- This tour is not recommended for young children: The Wildlife Tour is typically geared more towards adults, providing educational commentary along the way. While wildlife sightings are frequent, the experience differs significantly from a zoo visit. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals, sightings occur intermittently during the 3-hour tour and vary from day to day. Based on our observations, young children often become restless as there are no scheduled stops on this vehicle-based tour. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Although not recommended, children and infants under 5 years old are welcome, provided a seat is purchased for them at the child rate (all passengers regardless of age are required to be allocated a seat on the bus). For those bringing infants, we recommend bringing a baby carrier which can be secured with the provided seat belts on our buses.
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
- This experience requires a minimum number of travellers. If it’s cancelled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund

- 1As you meander slowly down the valley, you gaze out large windows while passing stunning views of the mountains and surrounding wilderness to capture your memories through a photograph from either inside of the minibus or occasionally by a short walk at the discretion of your guide. Your local guide uses their expertise to select the route based on seasonal wildlife movements, increasing your chances of encounters. Along the way, you learn valuable insights into the challenges of managing and protecting wildlife within the national park. Our guide is eager to answer your questions as they passionately share the magic of Jasper’s wild side, bringing the stories of the animals to life. Jasper National Park is a wild and natural environment. While wildlife sightings are frequent, every day is unique. We succeed in spotting wildlife on 95% of our tours.

- bethrY1746GI0 contributionsHow to ride the rapidsGuides were very saftey conscious. I did not appreciate the manufactured water fight at the end of the ride. The rapids were just enough to get your heart pumping.Written 7 August 2024
- 704stella0 contributionsGreat TourThis was a fantastic trip where we got so much packed into one trip - waterfalls, lakes, wildlife and a boat trip on Maligne Lake. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and mature. We had younger and less experienced guides on other tours (including the boat ride) who were fine, but this guide was a step above. He showed us everything, was attentive to our needs, worked really hard to find us wildlife (we saw a bear, a moose, eagles, marmot, and a dear) and provided an incredible wealth of information. We could not have been happier or more appreciative.Written 1 August 2024
- timothybX5931OI0 contributionsWildlife TourSam did an excellent job driving us around and seeing the animals in Jasper National Park. It was a great tour. I was really sad about the wildfire which came through on Monday. Our trip was excellent!Written 28 July 2024
- triciau20240 contributionsGrateful for my time in JasperI had a wonderful day with Jamie as my guide. I learned so much about the area, got the chance to see some wildlife and amazing views, and enjoyed the pace of the trip. Specifically, I enjoyed getting off the bus for a short hike at the canyon and the boat ride on Maligne Lake among other stops. Thank you for a great day! My thoughts are still with everyone in Jasper as I am deeply saddened to hear about the devastation with the wildfires. The park is truly a gem.Written 26 July 2024
- SapphireRoseG0 contributionsExtreme Discomfort on Sweltering VanDo not recommend this tour as the company cares nothing about your comfort as they claim on their advertisement. They operated on an extremely hot day that was close to 100 degrees F with a broken air conditioner. When returning to the van after hikes, etc., the van was scorching hot and everyone needed to wait for it to "cool" somewhat. This was totally unacceptable. Unless they start to maintain their equipment as they should, recommend to stay far away! Tour guide was very knowledgeable but spoke the entire time which became annoying after a number of hours and added additional stress to an already highly uncomfortable situation.Written 26 July 2024

A great tour that I would throughly recommend. We were picked up from our hotel by our guide Ross. The bus was clean including windows which are important on a wildlife tour. Within the first 10 min our guide had found a Grizzly walking along the highway and from there wildlife just kept coming we saw Black Bears, Elk, Marmots, and Bald Eagles. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and clearly passionate about the wildlife . I could have listened to him all day. Due to his skill and local knowledge we had a fantastic tour and I would recommend 100%

Thank you for joining Maligne Adventures for all your Wildlife experiences! We really appreciate the great compliment on how well Ross did cleaning the bus and during the tour! I am glad you found the information useful and it kept you entertained during the 3 hour vehicle based tour. I booked an early morning wildlife tour online from the UK prior to coming out to Canada for our road trip around the Rockies. Booking was incredibly easy and straightforward and I received updates by email as the planned trip approached. We were due to be collected from our hotel at 8.30am and the tour minibus arrived spot on time. Our guide and driver Sam was fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and interesting. He took us to some locations we have never visited around Jasper before and found a huge variety of wildlife. If there wasn’t a particular animal in a particular place as he expected, Sam gave us tips as to when would be the best time to see them and where so we could re-visit later. We did this and were successful in seeing a pair of grizzly bears. We would highly recommend booking with Maligne.

