top 5 characters are Eddie, Dustin, Steve, Erica and Joyce. I also love Eleven as well.

    Really disappointing
I enjoyed the film The Devil Wears Prada so I was keen to see the musical and unfortunately this is the first show where I have walked out during the interval. The show had no depth at all and the characters felt bland and wooden, and some of them were just carbon copies of how the character's are in the film, so much so the voices sounded identical to the stars of the film. The cast and directors missed the opportunity to make the characters their own. Every two seconds they launched into song without any context and every time they did I found myself rolling my eyes. I normally love musicals but the songs in this so really got on my nerves. For people who haven't seen the film, I imagine they might find this show a bit disorientating. I didn't feel the songs had any beat at all and everything just felt flat. Sadly, this is a show I won't be recommending.

I would not have chosen this show myself and was surprised that I actually enjoyed it a lot. First of all I did love the music.)) It's a great start for a musical.) And I did find the alternative ending to Shakespearian tragedy to be quite therapeutical as it turned into comedy. There is no sharp or witty humour here but it is definitely an uplifting experience in my opinion. I do think that the show is for younger or middle age generations and I highly recommend it especially if you can find a ticket for a good price.

My partner and I recently attended an afternoon performance of & Juliet at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. The musical, which has an extremely weak, meandering, and confusing storyline, was nevertheless entertaining for a fan of pop music such as myself. The performances of the cast members are incredible across the board and worthy of high praise—evoking emotions otherwise unprompted by the script. Pro tip: try to secure rush tickets over TodayTix. Though limited to a maximum of 2 seats and usually sold out quickly, these are great seats that help the show feel more like a value for money.

We brought tickets last minute as a treat for our Daughter’s 20th birthday.
After reading reviews i wasn’t really sure what to expect and came with an open mind (and a husband who was adamant it wasn’t his kind of thing)
We LOVED IT ! The story line is very well thought out, the musical numbers are uplifting and fun and the actors were superb - especially Ivan De Freitas & Roshani Abbey who playing Shakespeare & Juliet.
100% would recommend buying tickets, you wont regret it.

Firstly, I cannot fathom why Oliver Tomsett, one of the best singers in the West End IMO, sings so little - it the main reason we went having seen him in Kinky Boots. Cassidy Jansen (Anne) and Tom Francis (Romeo) were excellent, and the only reason I didn't leave at the interval. The rest, oh dear..... lots of shouting, overacting, missed keys , shouting, loud music, shouting.....you get my drift. Oh and the wokeness.... this takes it, picks it up, and rams it down your throat, via an incredibly corny storyline. Juliette constantly looked like she was in pain, crouching uncontrollably , clenching her fists and as stiff as a board. Compare this to how Kinky Boots addressed it's subject, and it makes this look like a school production. This, along with Grease from a few years back, are easily the worst musicals we have seen.

Sadly this show was let down by the lead performer Miriam Teak-Lee her performance was out of key, out of sync with the band and her singing sounding as though she was gasping for air leaving me clueless with the words she was singing. It was a real shame due to the rest of the incredible cast and the technical elements of the show being so outstanding.

It seems that she is struggling with keeping up with everyone else in the cast and is using the technical elements of lighting, sound, automation, SFX to hide this.

Such a shame as I thought this show would be incredible and the original recording is insane but this did not live up to the expectations and I would recommend avoiding this piece.

First west end show I have ever hated in my life and I love theatre but this show does not compare to anything else on the west end due to the lead.

The story of Romeo and Juliet rewritten in a fresh modern way. All begins with a what if… and the story flows in an enjoyable way that you do not realise how time passes. It was during the performance that I understood how many hits Max Martin has written all this years as these hits are embedded in the script is a unique way. The cast acting and vocals were of a high standard. A performance I recommend for London’s visitors.

Now, I know that most only review when something was either really good, or really bad, but this review is not so much about the performance, more the staff at The Shaftesbury Theatre.
My sisters and I were excited to see this show and have a great family evening out. The show started and we were all very much enjoying the performance until we were told we weren’t allowed to sing?! Now, we’re all in our mid-thirties. All of the songs sung in the performance are songs of our ‘pop’ era and instinctively, one sings along….next thing you know, lights are shone in your face by the staff and you’re told ‘it’s not a singalong’. Then, you’re constantly watched by the staff in case you offend again. At the interval I went and asked what was wrong and to speak to a manager. Needless to say, we were that uncomfortable that we left, much to our disappointment as the show was actually decent. The staff were not equipped to offer any other explanation other than the ‘singalong’ comment.
No apology or refund offered by the theatre, nor any prior warning that singing wasn’t allowed. Who of a certain age doesn’t sing to the Backstreet Boys?
A real shame as what would’ve been a great evening out, turned in to a true disappointment.
Show 👍🏼. Overall experience at the theatre 👎🏼

We took our 7 & 12 year old to this show and they loved every minute of it.

The music tracks picked were almost made out of all the biggest hits of the last 15 to 20 years of pop music.

The actors were all superb vocally and can all act so well. The story line was great and the entire piece was very uplifting and throughly entertaining.

Awesome show and highly recommended.

It probably would have helped if I actually listened to pop music for the past twenty years because the thirty tunes in this show were millennial chart toppers penned by one man, Max Martin. The Swedish mega-producer has been responsible for more #1 pop hits than anyone else except Lennon and McCartney. Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and The Backstreet Boys owe him their careers among many others. This fanciful musical comedy repurposes those songs into a heavily reimagined version of "Romeo & Juliet".

The classic tragedy is being argued by the bickering Shakespeares, the Bard and his frustrated wife Anne Hathaway who doesn't understand why Juliet has to die at the end. In fact, Juliet quickly rebounds and journeys to Paris with her pals and finds love again with a prince struggling to find his own identity. Things get further complicated when Juliet's presumption of Romeo's fate turns out to be erroneous. Female empowerment and gender confusion inform the story but not more than familiar pop songs that sent the youthful audience into bubblegum delirium.

The book was written by David West Read, a veteran of “Schitt's Creek", and the show could've used some of that sitcom's dark edginess. The rambunctious cast was game with Cassidy Janson the standout as the beleaguered Anne. I have to say the cast's energy came across as a bit packaged with the choreography befitting music videos you'd see on Vimeo. The show is coming to Broadway in October where stateside audiences can relive the same pop songs they've been listening to on their own AirPods.

Was given the tickets as a gift for my mum and I as we love London theatre and enjoy the juke box musicals, however, this was loud, you couldn’t hear the words when songs were sung and it was all a bit forced. The idea of the script is good, but the inclusion of all the woke stuff makes it a bit tedious. For the first time ever we walked out at the interval. Really not worth the money. The theatre is beautiful but the show is disappointing.
