- B1357SNellap0 contributionsDon’t book - worst tour ever and waste of money!I would not recommend this tour if you are looking for a tour that tells you about the history of the city! All the tour guide did was talk to people on the bus.Written 29 November 2024

- phileZ1046GS0 contributionsExtremely Disappointedterrible experience, multiple (literal) last minute meet point changes. we were already on the tube with our destination set when the first change arrived, followed by more, eventually seeming to direct us to a BUS STOP! no maps reference, no help other than an email address that we still have had no reply from and a PREMIUM RATE phone number that was no help at all. we will NEVER use this company again and would advise anyone thinking of using them to exercise caution.Written 11 December 2023
- Tim T0 contributionsShortchanged and disappointedJust 1 “guide” but he was good with jokes and story telling. However, the tour lasted just 45 mins not the advertised 75 mins. No response to my complaint which I submitted the same evening having discussed it with our friends (there were 8 of us) and that really frustrates me. We felt shortchanged and disappointedWritten 30 November 2023

We toured on the day of the protests so where jammed in traffic but our conductor on the 9:00, 14th october was absolutely fantastic! Booking the tour, Jack couldn't be any more helpful and patient while dates, times and locations kept changing. Everyone had a lot of fun on the tour, but this was mainly down to Fred the conductor. No spoilers, but the 'incident' that happened on London Bridge will remain with us for a long time. I think the car next to us and people walking past also may be different for some time as well. Yes you see some of the big London sights, but that isn't the main focus of the tour. Turning up to a nice London Restaurant in a vintage black Routemaster is also pretty special.Written 7 December 2022

I went on the 6pm tour on the 29th of February. While the tour itself (sights etc.) weren't overwhelming, the experience onboard from the guide and the 'health and safety officer - Mr. Hinge' was brilliant. They are a credit to the tour, adding a comedic element and making the tour far more entertaining.
I would advise people do to this tour as part of a group, but advance warning on there was a smoke machine used, if you have trouble with those, sit towards the front of the bus.

Having taken friends on this tour many times in the past I was so disappointed with today’s tour. There have been changes in the past 2 years that have spoiled the fun. This was previously run as a mad drama on a moving bus tour. A second character (an inspector) used to board the bus mid way through the tour and demand that everyone got off as the bus was in danger. The bus would stop for a few minutes for a visit to CrossBones graveyard while the conductor got rid of the inspector only to have him re-join the tour a little later. Now it’s just one man telling tales of ghosts without all the added drama. Nowhere near the fun and imaginative theatre that it should be. The tour was also cut short of the 75 minutes advertised and ran for just 55 minutes. Same price though!
We were one of 3 groups on tonight’s tour who were returning customers who were left feeling cheated.
Cost cutting has ruined what was previously a great evening’s entertainment and I hope the management take heed of my comments and return to the old format.

A great way to see a bit of London, learn some interesting and macabre facts and laugh a lot!
We went as a small group of 2 families, including 3 teenagers, and had a great time. Charlie Ballentine was a great host, informative, hilarious and fabulously risqué! We all enjoyed it and felt it was good value for money, everyone learnt something which was fab considering we have all been there lots and some have lived/worked there.
We sat on the top of the bus and had seats facing each other (we felt these were the best seats in the bus) the bus itself is great, very atmospheric and we all agreed it felt Covid safe.
If you hate theatrics and silliness, this isn’t for you (any bad reviews seem to be from people who were never going to enjoy this sort of thing) but if you’re looking for something daft, different and dark, book it! You’ll love it!

I am sorry I have never felt as uncharitable as after this bus ride. It is not funny, it is not scary, and if you don't sit at the top, you don't see the sites. I have never seen the need to leave unfavourable reviews, but in this case I would like people to be aware that I do not have a clue who wrote the good, hilarious reviews. I feel completely ripped off. This was supposed to be a fun part of a hen weekend in London. As I organised, I feel I can't ask the other 7 girls to pay £25(total of £200).

Hi there,
Hope you are well.
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your recent experience with us. As advertised, The Ghost Bus Tours is a comedy-horror theatrical experience on wheels, and the majority of our customers have a great time on-board. However we understand that the tour isn’t necessarily for everyone. We really appreciate your feedback, and we would love to hear in more detail what you thought. If you could email us at feedback@theghostbustours.com, we would be happy to look into the issues you raise.
We have been running this tour almost every evening for over a decade, and the vast majority of our customers feel that the tour is more immersive and entertaining when the sun has set. And the majority of the landmarks on our tour are incredibly well lit at night, and are able to be seen from both the upper and lower decks.
Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss these issues further.
Many thanks and apologies again,
Best wishes,
Max

Was in London for a weekend for my wifes birthday, and as it was Halloween, and Ghost bus tour seemed a must do.
We booked ourselves on the 10:30 showing, and the bus sets off from a spot just a stones throw from Trafalgar Square.
The tour itself is rather enjoyable, but the bus itself is rather cramped, and a lot of the time its "blink and you miss it" for a lot of the stuff you are told about on the journey.... "if you turn your head to the right on the side street approaching us, if you look into the distance you will see........"
Guide was rather entertaining (very Rik Mayall reading "Grimm Tales" vibes) , though felt with it being Halloween more effort than normal would have been put in.
Took us to one or two interesting parts of London that would never have visited, and you do get a picturesque view down the Themes to Tower Bride and the Tower of London at one point, but there is really only two stops and you do not get off the bus.
All in all, ok experience, but a case of seen that and done it.

