See the penguins of Boulders Beach from a different vantage point—a kayak in False Bay—on this tour from Simon's Town. With a guide in the lead to provide paddling instruction and navigation, you'll enjoy the scenery on the way to the best possible views of the waddling penguins. Learn about the birds' biology and behavior, as well as the surrounding marine environment, through your guide's engaging commentary as you paddle.
What to Expect
You leave from Simon's Town Waterfront jetty on Wharf Street at 8.30am, returning 2 hours later and paddle out past the Naval Harbour where you get a view of some of the biggest vessels and out to Boulder's Beach to see the penguins - and how better to see the famous penguins than in their own element. Expect to see Cape Fur seals on the way as well. If the time and tide is right you will stop on a local beach for a swimming break or even jump off the kayaks for a dip. You then paddle back to your launch site at the jetty enjoying the magnificent views of the Table Mountain range towards the fabled Cape Point.

Great kayak tour

No words can describe the emotions of paddling surrounded by seals and penguins in a warm and sunny winter day; wordeful landscapes. Thank you!

Great Fun!

We had a great morning kayaking in Simon's Town. The kayaks are great - we had never used ones that steer with their feet but it is much easier. It was quite a windy day but we managed just fine with one teen in each...More

Brave paddle with the penguins

Great little trip with Derek and Brian. Good equipment, kayaks are stable even in choppy seas. Great trip for the family.

Fun Way to see Penguins

You have to work a bit harder, but far better than standing with a busload of people on a crowded overlook all trying to see the penguins. You paddle in double kayaks so it is not too hard. Due to South African navy ships the...More
