        Great day
We sent for K'gari, and expected to see spots og the Island that was not crauted with People, and had an absolutly great tour. Unfortunately we did not go snorkling as all good snorling places were muddy, because of heavy rain the last weeks. Instead we had good time to enjoy the rest of the activities, which were plenty.

The perfect combination of sight seeing and adventure
This trip was the perfect combination of sight seeing and adventure, the guides were so friendly and knowledgeable, it just felt like a day out with friends. We had the best time, tubing was unreal. We would definitely do the whole day again!

        Thar’ She Blows!
Firstly, apologies for the late review! An amazing day out on the water seeing the wildlife and enjoying some of the beaches on Fraser Islands west shore. Had mainly chosen the tour for the Humpback Whales and we were not disappointed. We were late in the season and the weather was a “bit fresh” but still saw Mothers and Calves, would definitely plan to come back another time, early in the season when the chances of closer encounters or even being able to get in the water with them are better. Also spent some time ashore, walking the (almost) deserted beaches, canoeing in the creeks and climbing Sand Dunes (hard going but with the view from the top). Transfers to the beach are by boat but the crew kept tabs on everyone and ensured that everyone could do things at their own pace. Food and drinks served throughout, definitely a tour for the wildlife lovers with a bit of adventure thrown in!

        I could marry K'gari
What an insane place. The location and tour itself were a 5/5. We saw turtles and sharks. Went kayaking swimming and all at a relaxing and super fun pace. The guides on our tour made the experience 6/5 though. Cassie, Angus, Jackson and expert boat captain man whoms name I didnt catch were all super cool, kind and fun. They are great at their job and probably deserve a raise. Thanks tasman ventures :)

        Outstanding island
An outstanding experience. The day is packed with activities led by an awesome, knowledgeable and engaging crew. You do have plenty of time in each stage to enjoy the island and soak in the nature, the island offers so much. Along the way we encountered dolphins, dingos, turtles and a variety of sealife when snorkeling. We were out of whale season (make sure you check). The buffet was tasty with lots of salads on offer and cold beer (paid for) washes away that island sun. We would strongly recommend this experience as we are interested in returning.

Awesome day trip and great way to see the island and experience it!!
Awesome day, I didn’t want it to end! Staff very attentive and super friendly and just did a fantastic job with all age groups and abilities!! They serve Tea twice and a beautiful lunch and had vegetarian options! Loved that I got to kayak and snorkel (first time snorkeling a mangrove forest), it was very well organized and they kept you as busy as you wanted!! Three stops on the island to explore, each remarkably beautiful and isolated! Saw dolphins and dingos! Highly recommend this operator and boat!!

Hervey Bay K’gari full day nature soooo great
The day was truly amazing and it was a full day Toni , Cassie and the skipper were all exceptional. I think we had a medium sized group on a perfect weather day. Toni insights above the Fresh Water Creek on our kayaking adventure were inspirational. I would highly recommend this trip and this company. Lots of food. Hotel pick time was great. Great mixture of nationalities and people thanks from Will (Canada)

        An amazing day
Canoeing, exploring, climbing and tubing while being extremely well looked after. Snorkelling was offered, but visibility wasn't great, so we passed on that and enjoyed the shoreline instead. Happily, the dingoes, dolphins, turtles and rays were all on display for us too.

We were in Australia for a month from.uk..did a lot of trips. This was by far the best..a day we will never forget..and most car
This was one of best trips have ever been on..totally amazing day..we went kayaking through mangroves, along creeks..swimming in creeks walking along powder soft sand.My husband and I are in late 60s and not most mobile but the crew were wonderful. Rhys, damo and catolina, ( may have spelt wrong).-looked after us wonderfully..we hadn't snorkled before and my flippers kept getting stuck in sand..which was hilarious so we got back in boat. Cannot recommend this trip highly enough. Lunch was lovely ect. Can guarantee if you do this trip you will enjoy whole day

Best day trip off Sunshine Coast
The most incredible day on Fraser Island. Can’t recommend the tour highly enough. Outstanding value for money especially with the group discount we got (10 people). They took us from one activity to the next and we felt like the day was packed with activities. And best of all Maddy the team member watched our 4 year old daughter in the ocean for more than an hour while we snorkeled. That’s serious service!!!

        Disappointing and over commercialised
Unfortunately this tour, for us, wasn’t all it was made out to be. They cancelled the next two days of tours after our booked date due to weather so we had a very crammed boat from those cancellations being moved to our date. It felt like just a very long time spent on a busy boat with not that much time to do the activities due to getting through the numbers and a lack of equipment and staff to cater for everyone to have enough time on the activities. We travelled for a couple of hours before we made the first of two stops, the first activity here was to snorkel which was about 15 minutes then kayaked in the basically the same location which could be no more than 10 minutes of kayaking up a creek then back again…Then we got back on the boat where another couple of hours travelling took us to a large sand bar island, here we spent probably an hour where we could kayak then queue for a long time to have a go on the inflatable tube - a five minute ride which was probably the most exhilarating part of the day. This could have been a great day but it basically was over commercialised with the company thinking more about how many people they could cram in and line their pockets with rather than the experience they were providing. It felt like a military operation to get everyone at the right activity at the right time when we were at location before we were quickly ushered to the next part. It may have worked if they had more equipment and staff to provide people with longer opportunity at the activities but this definitely isn’t the tour that we were expecting which is a shame. On the plus side we saw plenty of dolphins and turtles!

