      Great team social
Claire, the tour guide, was fantastic with everyone in the team, had a great sense of humour and very knowledgeable. We have a few history-nerds in the team so learning more about Brighton was a happy surprise. Huge thumbs on from everyone in the team and lots of people discovered places they said they would return to now they know about them. Thank you.

      Varied tasty food for everyone
We spent a great few hours with Jess sampling some of the DELICIOUS food that independent Brighton has to offer. Time in the venues was just right, and we were well notified of toilet availability. There was a great range to pick from and our food requirements (pescatarian and non drinker) were easily and readily catered for. Highlights for us were Smorls (the thunder hummus is a must buy!), the burger kitchen and the curry leaf! Rainbow organic chocolate is also absolutely amazing. We met up with a local friend on the tour who had never been to any of the places, so this is one for locals looking to discover more about their glorious home town, as well as tourists looking to see a slightly different side of Brighton. Heartily recommend!

Fabulous tour - to be highly recommended! It is a great intro to Brighton food gems, made even better by our great food guide Alex. We 'rolled' home, absolutely stuffed, having had the best time with great company too.

Great tour and fantastic guide. Good food and drinks and great to taste different kind of food and drinks. The stories of the town and places we went to were very good and fun stories about the town.

OMG….. what an AMAZING food tour. We have been to Brighton a number of times and I always look for great quality, locally sourced eateries and my eyes were opened today!! Heaps of thanks to Clare who guided us amazingly through lanes and back streets of Brighton that we didn’t know existed.

Perfect way to explore the independent food scene in Brighton
We did a private food tour for 8 to explore the food scene in parts of Brighton we were unfamiliar with. Angela did an amazing job at communicating with us and setting up the perfect tour for mine and my partners family. Ashley was our guide on the day and was brilliant in leading our group at a good pace. He intermingled historical facts of Brighton with humour and made for a really interesting tour. We went to 7 venues in total but he pointed out a whole host of other places to add to our list. We would recommend this to locals or those popping down for the day. It’s a great way to get familiar with Brignton and the amazing food scene. You won’t be left hungry!

Brilliant tour for foodies in Brighton
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour - even though we live in Brighton, we discovered lots of new places, and learned the stories behind places we already love, thanks to our guide Ashley and the friendly vendors. Everyone in the group was lovely, and will definitely be returning to the venues on the tour and others pointed out along the way. And there was so much food that everyone was stuffed by the end!

      5* Tour
We had the most wonderful day with Brighton Food Tours; Ashley, our guide, was brilliant - so knowledgable and interesting. We live in Brighton and were taken to so many wonderful independent places that we didn't even know existed until now. Only issue... we could barely walk by the end we were so full! Excellent tour!

Chocolate, cinnamon buns, sausages, oysters and ice cream
This was an excellent tour, visiting 7 very different venues. We've lived in Brighton for 20 years, and have never been to any of the places, so it was an eye-opener! The guide Clare was brilliant, and we went at a good pace, not too fast, not too slow. By the end, it wasn't a light lunch equivalent we'd had - we were very full, and didn't need anything to eat in the evening! For me , the sausage roll was the highlight, plus the organic hot chocolate.

      Brighton Food Tour
Really good tour . Very interesting, good food . The visit to Smorls was really intersting with lots of information about the companys history and how the products were made by the owner himself. Couldnt have eaten another thing but enjoyed the doggy bag later in the evening

What a fabulous tour! Alex our guide was very knowledgeable about City of Brighton and although we have visited here many times we still learnt many interesting facts that we were not aware of! The stops at 6 Foodie places on route were great and varied - advice to all - do not eat before this tour! This is a must for all who visit this lovely seaside town, who would be interested in seeing different aspects of Brighton off the main drag. Well done Alex for providing such an entertaining three hours!

I can't thank Brighton Food Tours enough for accommodating my parents on an adjusted VIB weekend tour that allowed for some mobility restrictions. After buying a voucher as a gift, we had a series of bad news and I didn't think we would be able to use the voucher. However Cat and Ange and tour guide Ashley went out of their way to enable us to take part and it meant a great deal. The experience was fantastic so I would have recommended in any case but I really can't thank them enough!

We were not blessed with good weather, but the rain didn't dampen our spirits and we went to 6 incredible stops and learned a great deal about Brighton's history and a number of other independent food places that I am looking forward to trying. All of the stops were great but a highlight was the incredible English cheese and rose in a cosy wine bar with a great sommelier in training. All of the servings were generous and we all came away very well fed, with extra to take home in some cases.

I would very happily repeat the experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a group outing whether you are visiting or living in Brighton.

