About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Kahlia D0 contributionsGreat experience for all ages!Would highly recommend this tour. This was a great day trip, suitable for everyone of all ages including our children ages 4-9. Bus was comfortable and clean, Puffing Billy was a great experience (especially hanging our legs out of the train), and the Animal Sanctuary was one of the most well maintained and friendliest zoos I’ve ever been to. Sam was a great host! Friendly, informative and great with the kids. Thanks for having us Sam 😀Written 10 November 2024
- Javel780 contributionsFun and enjoying the jokes on our wayMe and my wife had a cool, nice avenger on are way to puffin Billy and wildlife sanctuary this past Wednesday with one of the best tour guy Gerry yes with a G that what he say and we laugh all the way to our tour thanks to my guy. Me and my wife appreciate the good time thank again Gerry I recommend the tour with him. You’re gonna enjoy the good timeWritten 4 November 2024
- 888maisiet0 contributionsExceeded expectationsGreat day trip. Aside from the penguins and the train we were able to make multiple stops along the way to visit beaches and see the amazing views. Our tour guide Sam went above and beyond with his knowledge and making sure we got to see all the best stops. Would definitely recommend.Written 29 October 2024
- ericcM8403GS0 contributionsThis is a good experience for us and this is the first time visit to Melbourne!!We took a lot photos, enough time for us to see an awesome views and the tour arrangement so good! The tour guide Mr.Sam so funny and patience, I’m really appreciate and thanks for him driving safety😂Written 27 October 2024
- CM C0 contributionsFull day trip - Great Ocean RoadThe time spent on each stop is fair enough so we can enjoy our lunch and doing sightseeing at different spots and taking great photos, Sam is our guide and he’s very nice. Besides sharing story about loch ard gorge with us, he also helped to “scan” a wild koala for us :)))Written 25 October 2024
- 905clivel0 contributionsFruitful tourA very fruitful experience. Sam gave a very informative commentary throughout this whole day trip. I will definitely recommend visitors to join this trip.Written 25 October 2024
- J4025JCalaaa0 contributionsBusiness & leisureOur driver Sam was very special explain everything and funny too. I highly recommend to visit if you are in Melbourne, very affordable tooWritten 25 October 2024
- joeyaS9050NK0 contributionsAmazing Sam!!!Sam is very friendly, approachable and easy to talk to. He has a great sense of humour. He can be my tour guide anytime. Keep up the good work Sam !! Hope to see you next time.Written 18 October 2024
- Seeitalldoitall0 contributionsGreat time!Great day with Explore Australia Tours. Pick up was easy and close to our hotel. Our tour guide Bill was also the driver. He gave great commentary while driving to the Dandenong Ranges. First stop was for coffee and a short hike through a nature trail. Then off to the Puffing Billy Train. Train has a lot of history and it’s fun to travel with your legs hanging over if only for a short time and photo op. We took the one hour ride from Emerald to Lakeside route. Stopped at Lake side stop to grab to go sandwich and ate by the Emerald Lake. Then off to fantastic Healesville Sanctuary, I could have spent an entire day here! The layout is a little confusing at first but wonderfully clean and the animals are kept in their natural environments. There is a bird show that we did not attend. The gift shop has plenty of items to choose from. We then drove through the beautiful Yarra Valley and saw kangaroos in the wild on the way back to Melbourne. Thank you Bill for letting us Waltz Matilda with you!Written 17 October 2024
- Gavin B0 contributionsPBST 1 day reviewWonderful full day with Darren providing great knowledge about history of the Dandenong regions. Fun being on the Puffin Billy railway and the Animal Sanctuary was awesome and second to none. Absolute value for money and would commend others to give it a go. GavinWritten 17 October 2024
- laureenc1030 contributionsEnjoy and relax, Sam is here !Penguins, koalas, kangaroos, dingoes, opossums, wallabies... What a lovely day! Sam was an ideal guide: kind, (really) funny and attentive at everyone well being. He gave us lots of very interesting informations throughout the day. The tour is very well thought out and the mechanics well-established. If you drive by Cowes, a pit stop at the Ocean Reach brewery is mandatory ;)Written 12 October 2024
- AndyF4300 contributionsHighly RecommendedWent on two tours with this company, both of which were about 12 hours long. Covered an awful lot of ground and saw lots of stuff. The guides/ drivers were young, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They worked very hard to cover all the ground. The tours I did were Great Ocean Road, and All Around The Bay Food & Wine. Both excellent, although very tiring. Recommended.Written 11 October 2024
- I7715LXjulieg0 contributionsLunch not what we expectedStops at the viewing points and the stroll through pretty Sorrento was lovely and St Andrews Beach Brewery is wonderful. However we had picked this tour over the many others on offer to the peninsula because lunch was described as "During the two-hour sailing journey, you’ll enjoy a lunch of local produce" and "Lovers of food and wine will enjoy this relaxing lunch made up of a shared grazing table of the regions best produce". This turned out to be kiosk vouchers on a car ferry. NOT what we were expecting for our day out.Written 3 October 2024
- 642ivyt0 contributionsTrain experience was great. The rest are so soHealesville sanctuary was so so, could have been kept out of the itinerary. The stop at the little cafe before Puffing Billy was also a bit unnecessary, food there was also overpriced. The train ride was the highlight, we had a great experience and Lockey was kind enough to take photos. Tour guide was full of great energy throughout the trip. Would want to just get the train ride instead of the whole day tour ideally.Written 30 September 2024
- spicky010 contributionsPuffer BillabyGina from Explore Australia was excellent, very informative about country & first nation people. Hanging feet out of windows on puffer billy was unique, depending on which side of the carriages you sit on depends on the view. Sanctuary was a Sanctuary, bird show was impressive.Written 28 September 2024

Had an amazing experience going on the Hot water springs tour with Gina! She went out of her way to make this day a really great one, giving us some very interesting facts about Melbourne and Australia as well as about the places we were headed to (she’s a great storyteller!), always being very happy to take photos and enriching the experience with some wildlife viewing on our way back!
Gina also very kindly lent me her powerbank when I needed to charge my phone! I was surprised to learn she was new to tour guiding because she’s done a fantastic job, again thank you so much for everything Gina!!

