2-Hour Iron Bridge Cruise on River Dee in Chester
From USD 20.87
Overview
Enjoy a tranquil way of exploring Chester and the surrounding countryside when you book a cruise along the River Dee. Pick between two afternoon departure times, and climb aboard your vessel in central Chester. As you sail down the river, look forward to spotting the elegant Eaton Estate, see the Aldford Iron Bridge, and spy other area attractions. You can also admire the bucolic scenery and glimpse local wildlife like cormorants and kingfishers.
What to Expect
Enjoy a leisurely 2 hour cruise through ‘Eaton Estate’, home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster. This stunning journey is an extension of our city cruise up the beautiful River Dee, cruising through rural Cheshire, past Heron Bridge and Eccleston Ferry, meandering around the Crook of Dee and through ‘Eaton Estate’. Just beyond Aldford you will see the wonderful sight of the Iron Bridge, before you then return to Chester.

This is an excellent outing for sightseers to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the river whilst you may also have the opportunity to see and photograph wild life including Swans, Herons, Cormorants, Moorhens and even Kingfishers. Your cruise will be punctuated with informative sightseeing commentary.

There are two sailings a day, 12 noon and 2.30pm so you can plan your lunch around the time you sail; you could even bring your own lunch on board. Even better, if you are booking as a group, why not pre-order lunch from the excellent range of menus.

2 hour cruise on river dee

This 2 hour cruise is no longer available we found when we had to take a shorter half hour cruise. At this time of year the 2 hour cruises are left until next year.

With a long day in Chester, two hours sitting in a boat was a welcome break. There was a commentary as we went out of the city, then periodically thereafter. I enjoyed the peaceful river, looking out for wildlife - the kingfishers were elusive, but...More

For the fish and chip night and other special events it’s best to buy online. Otherwise I believe you can buy tickets down by the river near Hickory’s Smokehouse.
