        Wonderful tour in Auckland
Wonderful experience, must visit Hobbiton even you are not a LOR fan. Our tour guide Matt picked up promptly at the designated time. He is friendly, courteous, and full of local knowledge. The van is clean and comfortable. I like it’s a small group with only 12 people. The lunch is delicious, with entree, dessert, and a drink. Wonderful day, a bit trek to see the attractions, it’s nice to join a tour so you don’t have to worry about driving.

        Free on Google Maps !!
I guess most of the visitors would be fan's of the films I went with my friend as she was but in all honesty the tour around the set just gives you locations of scenes and incidents in the movies. I is way overpriced for what it is and it is so busy you are ushered along when the group in front moves to make room for the group behind. You can look for nothing on Google Maps!

        BEST HALF-DAY TOUR EVER!
I was solo for this tour. Our tour guide Mike was brilliant and certainly knew Auckland back to front. He was informative and had the best sense of humour. Thanks Mike, you made my visit to Auckland memorable.

        Fantastic Experience
This was a really great tour, and Liam was a fantastic tour guide! He provided fun stories, commentary and facts about New Zealand, and we even got to learn a bit of Maori. We highly recommend anyone take this tour who is looking to see more of New Zealand outside of Auckland.

        Magical experience!
We had a remarkable wonderful magical day! 6 of us shared this trip today! The tour was beautifully spaced with care, breaks and the food was quite good! Our guide, Mike, was perfect! Friendly!, fun, knowledgeable, helpful, good sense of humor, pointed out so many beautiful things along the way, knew flowers, trees, which animals we saw, and nature, taught us facts we would not have known, and kept us organized. He is one of the best guides I’ve had in years! He added a perfect touch to our special day!! He was professional yet felt like chosen family! I would recommend this trip to everyone! A magical joyful stress free day full of magic nature and the best of life!

        Awesome communication and fun day!
Everything was so smooth and well organized! Communication prior to the day was very clear and easy to understand. Our guide was Liam and he was so much fun and made our bus trip very interesting and the time flew by! At no point in the day did we feel like we did not understand what we were supposed to be doing or where we were supposed to be in order to be on time to each activity. Absolutely awesome experience and would recommend to anyone!

        Nice day trip from Aukland
Everyone was so friendly, and information about the trip was communicated clearly. The driver was very knowledgeable, and I'm so glad I booked it. I needed to go straight to the airport after the trip, and was able to get dropped off on the way back into Aukland so I could make my flight.

        Take this tour!
Great value for your money! Point to point pick up/drop off was very convenient! Mike, the tour guide was very conversational and informative explaining the sights on the trip and aspects of NZ culture/history. Very well organized and enjoyable. Lunch was fantastic & being at Hobbiton an unforgettable experience for Tolkien fans! The caves were fascinating- good shoes are a must as you descend in near darkness to witness the glow worms. A full day and well worth the cost to get out of the city and see rural landscapes!

Shire is totally magical, glowworms are a magical bonus !
This was a phenomenal tour for anyone looking for a day trip in the North Island to knock off two excellent attractions! Multiple convenient options where you can get picked up /dropped off in CBD area (where many hotels and Airbnbs are) . The experience in Hobbiton is magical - period. It's everything you would hope for and more. The glowworms cave is a unique experience as well and it was a great way to round off the day trip. The drive to the locations takes you through some beautiful country side of New Zealand. My bus driver Brenda was a lovely personality. She was engaging with all the guests in the bus (the group in my bus was a total of 20 people). She helped me with quite some pictures along the way (which I appreciated being a solo traveler). As a solo traveler making a bucket list trip to NZ, this tour was just what I was looking for a day trip to experience the Shire. Honestly for me, the glow worms cave trip was a nice bonus 🙂.

I think this tour is perfect for folk who have 1 day in Auckland, and want to see lots of things.
The driver / guide was Mike, and he was fine.
I thought that the tour was overpriced.
The place they took us for lunch ( at the
traveler’s expense ), we were extremely unimpressed with. The food was overpriced and the portions very small.
One lady in the group had fish & chips,
      and her portion was big.
I had the pork belly and all 4 bites were
very tasty. The problem being there were only 4 bites ( okay, maybe 6 bites )
The tour itself was fine, no major complaints, other than the restaurant, and that i felt that the tour overall was too expensive for value
      received.
I think most people would like this tour-
after 30+ years in the travel industry,
      I am very particular.

Thank you for choosing our tour and your comments. Our lunch destination is historic as dates back to 1857. The location is picture perfect. So many guests say that this is one of the highlights of their day; so we regret that this wasn't your experience. Their menu is extremely extensive as you would have seen, some 4 pages and includes everything from steak, to fish to seafood, to pasta to salads to vegetarian etc. We pride our tours on being excellent value for money and we are sorry you felt otherwise as $120 for an 8-Hour tour including wine tasting is the most competitive and comprehensive Full Day 8-Hour tour available. It was a privilege hosting you and showcasing Auckland to you. Best wishes for the rest of your holiday.

We had David as our guide and driver. The weather was raining and uncooperative for a spring tour in Auckland. However, David was irrepressible and did not let the weather get him down.
He knew his stuff about Auckland and answered all our questions about the city. He drove us all around the various peninsulas that make up the city and its suburbs. He discussed the architecture as we passed notable buildings. The wine tasting at Soljan's was enlightening (Who knew that Rose was so smooth?) He discussed the NZ history as he took us for lunch at Riverhead that was founded only 17 years after New Zealand was founded.