Very crowded in sections.
We found a quiet part but would have liked to explore more areas.
The young people bombing in the cold plunge pools was not appreciated. They were not respectful of the older generation.
A few older couples expressed concern about their behaviour.
It did impact on our decision if we would revisit the spa.
Loved the steam bath & heat spa.
Very well designed with nature all around. The locker set up was not explained to us very well by the wellness centrexstaff as one whole sections was blocked for some large group in the female locker area. The female customers were walking around looking for where to lock up their belongings. The staff at reception were exceptional & very helpful.
I went 7 years ago & had a wonderful experience but it was not so busy.
We were visiting from Perth.
The drivers of the bus were very friendly & accommodating to our needs.

Thank you for choosing to explore the Peninsula Hot Springs with us, Maggie. I'm sorry to hear that you found some areas of the tour to be too crowded, and that the behavior of some guests was not respectful. We work hard to create a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all of our guests, and glad you found some quiet places.
I want to thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We will be sure to pass along your feedback to the team at the Peninsula Hot Springs so that they can be addressed. Thank you again for your feedback!

I took a tour with Explore Australia Tours to visit the Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs and I had an awsome relaxing day. We also stoped at two great view points along the way. Thank you so much to Mathew our fabulous, guide for the day. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and professional and he really took pleasure in his job while making sure we all had a great day and felt part of the group whether solo or in your own group. It does help to be lucky to share this day with some lovely people though. Which was all brilliant for me, as I took this tour as a solo traveller. I will definitely choose them again for future adventures and will of course recommend when i get the chance. Thank you.
Tips for travellers: you get a towel provided with this tour operator, but you can also hire a robe and a locker for the day. Bring flip flips (thongs). There is a nice cafe for food and drink on site, but you can also bring your own refreshments and there are lovely places to sit. Make sure you bring an empty water bottle, so you can fill it from the water taps everywhere this water is so nice. The showers and changing facilities are really good, and there is body wash provided. There are power points for a hair dryer if you have one. Extras are available to book so ask at the reception for what's on, so if you wanted to get covered in clay, or take the fire and ice class, or book a massage. I definitely recommend using the cold plunge pools.

The staff were very attentive and we so very helpful to me. I had a fall going to the tour bus in Melbourne.
I still went in the bus to the tour but the first aid staff said it wouldn’t be good for my body as I needed ice on my ankle, shoulder and knee.
I rested in the cafe, and the staff kept changing the ice packs. I would highly recommend the resort as the staff are very caring and very attentive. Thank you so much for looking after me.

Really relaxing especially after a tiring day trip to the great ocean road and walking around the city over the weekend. It was less packed than I imagined on Monday. The traffic was a bit busy but we got around 4 hrs, which was enough to explore all those pools. Great view from the bayside cable car and met a lovely kangaroo couple on our way to the bathing boxes. Highly recommended if u wanna chill a bit from ur trip.

Matt is our driver and tour guide. He is very friendly and adept at engaging us in lively conversations throughout the trip. The tour was highly relaxing, with many picturesque views for us to photograph. We were blessed with excellent weather that allowed us to fully appreciate the stunning skylines and oceanscapes. The Peninsula Spring tour is definitely an easy and enjoyable outing to sign up for.

Julia was very friendly approachable and informative as a driver. The springs were amazing. The springs themselves should have some heated drying racks for robes though! As half way through the day they are soaking and cold. But regarding the bus trip itself the stop offs on the way and home weren’t spectacular but aslong as you’re mainly just going for transport to the hot springs it’s great. We got about 4.5 hrs at the hot springs which was great and it was very well organised.

The bus was comfortable, guides are friendly. Not only the program did offer nearly 5hours of hot springs but also we were able to see boxes at Bromana beach which is same as colorful as in Brighton beach. The springs property is so big and as a fan of hot springs I loved long hours of time in hot springs :). Me myself and my parents was so satisfied.

Tour of Pensiula hot springs.
It was a great experience to take the Penisula hot springs tour. Our guide called me and waited for me at the mail exchange hotel.
After we arrived at the hotel, he let us stay a few hours, checked that everyone was fine, then told us to meet him after lunch.
He was very kind to drop me at the front of my hotel as we drove back to the hotel.
This was an amazing tour. Thank you very so much.

Our tour guide Shawn is really nice guy and let us know many about the city and information about Australia. Hot spring are absolutely perfect for relaxing. Highly recommend to come here and join this tour!
非常建議參加此溫泉團,我於此溫泉景點逗留4個小時左右再去彩虹小屋。加上司機導遊Shawn 亦有於沿途介紹景點及時些歷史及協助拍攝照片,整體覺得時間分配非常好。