Easy way to soak up the sun in this gorgeous location
Highly recommend this tour. Despite bad weather the team were able to move us to the next available day and weather was perfect. This tour runs the West Coast of Fraser Island and would be a nice compliment if you have done other East Coast tours. Very relaxing and ideal way to see the sites. Easier than bumping over sand dunes too! Thanks to Harmony, Reece, Daimo, Paul and the team for making our day so much fun! Have to come back to see the whales next time 👍

We had a fantastic time. The narrator was quite knowledgeable and got excited every time we came across a whale. We were fortunate to see plenty of whales real close. The whales seemed to be as interested in us as we were about them. We highly recommend this company

Thank you for recommending Tasman Venture and the half day Whale Watching Encounter. Yes, sometimes we are not sure who is the more inquisitive...are the whales more interested in us, or are we more interested in them? They certainly like to put on a great show for our guests and it sounds like you had plenty to see on our trip.

I have been whale watching before in Hervey Bay, but this one was the best ever. We saw lots of whales in the morning and a few came over to the boat but didn’t stay long. After lunch the captain wanted to try an area away from the other boats and it was spectacular, 3 whales stayed with us going around the boat and coming up in different spots for over an hour. It was fantastic. Can highly recommend Freedom 111 for anyone wanting to see whales up close and personal, watch out if you have small kids the captain likes to feed them to the whales 🤣😂😅 he was a character. Wearing red clothes apparently is also good as the whales seem to like the colour 🥰

This was my second whale watching trip from Hervey Bay. I can't remember the name of the first one, but it was good. The big difference with Tasman Venture was the smaller numbers on board and the excellent, professional staff on board! Vic was VERY passionate and knowledgeable with everything WHALES! We saw lots of whales up close that were breaching and "slapping" with their fins! A couple of times they came right up beside the boat - and this was the first week of the season!!!
Also loved the morning tea and cheese and crackers - you could have as much as you wanted! Free coffee and tea was also appreciated! The boat was very comfortable even when the bay was getting a little rough. I think Tasman Venture was excellent value for money and would highly recommend this tour to all! xo

We travelled with Tasman Ventures on 15/07 on a 1.30 whale watching experience. Living on the GC we have experienced many whale watching experiences, we were really impressed by this small crew, the detail of the commentary and the hosting crew was just excellent. It was a busy time for them as coming in for the blessing of the whales ceremony , they had a lot to do and it did not take away from their genuine interest and warm nature towards their passengers. I called up the next day to share my praise and ask their names. I believe they were Harmony and Leah. Honestly impressive and an asset to the company. The complimentary afternoon tea and nibbles were an additional unexpected bonus. The still waters when we stopped was perfect for watching the whales and with the returning travellers discount ,we are going to return this season as it would be great to see them when more are arriving and watching them play. Thankyou for a great experience.

We enjoyed two trips with Tasman adventure. First day we saw several pods and a couple of breachings. Second day additionally two whales mugging around the boat and checking us out. Very close and exiting sightings. After three trips in the Arctic, two to Antarctica and Alaska, one to around Baja California and Hawaii we believe this is a world class whale watching destination if not the best. We liked the size of the catamaran, not too big but still big enough for a comfortable trip. Staff and service were excellent and Vic´s very knowledgeable explanations made it a wonderful experience.

Thank you Reuben and Ramona for your wonderful review and for travelling with Tasman Venture not once...but twice! You both sound like very seasoned travellers and have been to some truly amazing destinations. To say that you believe Hervey Bay is a world class whale watching destination, if not the best, is music to our ears. We are of course biased and totally agree with you, but it is always lovely to hear this from our guests. Hopefully we will see you again in the future and we can take you out on the half day whale watching trip for a third time. Safe travels.

Vessel was clean and comfortable. Not a lot of whales around on this afternoon but our skipper Scott was on it. He managed to find a very inquisitive whale who did it all- breaching, pop ups and coming in close to the boat. The information commentary was spot on too. Great work team

What an incredible trip! One of our party was in a wheelchair and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful and ensuring she was comfortable and had full views of the whales and orientated the boat doing 360 rotations so all persons could see. The captain did an excellent job of locating the whales and spending time where they were breaching and tail slapping the water. The commentator was incredibly informative and knowledgeable teaching us all about the humpback whales and their behaviours.
We were provided plenty of lovely food and warm drinks and all staff were absolutely wonderful.
A memorable trip and beautiful 1/2 day on the water, will definitely do this trip again and recommend to others.

There are a number of half day Whale Watching tours available, however only one gives you more. Freedom Whale Watch while it is advertised as a half day tour you don't have to be back in time to have the same craft going back out for another half day tour. On our tour last week we left before 10am and didn't get back until 5pm! The morning Whale Watching was rather quiet, we only saw 2 mothers and calves.
After lunch (which was great) we then saw many whales. The last Whale experience was hands down the best. About 3pm we had a couple of whales who spent about 45 minutes just circling the boat. It was only when they moved off that Freedom III started back to land, a full day tour, it was totally memorable and great value as well.

What a fantastic experience. I was excited to see the whales at a distance and then they came right up to the boat. Vicki was very experienced in her knowledge of the whales and gave us so much information. The crew did a great job keeping the boat as smooth as possible- even when the whales swam underneath us. I will come again.