All in all, the tour was excellent. We look for tours like this in every city we visit (and we have taken a lot of tours) and this tour is in our top ten.

If you want to get familiar with Auckland, you cannot go wrong with this tour. David was everything you want in a tour guide: very knowledgeable, personable, funny, but not too much. He gets to know his charges and makes everyone feel at ease.

He even made the weather change to sunny and windy :)

      Highly recommended.

Picked up at the pier for a full day of exploring the beautiful city of Auckland. Mike was our driver and our tour guide with a fountain of knowledge. We visited all the highlights of the Auckland and also enjoyed a delicious lunch and also visited a winery. Walking up a volcano to view the city was priceless. This is a MUST tour when you visit Auckland for the very first time and it’s worth every penny.
      Great tour Mike!

Wow! Loved your headline " Simply amazing." You experienced first hand why we pride our tour as being the most comprehensive 1 Day Tour available of Auckland. Whether, like you ,on a cruise ship or at a hotel, our tour truly encapsulates the real Auckland with its vibrancy, spectacular scenery and the 360 views atop our volcanoes (extinct of course) that give the most amazing views of Auckland. You can now appreciate why to see the best of Auckland you need to be in a smaller 12-15 centre vehicle rather than the 50/60/70 seater coaches as, due to the topography of Auckland, we journey to places the large buses physically cannot go to. No doubt when you reflect on a map of Auckland you will truly appreciate how much of Auckland we covered and you saw; and yes the historic lunch stop that so many guests say is one of the highlights of the day not to mention the wine tasting (included in our tour) We appreciated your comment also " it’s worth every penny. " as we believe everyone of our 8 tours are excellent value-for-money Thank you for choosing our tour and best wishes

Our tour guide was Mike -- he was excellent in every way. From booking the tour to reminders to on time pick up this tour was just amazing. There were 9 people on our tour from all over the world and we had a great time. There is so much to see in Auckland outside the CBD and we saw it all, beautiful beaches, sailboats, yachts, sheep, harbor bridge, America's Cup Club, historical villas, 1920's gunnery cannon, fabulous lunch at Riverside restaurant, pastoral areas with rolling hills and a wine tasting and lastly gelato stop.

Don't miss this great tour and an easy way to see Auckland.

This was a great tour of Auckland, showcasing the most amazing and scenic areas of Auckland such as the summit of Mt. Eden and a great view of the Gannet Colony in Muriwai Beach. Our tour guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional and did his best to include all members of the tour and accomodate all of their needs. Overall, this tour was enjoyable and I could not recommend this enough for those wanting a crash course of the scenic and historical nature of Auckland.

Isn't Auckland such a spectacularly scenic city; no better 360 degree views than from some of our extinct volcanoes that you commented on. We love your photos showcasing the rugged beauty of our west coast. We had an amazing day seeing Auckland with Mike. There were so many places to see, from the beaches to the homes of the rich and sometimes famous on Paratai Drive to the ferns and flowers in the Domain and more. Mike told us the history of the places we saw, kept us amused, and was always eager to take photos of us.

I enjoyed all of our stops; the BYO lunch at the Riverhead Tavern was great (Mike recommended the Market Fish risotto, and it was delicious), and the wine tasting at Soljans was very nice (and they ship wine at a reasonable price!). Our visit to the Disappearing Gun at North Head was another highlight.

Mike even included a couple of surprises - a stop in Devonport for gelato for those who wanted it, and a visit to the America's Cup at the RNZYS.

      It was a great day!

Did so much, saw so much in a single amazing day! David was a terrific guide. The winter gardens (Victorian and the Fernery) were gorgeous. The view from Mt Eden, Auckland's highest volcano, was exhilarating. Tour also included at least a dozen other stops, including a tasting at a 5 generation owned winery, spectacular vantage points above the city, underground military tunnels, and a drive through the charming town of Devonport. Highly recommended!

I had only one day in Auckland NZ (while my husband was on a business trip) to get the most out of this tour experience of this beautiful country. Luckily the concierge at the Sofitel Auckland connected me with this company. I originally was looking for a 3 hr walking tour. Nothing was available that fit into my time frame. This tour was presented to me and I decided to go for it. Dave was the amazing tour guide, I can’t say enough about Dave…he was THE BEST!! Along with me, a New Yorker who relocated to Florida, there were a couple from Sri Lanka, 3 people from Sydney Australia, a couple from Perth Australia and a mother/daughter from Tahiti. It was a great mix of wonderful people. The knowledge and amount of information given to us by Dave was truly a gift! The tour transformed my relationship with Auckland NZ from one of complete ignorance to one of true love and appreciation. Thanks Dave and the other fellow tourists for a very memorable 8 hours. XOX

Our guide, Mike, made the trip very enjoyable. He shared his extensive knowledge of the history of Auckland with the group. He drove us thru the different neighborhoods describing the characteristics of each area. We stopped at the many scenic vistas to take photos. All questions were answered and we never felt rushed to get to the next destination. The time was well spent and I would recommend the Full Day Tour..
