Overview
Get up close with the killer whales off Vancouver Island on this guided, 3-hour, small-group whale-watching cruise. Climb aboard one of the best whaling vessels in the industry to interact with a variety of whale species. The summertime trip includes an exclusive whale guarantee. In the event whales are not sighted, receive a partial cash refund from the initial ticket cost and the offer of a second trip free of charge. Some restrictions apply.
What to Expect
Friendly guest service agents will check-in you and your party 30 minutes before departure, which is when you will be told about the current weather conditions and animal reports/sightings. One of the experienced and passionate captains will then prepare you for your west coast adventure by suiting you with one of the high end survival suits (if required) and safety brief on the conditions and your vessel (safety is always first!) There are many potential marine species to encounter on your 3-4 hour trip.

The priority on every tour is to interact with Orca (Killer Whales), along with as many other cetacean (whale) species. Your crew achieves this by going the distance required to interact with them, which some days can be further away. This is one of the main reasons for the custom made the vessels - to ensure you'll cover long distances quickly, comfortably and safely. All of the captains are highly trained and internationally experienced when it comes to marine ecosystems, which ensures the west coast adventure is highly educational as well as exhilarating.

In order to be prepared for your tour, please bring an extra layer of clothing, along with some food and water – all vessels have plenty space on them for storing such items. Please make sure you check into the office location at least 30 minutes prior to your trip departure.

Worth checking the sighting reports on the website for BC whale watching tours as this will highlight what they are seeing every day. However as with any wildlife experience, nothing can ever be truly guaranteed.

I’m unsure, but we didn’t get to see any ourselves. They travel in pods and so, it depends where they’re feeding. We booked BC Tours as their boats are fast and small so you cover more ground and get closer.
