- CoolKili0 contributionsPick a different tourNot worth the time or money. We booked 2 tickets, one of us was sick so only one could go. They could not refund the ticket money. My husband who went on the tour said they hardly explained anything in the tower of London. I have been on other tours and they were so informative. He mentioned that there was a loud family on the phone and the guide Stella was not very good nor was she informative. This is literally the first time I’ve booked something on trip advisor / Viator that didn’t turn out to be good. Don’t fall for the ratings, book a different tour.Written 10 December 2024

- Charles F0 contributionsA wonderful day with an exceptional guide! We had an amazing day exploring Stonehenge, Bath and the Roman baths. Our tour guide, Mel, was awesome! He knew a great deal about British history and recounted his stories in an energetic and humorous manner. Our driver, Marlon, was excellent and skilfully managed the small British roads. At the end of the tour Mel made sure that each person on the bus knew where they were going to get back to their hotel. Highly recommended!Written 9 December 2024

It was easy to find the meeting spots, and the trip went smoothly. Marlow did a great job navigating the narrow roads. The trip to Stonehenge and Bath was fascinating. We hit all the main spots and Mel was always available to provide additional information and interesting tidbits. He kept the group entertained. We would highly recommend!Written 9 December 2024

There’s a bit of travel time but Mel’s wit and interesting info had the time pass in no time. I appreciated the amount of time chosen for each site. Stonehenge is cool but not much to see after the monument so I was really glad for the extra time in Bath. The city of Bath was great! And the time given allowed me to see the Roman Baths, Abbey, eat lunch and shop at a few shops. Definitely recommend this tour. Thanks Mel and driver Marlon!Written 9 December 2024

The absolute highlight of the trip was our guide, Mel. From the start, Mel demonstrated a deep knowledge and contagious passion for the history and culture of the places we visited. At Stonehenge, Mel provided us with fascinating information about the construction and significance of the monument, making the visit even more enriching. In Bath, his detailed explanation of the Roman history and the city's architecture was simply captivating. Besides being extremely informative, Mel was also very attentive and fun, ensuring that everyone in the group felt included and entertained. His ability to answer questions and share interesting facts made all the difference. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring these historical landmarks, and if you are lucky enough to have Mel as your guide, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience!Written 9 December 2024
- Trek526035426370 contributionsGlad we joined it!The view of stonehenge was really good! Although the weather wasn’t great and we couldn’t see the sunrise, which would have been even more breathtaking, my boyfriend and I are still glad we decided to join the tour. We had enough time to take photos and listen to our guide's introduction there and also for the shop. Windsor castle was also a great place to discover. We arrived Windsor around 12:00, and the bus left at 15:00. It would have been nice to have more time to explore the town, but it was still enough to visit the beautiful chapel, the dollhouse, and the state rooms in the castle. Robert is our guide and he's nice. As some other reviews have mentioned, the bus does not wait for latecomers, so be careful to every meeting time during the tour! Especially the first one at 5:30 AM for early departure! 5 didn't make it today.Written 9 December 2024

Norma was a terrific guide on our day trip to 3 beautiful areas of England, taking the time to give us a personalised tour of Canterbury Cathedral. It was obvious that she has great knowledge of the history and culture of England, specifically Canterbury, and you could tell she enjoys doing what she does.
Our driver Steve was great fun and went out of his way to show us great views of the Cliffs of Dover despite it being a misty day. The two of them made a great team. I will definitely be touring with Evan Evans in future trips to London, and highly recommend them to others.

This tour was excellent! A wonderful opportunity to see historic sites in the beautiful countryside in southern England. Leeds Castle was especially lovely! The history of Canterbury Cathedral was very interesting to hear, and although a bit chilly on the day we visited the Cliffs of Dover was beautiful and just amazing to see. The tour guide was outstanding...very knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure everyone on the tour had what they needed. There were a few issues with the tour bus itself in that the air conditioning was turned up so high that it felt like sitting in a refrigerator. That said, the bus driver was very kind and responsive in making adjustments upon request. The one area of concern that I did have was that it appeared that there was no mention of a mask requirement despite the notation of the requirement on the reservation at the time of booking. There were at least two of us on the bus who noted that multiple people were coughing and sneezing in different areas of the bus throughout the trip. Although COVID protocols have relaxed some, my thought is that those who appear to be sick or contagious should be encouraged to wear a mask or skip the tour. Whether COVID or something else, I don't want to get sick while on vacation 4000 miles from home. Many on the bus chose to wear a mask, and I'm glad that I did. Aside from that this was a great experience, and I would recommend this tour.

