Val Cartier- Ice Hotel
Feb. 2020 • Friends
A friend and and I stayed one night at the Ice Hotel. It is an over rated experience...

I ate at one of the in-house restaurants (ate poutine)and got violently ill. The hotel staff were rude and basically thought I was a liar and took ZERO responsibility for me getting sick. Even the VP, Pierre, had ZERO compassion.

I ended up spending $700 for what was supposed to be a lifetime experience, to a nightmare.

If your wanting to get quality customer service for an evening of memories, i would suggest another experience to spend your $$$ on.

Ice hotel

The ice hotel is a must see when going to the city of Quebec. The hotel is made of snow with ice sculptures and beds made of ice. The bar is sculptured of ice even the glasses that the drinks are served are ice glasses. You also have the option of visiting and staying in a traditional hotel or for the adventurous stay the night on a bed of ice.
The hotel also has some nice tubing areas for all ages. Another option is just a day visit to the hotel

Tour hotel de glacé
Dec. 2019 • Family
If you are thinking this is an ice hotel in the middle of no where you may want to skip. This was a packed tour bus from old Quebec to an indoor water park and tubing facility and condos that the ice hotel is attached to. Tons of people in the ice hotel all wanting to take pictures. Was cool to see the sculpture but really couldn’t wait to get back to old Quebec. Check that one off the list and keep it moving. If you have young kids it’s probably a fun place. $109 for two people

City Tour and Ice Castle
Mar. 2019 • Solo
In the morning I went on the city tour - a bus tour with an amazing guide, Elaine (not sure if I spelled her name correctly), who had also been my tour guide when I went to the falls. She was very kind and knowledgable and I would recommend the tour to anyone, especially if you come in the winter/spring and don't want to be walking outdoors the whole time. For the Ice Hotel Tour, it was in the afternoon and I had time to grab lunch between the two tours, which was great. The Ice Hotel was amazing - but make sure you dress VERY WARMLY!