Standard - some fun moments but kinda expected more?
Enjoy the tour but at 1 hour for £25 per person, felt it was overpriced for what it was. A nice little drive around london stopping at one location and passing many others. The actor on the bus was good, but I expected to learn more rather than be told generic stories.
It’s was more London Dungeon than an actual Ghost tour. Also - did not see any ghosts!

£25 per person is a reasonable price, *if* you are given a good experience in return. London Ghost Bus Tours, sadly did not live up to the price it charged. £25 would've been a reasonable price for what we got, if it was £25 for all four persons, not per person!
Edward & the driver had actually tried to charge two of my friends (who hadn't prepaid) £50 each! For a bus tour that still had about 30 empty seats after everyone boarded, to which they sensibly declined.
As for the tour itself, lackluster. The traffic can be excused, that's not their fault. But we travelled so little, especially given the sightseeing was arguably the only good part. Definitely should've gone around Buckingham Palace for instance, surely there's a few ghost stories from that area of London.
The tour was only 30 minutes long. Great in the sense that my group was fed up and eager to try write off the lackluster experience, but 30 minutes for £25? I was expecting at least an hour for that price.
As for Edward our tour guide well, the man was just doing his job to be fair. But his script needs serious tweaking. For instance, the guy did not need a microphone. In the rare moments he wasn't using it, we could all hear him perfectly even when he was on the lower section. Shouting practically every word does not equate to a good performance or making something sound scary. And the jokes, I'm sorry, just got old really quickly. They were the type of corny dad jokes you'd give a chuckle for the first two, but then be rolling your eyes at beyond that.
Overall, it's a great concept, but save your money and go elsewhere. There's a haunted experience near the London Eye which is of similar price but gives you much better value and experiences.
It's like if you have a Ferrari, but with no engine inside it. Great concept but there's more to an experience than just appearance.

June 2021 • Couples
We arrived and were quite excited to go on the tour. The lady who sorted out the bookings was very unprepared and had written bookings in a dodgy notebook.
Once in the bus the tour started out well, though the stories really had nothing to do with ghosts, just fascinating facts about dead people.
The main guy, Cuthbert something was quite good, though forgot half of his speech (he couldn’t even remember the name of Victoria’s Embankment). He was crude at points which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
It was going pretty well until the last 10 minutes where the Cuthbert actor decided to pretend that spirits had come onto the bus. Random videos were played and overly load noises were played!
If you have sensitive hearing, I would prepare!
I also read in previous reviews that technology was an issue, the same thing happened to us so I hope the company take this under review.

I originally booked this tour for June, however, on the due date the company contacted me to advise the trip had been cancelled due to road closures, however they assured me my tickets were valid for 12m. U then rescheduled to go in Oct and I have to say I’m so glad I did as the darkness definitely added to the experience.
The bus itself is undoubtedly the star of the show, beautifully and sympathetically decorated in a gothic manner to add to the adventure!
The trip was very atmospheric and our guide interacted so well with the passengers as we wound our way around the capital, with landmarks being pointed out in the way, along with spooky stories of the sites we passed.
I would recommend this trip to any age group and have to say it is excellent value for money and a good way to spend 90 minutes on a dark London evening.

My daughter and I booked the 4:45 bus tour and arrived at 4:35 and there was two buses parked, we went to the front bus and queued for a long time with nobody knowing what was going on or any organisation or crowd control. Finally two Indian men who just looked like members of the public came to our queue and started looking at people's bookings to which it then transpired that we were in the queue for the 5pm bus along with several others, the two Indian mem then disappeared and nobody knew what was going on. They then asked to see my tickets two times and was told we were in the wrong queue again and to go to the other bus which by this point had almost been filled with people who had only just joined the queue. My daughter started to become upset that we wouldn't get on. They then asked to see our tickets for a third time and we decided to get on this bus by which point all the upstairs seating had been filled and we were extremely disappointed, we came down the stairs and then unbelievably we were asked to see our tickets for a fourth time, by this point I was getting extremely exasperated and said 'you've already seen my tickets three times ', when out of nowhere a very menacing man said "we're allowed to look at your tickets " it was very intimidating and at that point I thought about just leaving. We decided to sit downstairs which was full of much younger children, we were both very fed up by now. The only saving grace was the Cedric the tour guide was brilliant, very engaging and funny. The speakers on the bus were a fraction too loud. I felt sorry for cedric that the tour was being run by these charlatans. Could have been really good otherwise.

We had a sandwich and coffee in a cafe just around the corner before checking in with the supervisor at the bus stop. I suppose we got there around 8:30 and he took our details so we were first on the bus. If you don't mind where you sit on the bus I'm sure you could turn up a bit later but we wanted to sit on top at the front so it was perfect for us.