The tour was absolutely amazing. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, and considerate. We had a traffic jam on the way to Leeds Castle and she went and visited every couple on the bus to check on them!
The tour itself was great and would say it is fantastic for couples. I'm not sure I'd recommend this tour for couples with babies or kids who are hard to control. Leeds Castle has a lot of items that could be knocked over, and the time in the bus long.

I found this tour deeply disappointing. My primary motivation for booking this tour was a chance to view the White Cliffs. The other stops would be bonuses for me. Not only are you not able to go atop the cliffs, you can only view them from the beach at a great distance. I feel the description in the tour itinerary is greatly misleading. In addition whilst the castle and cathedral are interesting, the tours themselves are bland and the cathedral is currently covered in scaffolding both in and outside, so a lot of it’s luster is lacking. I understand the scaffolding/construction on a centuries old building is not the tour company’s fault, but our guide seemed aware of this when we arrived and I feel there is a professional obligation to let the customer know the building is not as pictured on the website. I feel the price of this tour does not reflect the wow factor at all, I regret +++ booking this tour.

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a us a review.
We greatly appreciate your feedback and take everything on-board.
We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with certain aspects of the tour. The visit to Dover is a short photo stop.
On regards to the Cathedral being under construction these buildings are hundreds of years old and need to be restored for everyone to enjoy and to be maintained,we understand your frustration, however this is beyond our control.
If you find yourself in London again we would like to host you on another Evan Evans tour in the future.
Kind regards,
Evan Evans Team

My boyfriend and I booked and paid for this tour a few days before it was due to depart. Less than a day later, I received an email from the tour company informing us that the tour was booked out and to contact Viator/Trip Advisor directly to receive a refund. I sent 2 emails requesting the refund, both of which were never replied to. Unfortunately, I stumbled across the online cancellation process a little too late, as you need to do this at least 24 hours in advance. I'm very disappointed in the lack of professionalism in not replying to either of my emails in which I could have been informed of the correct cancellation process a lot earlier to receive a full refund. As a result, I lost at least 200 dollars that I could have spent on another tour or attraction.

First off it is extremely frustrating to find your actual bus for this tour. It is not well marked, there is no obvious check in process, getting in some line that you think may be correct and having some people with arm bands and some without is confusing and there were no tour representatives handing them out, we had to hunt them down. Our tour got rescheduled by the company to a very busy holiday which we were trying to avoid because of the large crowds.
The bus was packed. Which brings me to the bus driver Peter, he was determined to keep the front shades pulled despite being asked on multiple occasions by both the tour guide and the tour paying costumers to raise the shades so we could see the sights. We did pay for a sight seeing tour and our view was blocked the majority of the day. Honestly we should get a discount.
This tour advertised that they go to the White Cliffs of Dover which they do not. They go to the center of Dover proper and way off in the distance are the cliffs. We were highly disappointed.
Our guide was knowledgeable and kind but I would not recommend you take this tour if you are interested in seeing the Cliffs of Dover or seeing the country side as you travel through Great Britain

Dear The M,
Thank you for leaving us feedback about the tour.
Your detailed review is very important to us as it allows us to improve for future visits. We will definitely address your review with all our staff both the good and bad. We especially appreciate you pointing out about the Cliffs, we will forward this to our management team.
Our representatives at the coach station are by Gates 1-5, upon check in the representative will hand you out a coloured wristband and inform you which gate you will be leaving from, please be aware there are different companies boarding by the same gate hence why our staff will inform you to wait for the tour guide to make the announcement by the gate.
Again, we do apologise if certain parts of the tour description was not clear.
Please do not allow this isolated incident stop you from giving us another chance. We are confident that your next experience will be worthy of a 5-star review.

Beautiful trip, perfectly timed! Our guide Nicholas was great, I have learned so much and I could listen to him all day it was so interesting. Not only he did a guided tour of the cathedral, Canterbury and about the history of Leeds Castle, but he also explained so much of what we could see from the coach during the trip and also on our way out of London and back in. Nicholas is very knowledgeable and is able to entertain the crowd while informing at the same time. Perfect prosody. Would recommend 100%!

