Had a fantastic experience with these guys, we were lucky enough to spot some dugongs on our trip as well as humpback and bottle neck dolphins. We went swimming at the beautiful Pelican Sandy Bay, and the team was wonderful. Highly recommend booking a tour with these guys!

The trip was great, really professional and friendly staff. Lovely boat, safety was important. We had a wonderful experience out on the water and even saw a dugong and turtle in the wild. Got to swim at Fraser shores. Affordable for a family day out.

Water was beautiful! We didn’t get to see any dolphins yesterday but we did get to see the rare dugong and a turtle! Great service and experience overall. Their knowledge of the bay and K’gari were amazing!

On Sunday, I hopped in the car at 4:30am to drive 3hrs with my 3.5 year old son to Hervey Bay to take this tour with Blue Dolphin. To say we had a great time is an understatement. We boarded the vessel and my son was the only young child on board, he is very outgoing and adventurous so he made friends almost instantly with some lovely backpackers and anyone else who would listen. We spotted several dolphins and one even popped up right in front of us which was amazing. We also had the pleasure of spotting a dugong right alongside their dolphin friend (super cute). The best part was Pelican Beach and jumping off the boat and swimming in the crystal clear waters, absolutely immersed in the moment and sharing such a special time with my son. The food was great, Cassie was informative, friendly, and accommodating (even helping me get back onto the boat by holding my son’s hand as she helped him up the stairs). Captain Anika (who was friendly, professional, and engaging) was an absolute delight also. The passion and care they both have for their environment is not overshadowed by the wonderful and exciting day out they provide. On the return leg my son had a nap under his towel on top of the catamaran which was just as special as any other moment we shared on board as he was clearly relaxed (exhausted from all of the fun) and comfortable. We will be back again and I highly recommend anyone visiting, or a local, to enjoy a day out with friends, family, or even alone, and treat yourself to some genuine time out. While the conditions were a bit windy the captain and crew took every avenue to make this sunset sail as safe and enjoyable as humanly possible. Very extensive knowledge of the area and very warm and friendly. They exceeded all our expectations.

Peter and the crew are fantastic. The catamaran is the perfect calm way to see wildlife and Peter's approach is not to rush the animals but seek them out and let them come to the boat - which they did! Peter clearly knows the area extremely well and his commentary throughout the cruise was very informative. Morning tea was delish and the swim at a sand island was just wonderful.

We had friends visiting. They had not been to Hervey before. What better way to show them the area than by doing a sunset champagne sail. It was locely. Its very good value, a small group, endless nibblies and drinks. The crew are lovely, friendly and professional. What makes this experience special is that its so relaxing because there is no on going commentary, just peaceful sailing to watch the sunset.

Amazing, this was my second enjoyable experience doing the champagne sunset cruise with the warm hospitable staff on Blue Dolphin cruises, and it won’t be my last , a must for all visitors to the bay, thank you very very much , kindest regards Jo 🥰

Fantastic trip across the bay with a bonus swim and dolphins. We missed our sunset cruise so did the day trip instead. The team were most accommodating.

An 8hr day was fun and very interesting. The skipper was very knowledgeable, giving us a lot of information that I didn't know about whales. The crew were very friendly and morning tea was good , and lunch was superb.

A glorious day on the water following 5 different whale pods. Not the calmest waters. But truly worth doing. The whales put on quite a show. Perfectly impressed.

Peter is very good at finding whales. He showed us 4 or 5 active pods close up. We had a great day. We saw calves jumping out of the water and adults fin slapping. We also followed one chase pod doing about 10 knots through the water.

We have been going on this tour for about 8 or 9 years. We would not go on any other vessel because we have never had a bad experience. I know you are dealing with wild animals and you are not supposed to always expect top notch experiences because they are wild animals but we have never missed out. We love how invested and excited Peter and his crew get with every encounter. This year I honestly think they were just as thrilled with our day out as the people on the boat. Their passion shows. And that passion makes them exceptional hosts. All I can say is do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Wow - first time whale watchers an amazing day - so many whales a memorable experience. A very knowledgeable and experienced crew made it a perfect day. I'm coming back for more.
