Explore the famous Three Sisters rock formation by sea kayak! Spectacular Cape Chignecto Wilderness Park has been rated the number one kayaking destination in Nova Scotia by guidebooks and magazines alike. Don't miss the opportunity to paddle this incredibly scenic and wild coastline with an experienced, informative and fun guide. Launching from the red sands at Spicer's Cove, the cliffs become increasingly dramatic as you paddle further along the park's shoreline, and you might spot seals and eagles along the way. The highlights of this tour include the famous Three Sisters sea stacks, a natural amphitheatre that nicely amplifies your voice, lava tubes and other evidence of the separation of the continents, a small sea cave, steep red cliffs and holes-in-the-rock.
  • Kayak along the coast and see the Three Sisters rock formations up close
  • 2-person kayaks make this a family-friendly option
  • All safety equipment provided for a hassle-free experience
  • Refuel with a picnic lunch on the beach; vegetarian options available
What to Expect
Your tour begins at the office of NovaShores Adventures in Advocate Harbor, where you collect your life jacket, sprayskirt, and dry bags. From there, drive independently to Cape Chignecto Park, where you’ll meet your guide on the beach of Spicer’s Cove. After some safety instructions from your guide, board your double kayak and practice steering in the water. Paddle along the coastline while your guide provides background on the geology, tides, ecology, and history of the park. See the Three Sisters rock formations, and then stop for a picnic on the beach, enjoying time to explore independently. Food options include salad, bread, fruit, and muffins. Observe the dramatic tide change as you hop back in your kayak and return to Spicer’s Cove. Leave the gear with your guide, and your tour is complete.
