          Off the beaten track
I can highly recommend Kitonga Tours. They managed to facilitate a 21 day Safari - bush camping - one week before we arrived. Thanks to the crew Anderson, Isaac, and Scout. They did a fantastic job. And that’s not easy when camping wild. Guiding was great, driver drove us safely around and our cook, made the best food we ever had in the bush. Thanks to Paul Kisibara at the office.

          Wild dog expedition in Ruaha
We contacted Kitonga Tours to set up a custom 5 day Ruaha safari dedicated to finding wild dogs. They were the only operator who really seemed to understand and align themselves to our mission. We communicated with Paul throughout booking and he was able to answer all of our detailed questions. We stayed in the very comfortable and excellent value tourist bandas, and Kitonga arranged a chef to come with us who prepared delicious meals. In the weeks before we arrived the wild dogs had seemingly vanished, but Paul and driver/guide Habakuki put together a methodical plan based on their vast knowledge of Ruaha National Park. Paul's positive attitude helped us carry through long days of searching on some of the most infrequently visited areas, and Habakuki was a total professional who knew every track in the park. We spent 4 great days in the park and had sightings of lions, serval, hyena, foxes, and more all to ourselves - but the wild dogs eluded us. Finally on day 5 the planning was rewarded when we spent over 30 magical minutes watching a pack of 16 wild dogs that emerged across the river, right where Paul and Habakuki speculated they might be. We would absolutely book with Kitonga Tours again and would recommend Kitonga (and Ruaha National Park) to all of our friends.

Human centered and caring to make your dream come true!
I had 9 days camping safari in July with Kitonga. From the initial communication with the office and our guide for the organization, the interaction was super easy. The owner, Gerald, take the time to meet with us at our arrival to make sure that you are having the best time ever. Our guide, Issa, is exceptional, calm, reassuring, easy to talk to, very knowledgeable about wildlife and animals, and so respectful. I felt safe and well care of. He puts in place everything to make sure that my dream came true. He and Gerald organized a thoughtful surprise at the end of Mkomazi national park visit to celebrate my birthday. I get heartache easily in a car when I don’t drive and the roads in Africa are very rough but I didn’t get any of that, thank you to the driving skills of Issa! The car is very well maintenance and comfortable, what is very important. I ate like a queen everyday with Victor, the chef who were accompanied us. They provide a lot of bottles of water and food, believe me you’ll never go hungry!! The planning of the trip is well done, no wasting time between park visits. I find that company so human centered and caring about our needs. I had the time of my life! I will definitely return with Kitonga for my next trip and I recommend them all the way.

Way up to the Roof of Africa
Way up to the Roof of Africa with Kitonga Tour was amazing experience. We did 8 days Lemosho Route in October. Very lucky with the weather, no rain. Our guides Stanley and Ombenio were absolutely fantastic. They pushed us to achieve the best performance while balancing energy. The TEAM was fabulous and put in a solid effort every day to arrange everything. We couldn't have asked for a better travel companion for our Kilimajaro adventure. Gerald Sante Sana for organising all!

3 Days in Ruaha National Park and two days in Iringa – with teenager girls
We (mother with twin-daughters at 16 years), had a wonderful Safari-tour with Kitonga Tours. I started the preparations 4 months before the trip, and had close mail-correspondence with Paul from the Kitonga-office for several months. It was very important for me that we got the “perfect” tour, and I had many questions regarding the tour-plan, timing, transportation, pricing etc, which Paul always answered fast and patiently. So, I felt very confident and safe to use Kitonga as our tour-agency. Before going to Iringa/Ruaha we spend some days in the North of Tanzania, so we had arranged with Kitonga to pick us up in Kondoa. We were picked up here in a very nice and comfortable transfer car, so the 9 hour drive to Iringa was just nice and relaxing, with wonderful view of local life and nature along the road. We were served cold drinks along the whole way, could charge our phones in the car, wi-fi was available most of the time, and the driver was driving safely. We slept at “Iringa Sunset Hotel”, a very nice place with great view from the terrasse-restaurant, very nice rooms, and extremely friendly staff. The only thing to comment on was the weather: In the end of June it was quite cold here. Early next morning we started the beautiful drive (3 hours) to Ruaha National Park, and by noon we started the game-drive in the park. The wildlife in Ruaha is fascinating. In three days we saw a LOT of animals. The park is famous for the large number of elephants, and there are also very many giraffes, impalas, water bucks, baboons, etc. We also saw several lions, jackals, buffalo’s, and even wild dogs, and some animals we never had heard about before. Paul and the driver were good at spotting the animals, and explaining about them. The Park is very big, and therefore we were sometimes driving for a while without spotting any animals, but the landscape in the park is really amazing – not at least all the huge and old Baobab trees. There are also many beautiful palm trees, funny sausage trees, and a lot more. But the main reason to visit Ruaha is the quite atmosphere, and the less amount of other tourists. Here you do not drive in a long row of cars, there will often pass hours without seeing another Safari-car, and you therefor get a feeling of an authentic safari-experience. The bandas where we were sleeping inside the park were simple but charming, with animals grassing outside during the night. Kitonga Tours did a great job in arranging and realizing our Safari-tour – making our dream come true