I’m giving this tour 5 stars because Rowan and Ricky (driver) were the ones that made this trip outstanding. Rowan was so enthusiastic and entertaining, giving us all kinds of fun facts along the way and Ricky’s driving was awesome.
Leeds Castle was beautiful and the proper amount of time was given at this location. More time needed in Canterbury. Cathedral was beyond impressive, an architectural wonder, an absolute don’t miss. Would love more time here to check out the shops and not have to rush through lunch.
Tour company executives, Skip the cliffs, they were underwhelming and compared to seeing cliffs of Moher in Ireland, these are covered with greenery and quite small. Nothing to see, definitely not worth the stop. Also give specific, detailed directions to find the bus depot. We spent 40 min looking for it and nearly missed our trip. Also, very confusing check in. Nothing showing where check in person was, no signage, some people were outside with busses, some on side, some at doors, no clear cue lines, nothing showing checkin location. One woman missed the call to board after checking in and had to literally run after the bus on the street. No microphones. No colorful shirts on employees to make them obvious to the customers. More organization is needed at check in and also a new policy is needed to reclaim items left on the coach. Very slow and most of us are on vacation and only here for a few days. We don’t have multiple days to go through the current cumbersome process. If I did not repeatedly call and email, I would not have gotten my property back.

What a fantastic tour! This should be high in your list of tours if you planning on booking one. Our tour guide Kevin was not only extremely knowledgeable but engaging and humorous. He made it a point to speak with each group on the bus to personalize the tour as best as possible. His stoytelling of historical events as we journeyed to our destinations made the trip pass quickly. Our family of five ranges from ages 56-13 and all of us had a fantastic experience. My son who is 13 said it was his favorite day so far. Thank you Evan and Evan's and our guide Kevin. I couldn't recommend them more.

The first thing to know about this trip is it is a really long day on a bus. It was maybe 60-90 minutes to Leeds Castle our first stop. The grounds are really nice if the weather is good but the castle was so so. There is no "tour" of the castle. The guide simply walks you to the entrance then you follow the signs and see all the rooms without much explanation as to what you are seeing.
Then another long ride to Canterbury. After the cathedral there isn't much to do here except have lunch. Canterbury has more or less the same chain shopping and dining as everywhere else. If you don't buy tickets to tour the cathedral then it's just a stop for lunch and a quick walk of the town.
Finally another hour or so to Dover which is essentially a photo op. 30 minutes to get off the bus and find a spot for some photos-and the bus does not stop right in front of the main part of the cliffs. It was the most disappointing portion of the day.
Lastly a long boring 2 hour ride on the bus back to Victoria Station. So of the 10 hours of the tour roughly half is just on the bus. Additionally our tour guide talked into her microphone the entire time we were on the bus. It was a nonstop monologue and she never really looked at everyone sleeping, playing with their phones or even with headphones on. She didn't read her audience at all and simply rambled on about everything and anything.
While there were some worthwhile things I struggle to recommend this tour to anyone other than those who really like looking out the window of a tour bus.

If you go on a Sunday, is there anything special taking place at Canterbury Cathedral?

Is there time at Leeds Castle to take in the falconry exhibit?
Written 16 February 2024
I am not aware of the exact location of the falconry, however the tour of the castle is "on your own" with adequate time to do some shopping in the gift store and get a drink or ice cream to go. Therefore, I don't know why you couldn't plan your time in the castle to accommodate your desire to see the falconry. Just check out the location of the falconry in relationship to the Castle and the time you desire to spend there.

I am wondering how long between stops where you can use the toilet? And is there a bathroom on the bus? Thank you
Written 5 March 2023
There is a bathroom on the bus. But most never used it, as there were opportunities to use one at the stops.

How close the tour takes you to the Dover cliffs?
Written 14 February 2020
Our bus drove us around , we were able to see the harbor, it stopped in the parking and we had some time to walk on the beach.
It was a nice day so we were able the see the cliffs and the French shore.
Altogether a very nice trip

Hi,
We plan to stay night at Dover and go to Calais in the morning.Do you pass Dover city? Can we get of the bus there? What time the Tour ends? Thanks
Written 26 July 2019
I think it depends on the driver... we did Leeds Castle, then Canterbury, then Dover. It was amazing. We had a family in our group that got off in Dover because they were staying a few nights there. The guide even contacted a taxi for them.

Is there a lot of walking or will there be breaks from walking during all stops on tour Thank you
Written 9 July 2019
There is not a lot of walking and you have stops between sites. I have had 6?knee surgeries and had no problem walking anywhere on this trip.