This year we tried a culinary themed holiday (our children are in their teens and late teens and don't get enthusiastic about family activities anymore, thus I planned a bunch of culinary experimentations). Beside visiting indoor street food markets in London and Greenwich, insider tip bakeries in Newhaven's industrial area and organic ice cream parlours in Lewes, we used the V.I.B. walking food tour in Brighton.
Not cheep, but the sampled food from 7 establishments did a more than light lunch made. We weren't stuffed but delightfully sated (especially after the exquisite nibbles in the Curry Leaf Cafe), and get offered a discount to purchase more (even on later days). After mentioned our dietary requirements beforehand there were vegan and veganic alternatives available which even our omnivore members found more than palatable.
Only a very slight niggle: our guide Ashley was sometimes a little bit too swift-footed (since our tight schedule was strained by chatty hosts) for us tourists to keep up in the traffic, but he waited a bit away and we only missed some of his many additional information on Brighton's history and culinary and architectural sights.

Thanks so much for the lovely review. "Delightfully Sated" is what we are aiming for! I'm sorry if Ashley was a little fleet of foot for you. He would not have minded if you asked him to slow a little. So pleased it was still a 5 star review though. Thanks so much for taking the time to write it!

The VIB Walking Food Tour with our guide Claire was an amazing experience. As visitors from Australia there were many cafes and restaurants in Brighton that we didn't recognise as chains, which resulted in two very average meals the day before the tour. Claire was able to set us straight, but more importantly was able to communicate her knowledge and enthusiasm for the many passionate independent producers in Brighton. We got to meet many of the producers, hear their stories and sample their food, all of which was sensational. Along the way Claire also gave recommendations for other producers and gave the back story for many of these businesses. Hearing these stories from Claire and the producers was one of the best aspects of the tour as it explained why these businesses offer such high quality and delicious food, and inspired us to seek out independent food businesses on the rest of our travels. The tour was great value and a lot fun. The amount of food we sampled left us very full, but with only one night in Brighton left we took Claire's recommendation of Mexican restaurant Carlito Burrito and we were not disappointed.

This food tour was so much more than we anticipated. Ashley was very informative about the history, area, as well as all the different foods we tasted. We loved the locally sourced, sustainable, independent profile of the varied foods and drinks we tasted. 100% highly recommend. We appreciated walking through the different parts of Brighton to experience each of the sectors’ flavors.

Lovely tour with the wonderful Gill as our guide. Been to Brighton many times and even lived there for a while, but Gill was still able to teach me a few things I did not know. It was also amazing that they were able to accommodate the fact that my sister and I don't drink or eat meat/pork. As with (almost) everything in Brighton, it was comfortably inclusive!

This is an excellent walking tour of independent food producers, cafe's and restaurants in various parts of Brighton. Ashley was very knowledgeable and entertaining, providing background information about all the places we visited as well as many that we walked past. He also gave us interesting stories about local characters. We live in Hove and still learnt about a lot of new places to eat and shop.
The varied dishes and drinks were lovely, as were all the owners and staff.
    Thoroughly recommended.

What a fantastic tour, Alex was a brilliant guide leading us aound five independent eateries in Brighton whilst weaving in history about the city. We met some really passionate people who talked enthusiastically about their food and of course tasted some really delicious samples, and you will finish the tour feeling well fed! Alex also made recommendations for dinner that evening - Alex if you read this Chilli Pickle was the best Indian I have been to, thank you!

We had a wonderful time last weekend on the tour with our delightful guide Simone. The tour was originally bought as a Christmas gift in 2019 for our two daughters and their partners. One pandemic later and we ended up with a private tour for the six of us in 2021! Needless to say Brighton Food Tours were amazing when it came to rescheduling then re-rescheduling again and again, extremely patient and happy to oblige when we ended up with our private group.

I won't tell you about the tour itself as I don't want to spoil it for you, but I can tell you that it was fantastic. Simone was a lovely person to be with, very informative and the places she took us too were amazing. The food was delicious and we were comfortably full by the end - even had to take some bits home as a goody bag!

I would like to say a special thank you to Simone, as our eldest daughter is 3 months pregnant and early on in the tour had a bout of morning sickness. Simone was so thoughtful, kind, considerate and mindful the rest of the tour to make sure my daughter was comfortable and enjoyed the tour. But Simone did this in a way to make sure that my daughter (and the rest of us) didn't feel that it was an inconvenience or that it overshadowed the day.

I would definitely do this tour again as I know they use multiple venues so we could easily come across other gems. We will also definitely be revisiting the venues that we were taken too, they were all friendly, welcoming and served amazing food.

Just can't recommend highly enough really - excellent value too.

We booked this tour to kick start our day at the fringe festival. We have done food tours before and hoped it’ll be just as good and it did not disappoint.

Being a local I really hoped they were going to take me to some new places I could go back to and explore more in my own time and that’s exactly what happened.

Our guide Simone was friendly and super knowledgeable.

We visited 7 places and ate generous portions of food. We had sausage rolls, vegan sushi, hummus, organic chocolate, cheese and wine, ice cream and burgers. It was all delicious.

Highly recommend for locals and visitors to the city to get a taste of all the amazing independent places in this wonderful city as well as a nice little walking tour.

We had a wonderful time thank you 👍🏻😊