We had the most amazing wildlife tour with Sam. He was so knowledgeable about all of the local animals (and more!) and really determined to find them - we saw elk, sheep and 3 grizzly bears (one cub!). Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting Jasper and wanting to spot wildlife and find out more about the local area. Pick up and drop off to our campground was a bonus!

Terrible experience. A real tourist trap. The bus driver took the main road from Jasper to Maligne Lake. We saw two deer (very common, we had also seen them the previous days on the roadside) and a family of marmots (even those that were easily spotted). But the truly incredible thing is that the driver showed us a spot on the lawn (it seems to be on the side of the road) where the grass was flattened, claiming that a bear had passed there and he started acting like a bear himself! The bear eating berries. We can only call it a scam. I believed that Canadians were a serious people. - Bad experience. A real tourist trap. Good guide with lots of explanation on park animals. Comfortable bus. Unfortunately that morning we could only see one eagle and two female elk (whilst the entire bus was of course eager to find bears). We’ve had more success driving in the park on our own in following days.

Good morning
Thank you for taking the time to review your recent Wildlife Tour. Sorry to hear that we weren't able to locate any bears for you to observe. Those wild critters have a mind of their own and can be elusive no matter how hard our guides work to find them for you. Great that you found the tour informative on the habits and habitats of our Park wildlife.
Regards

What a great way to spend a morning!
We booked through Maligne tours as we had very little time in Jasper and we wanted to see as much as we could. The company did not disappoint! Our guide, Sam, took us to some really cool locations which were off the beaten track. He was absolutely fantastic and is obviously really knowledgable and passionate about what he does, he used the short time available to share his knowledge of both the flora and fauna of Jasper as well as some history of the area which left us all feeling a lot more educated.
The tour itself was awesome, we managed to see some massive elk as well as a bald eagle and an osprey.
All in all it was a great morning and one that I would recommend to anyone visiting the area! Thanks again Sam!

A truly magical experience that we’ll remember for ever. Towards the end of our tour we saw a female Grizzly and her 2 cubs and we watched them for about 20 mins. It was beautiful and Jake was the perfect host, knowledgeable, humorous with the ongoing tenacity to locate the animals for us. Wonderful!!

We did the tour and funny enough had a tour guide from our home country Austria. We really enjoyed the 3 hours drive through the national park, not only because we saw a bear family but also because we learned a lot about the animals living in the park and Canada itself.
It’s absolutely worth it and we would do it again!

Our tour guide, Jake, was excellent - he knew so much about the area and all that we saw. We were collected promptly and as we drove down to pick up the other members of our party we saw deer. Jake had had a report of a bear feasting on a dead deer and was able to pinpoint the area and take us. Jake was also concerned about cyclists in the area, warning them that there was a bear with its prey. We later saw coyote pups (very cute), longhorn sheep and elk. The time went too quickly and we absolutely loved the whole experience. We would highly recommend the wildlife trip.

Thank you for sharing your detailed and glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that Jake provided you with an excellent tour experience, showcasing his deep knowledge of the area and wildlife.
It sounds like you had an eventful tour, beginning with the prompt collection and an early deer sighting. Jake's ability to locate the bear feasting on a deer, as well as his concern for the safety of cyclists, demonstrates his dedication to both wildlife and visitor safety.
Spotting coyote pups, longhorn sheep, and elk must have been incredible, and we're delighted that you enjoyed every moment of the tour. Your recommendation means a lot to us.

We had a brilliant time with Kelli this morning. She was extremely knowledgeable on the local wildlife, landscapes, environmental challenges and indigenous cultures. We were fortunate to see a Grizzly with two cubs and were able to watch for maybe 30mins. Also saw plenty of deer and Elk.