          Great Kilimanjaro climbing
Great Kilimanjaro Climbing I am very happy that we booked our Kilimanjaro trek with Kitonga Tours. They actually did exceptionally well in all aspects of the climb. Communication during the planning phase was excellent, Mr Gerald was had timely responses and answered our numerous questions in detail. When it came to make payments the system was secure and there were no hidden charges. Our experience in Tanzania was awesome from start to finish. The team played their roles extremely well, from the professional friendly guides, porters, chef and toilet duty were excellent. We had reliable excellent equipment and a professionals team with us all through. We are very happy that we made it safely to the summit. I fully recommend Kitongatours for Kilimanjaro

2 day safari to Ruaha National Park
We went on a 2 day safari in Ruaha National Park with guide Paul and driver Isa on january 13-14 starting and ending in Iringa. Two days means you are allowed a max of 24 hours in the park. They were always on time and very kind. Communication with Gerald Gabriel prior to the trip was absolutely flawless. The safarijeep was perfect and private for me and my friend. Water and fruit were provided in the Jeep although we didn't get to eat the fruit. Paul had an amazing eye for spotting animals. We only wished he gave some explanation about the animals instead of just naming them. In general we missed a little bit of energy from him although he was very kind. The game driving wasn't very succesfull (we didn't see any of the cats), especially the early morning drive on day 2, but we were in low season when animals can easily hide behind green bushes. On top of that, there was only 1 other Jeep to communicate with. You do have the beautiful park almost for yourself which is a great feeling. We did see a variety of different animals, but few in amount. We saw buffalo's which were quite rare to spot in January. In general expect to see less animals than Serengeti. The banda we stayed in was perfect. It was a wonderful experience hearing all the sounds from the wildlife surrounding you at night. Don't forget to look up at the sky filled with stars. Meals were provided in the guest house a few minutes drive away. We ate all meals in what seemed like a living room which lacked atmosphere. In the evening during diner the tv was on playing a Chinese movie very loudly and it was only us eating. We were disappointed with the setting as it all felt a bit awkward. Maybe in high season this is arranged differently. The second day we didn't eat lunch (this was supposed to be at the picnic site within the park) as stated in the itinerary but instead went straight back to Iringa after game driving. This was not communicated to us nor compensated. We only realised afterwards. Otherwise the itinerary was followed neatly. Overall we had a nice trip for what we think was a really good price.

          An amazing safari experience.
An amazing safari experience. We saw multiple lions the first day and lots of other beautiful animals throughout our stay. The park is beautiful, the staff at Kitonga were very friendly - our driver and guide gave us fantastic drives, they had good eyes for spotting animals. Most of the time we had the animals for ourselves. The banda huts we srayed at could use an upgrade.

Fantastic safari in Ruaha National Park!
I had a fantastic safari in Ruaha National Park with Kitonga Tours! I saw so much in my one day trip leaving from Iringa – elephants, giraffes, zebras, crocodiles, ostriches and even several lions up close. Our guide and driver did a fantastic job in leading the trip and showing us the best spots, and Paul from the office was also very helpful in finding a group that I could join as a solo traveller. Highly recommended!

          A wonderful trip
Following a trek up Kilimanjaro I was looking for a short 3 days safari. From my first contact with Gerald the communication went without fault. It was decided to visit Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara with 2 nights accommodation. I was picked up by Gerald and the Moses exactly on time to begin the adventure. It was a couple of hours before arriving at the park. A couple of hours were then spent observing elephants, zebras, giraffes before stopping for lunch. The picnic area has some occupants that are very mischievous and will try to take your lunch especially apples. Beware of the monkeys. During the afternoon the sighting of a cheetah was a bonus. We then continued to the overnight accommodation which was in a superb location, the staff were friendly and helpful. The next day we travelled to the Ngorongoro crater where there were lions, hippos, wildebeest. The black rino was seen at a distance. Back to the accommodation for another night. The last day was spent at Lake Manyara before being dropped off at the airport. Gerald and Moses were helpful and courteous throughout the trip. Thank you very much and I would recommend them for your future travel to Tanzania.

A real adventure to Northern circuit of Tanzania.
We booked with Kitonga Tours and safaris at the last minute following a recommendation from our friends. They provided a safaris from Moshi to Serengeti via Tarangire,Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro for 5days. The driver guide was very professional, helpful and knowledgeable. The company booked very nice accomodations for us and they offered us Materuni tour for free, and transport back to airport. It was real adventure to us. We recommend other travelers to book with this tour company.

Paul organised our trip from our departure in Dar Es Salaam, over Iringa Town through Ruaha National Park, Udzungwa Mountains, and back to Dar Es Salaam. The communication was clear and he listened carefully to our wishes and needs. Driver Godfrey drove us in a comfortable bus safe all the way. In the National parks, we did lovely safaris in comfortable 4x4 vehicles. The guides (Paul and Alex) showed us the most beautifull corners of the park, and the animals living in the park. There was more than enough drinks and food was delicious. We expierienced very good service, value for money! I can really recommend this company over all.
