About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Tezzybear0 contributionsWinter WonderlandWhile the Lakes are wonderful to visit in summer, the crisp winter air and falling snow gave the region additional beauty and majesty. Tim was a fantastic guide, adapting the tour based on the weather, and providing fascinating insights on any and all topics. This is a must do activity when in the region. Can't wait to go back and explore the rest soon.Written 13 January 2025

- CarmenH5120 contributionsExcellent tour of the Lakes!Highly recommend this tour! I mistakenly booked us on this thinking it was a boat tour...ha...but the most pleasant surprise of our trip! Tim was our driver and guide (I was glad to not have to drive for a change) and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. He was well versed in the history and sights. The best part was seeing a small stone circle up close and the views were spectacular at almost every turn. Must do!Written 11 November 2024
- ljmelin0 contributionsA day with WordsworthGillian and Tim were fantastic! They were both incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Gillian made sure that we saw everything possible. We ended the tour at Rydal Mount- my absolute favorite!! We will cherish the time spent exploring Wordsworth’s world.❤️Written 2 November 2024
- annyach0 contributionsThe art of Brontës doth come to life on this tour‘Twas a day steeped in the legacy of the most illustrious literary family of England. We didst traverse the oppressive realms of industrial society, fraught with class divisions—the squalor, the inequity, and the harsh realities for women artistes. Yet, this hardship hath found a counterbalance in the elemental expanse of the moors, where the muse of art may unfurl her wings in unbounded liberty. The fervent affection the Brontë sisters hath shared doth their narratives illuminate, and their indomitable spirit shall a testament be to the triumph of art over the adversities that doth beset their existence. Our guides, the amiable Sandra and the erudite Gillian, hath given us a truly memorable experience, their captivating tales leaving an indelible mark upon our imaginations. We shall eagerly anticipate a return to display our dancing prowess in a Kate Bush dance upon the moors; we doth express our sincere gratitude for this day!Written 28 October 2024

- RetireAndRejoice0 contributionsBest Way to See the Lake District! This was the perfect way to see the Lakes District! We loved being picked up and returned to our hotel on Lake Windermere. Gillian and Sandra were our talented, engaging guide and driver (respectively). Gillian was knowledgeable, entertaining and shared amazing information and stories about the area and local legends. Sandra was an incredible driver, especially on narrow roads on a rainy day. They gave us plenty of time for taking pictures and rest stops. We would do this tour again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend it!Written 19 October 2024

- danielhN9862QH0 contributionsMagic in the Lake District with Beatrix Pitter.A truly magical tour which brings Beatrix Pottet to life. Tim is an excellent guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable. His showing us Potter's watercolors in her books was a stunning addition. He showed us the inspiration of each painting with the real life scene. The half day went by way too fast. I could have spent a whole day on this tour.Written 14 October 2024

Brilliant tour with Tim that met and surpassed expectation. Highly recommend this tour as it included many excellent destinations, a boat ride on one of the lakes and time for a leisurely lunch. We travelled in a comfortable mini bus with only 7 people. We enjoyed the commentary humour and knowledge. The bus is also equipped with recharging facilities for mobile phones. This was an impressive trip.

Collected promptly at pickup point and headed off via a series of very scenic roads before arriving at Ullswater for our lake cruise. The weather was starting to change and clouds and showers moved in. Tim, our guide, quickly re-arranged our tour so that we would have a greater chance of seeing some of the highlights later in the day when the weather should be better. For an excellent preview of the Lake District we recommend this tour.

We enjoyed our tour on Sun 16th June 2024 with our guide Tim. He arrived promptly and the minibus was comfortable and had access to USB charging points. Tim is a fountain of knowledge on the lakes history, people and sheep! accompanied with funny stories. Tim’s expert driving around the narrow roads made it look easy. The small group made for a more personable experience. The viewpoints and scenery were amazing and the cruise on Ullswater was a wonderful bonus. The day was relaxed and not rushed, a great way to see the area and we thoroughly recommend the tour and company. Thanks Tim for a great day.

The best part of the tour is that you don't have to do anything but relax and enjoy the ride and immerse yourself fully in the beauty and experience. Everything has been thoughtfully considered, from the variety of must-see places to plenty of time for photo opportunities to Tim's fascinating and humorous commentary, our driver and guide on the day. I love the smaller group size of the tour; it made it easy to get to know everyone, adding to the friendly atmosphere of the group, and I think it added to the efficiency of the tour, with fewer people to round up at each stop! Just remember to bring lots of appropriate layers as there are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore, and on the lake cruise, the weather was particularly fresh!

An excellent tour with Steve who was knowledgeable, flexible with requests, great humour and stories about the history of the Lakes. Opportunities to stop and take pics, get lunch and explore Keswick town centre. We didn’t get to see Ullswater as advertised as the road was blocked off which Steve notified us of immediately and had arrange a boat trip of an alternative lake so we didn’t miss out too much. All in all, a great day in the Lakes, highly recommend - comfortable vehicle with phone charging points too.

This was a great way to get a taste for the Lake District. Our guides were great, we saw a lot of amazing sites and scenery, and I highly recommend this if you haven't been to the Lake District before. We will definitely be back to this area and this tour gave us an idea of where to explore next. And the gingerbread is amazing!!

We had a wonderful tour with Tim as our guide. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. We learned so much. He provided engaging commentary about the different lakes and writers who lived and were inspired by the beauty of the landscapes and lakes. It was a lovely introduction and sampling of what the Lake District offers. Absolutely loved Sarah Nelson's Ginger biscuits. Tim is an exceptional tour leader.

We went on a full day tour of the Lake District during our holiday and would highly recommend this to others! Tim was so knowledgeable and funny, we felt really comfortable and saw some beautiful sights. This tour was everything we hoped it would be and more. You are really well looked after on your day out, covid precautions are in place and Tim is on hand to answer all of your questions. We loved the stories and interesting facts. The scenery was beautiful and the boat cruise so serene. Thank you for a brilliant day!

I am very pleased that you enjoyed your Ultimate 10 Lakes Tour and that you had a very enjoyable day. We always try to look after our guests on and off the bus and protect them as much as we can with our covid procedures. One of the highlights of the tour is the boat cruise which is a very peacefull experience and, of course, the scenery is breathtaking. Glad that you enjoyed it all and thanks for your review.

I don’t know if adjustments are made due to seasonality, but in August the pick up was at 9:00 and drop off at 18:15 at the Windermere train station. They are responsive to email enquiries if you would like to contact them directly.

Yes, you will need to purchase a seat for them though. There is not much to entertain a child of this age on the trip as it is a scenic tour but they are welcome.
