About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- bethrY1746GI0 contributionsHow to ride the rapidsGuides were very saftey conscious. I did not appreciate the manufactured water fight at the end of the ride. The rapids were just enough to get your heart pumping.Written 7 August 2024
- 704stella0 contributionsGreat TourThis was a fantastic trip where we got so much packed into one trip - waterfalls, lakes, wildlife and a boat trip on Maligne Lake. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and mature. We had younger and less experienced guides on other tours (including the boat ride) who were fine, but this guide was a step above. He showed us everything, was attentive to our needs, worked really hard to find us wildlife (we saw a bear, a moose, eagles, marmot, and a dear) and provided an incredible wealth of information. We could not have been happier or more appreciative.Written 1 August 2024
- timothybX5931OI0 contributionsWildlife TourSam did an excellent job driving us around and seeing the animals in Jasper National Park. It was a great tour. I was really sad about the wildfire which came through on Monday. Our trip was excellent!Written 28 July 2024

- WanderingScott0 contributionsUnmissable wildlife tourOur guide was amazing - saw loads of wildlife including deer, elk, marmots, moose, bald eagle chicks and grouse and chicks. Sam was our guide and was incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic. My family of four (2 children 11 and 7) enjoyed the entire trip. We saw a mama black bear and two cubs, multiple elk and bull elk and some calves, 2 moose, a white tailed buck, and two immature bald eagles. I’m so glad I booked this tour! Ross was an extremely knowledgeable guide-in fact, they probably couldn’t have picked a better person! He knows everything about Jasper. We stopped at Maligne Canyon, learned about some history, ecology, and geology, had time to enjoy and photograph the area, and then made the drive up to the lake. We learned tons about all the large animals in the area, and saw two bears and a couple deer, which was exciting. I loved that someone else does the driving and I can just enjoy the scenery. The boat ride was amazing and I think it’s the most beautiful and majestic place I’ve ever been to. On the drive back down, Ross told us a few good stories about certain spots we were driving past, and we made a quick stop at Medicine Lake and a scenic viewpoint. As well he had great recommendations for hiking trails or where to view the most wildlife.
Highly recommend! It’s so nice to just sit back and let someone take care of the itinerary and driving for a few hours. Thanks for the great day.

What a really fun way to spend a day in Jasper, my wife and I had a fantastic time. If you are in Jasper and want to check out the area with out searching for parking or hiking for hours this is a great way to do it. Our tour guide was Kelly and she was amazing, due to COVID19 we were a very small group of 7, and knowledgeable about everything you saw. Kelly has a great way about her, easy going and excited about everything around us, she truly loves what she is doing and it shows.
You start off getting picked up at your hotel, on time, then make your way to Maligne Lake for the boat tour, along the way Kelly told us about the local history of Jasper, economy, etc. then goes into the wild life and ecological areas you are going through. I don't want to spoil anything however, I do consider myself some what of a nature nut and Kelly knew stuff I had not clue about.
I can't recommend this tour highly enough, I would do it again just for fun and I'd like to thank Kelly for a wonderful day. My only regret is due to COVID19 we had no cash on us and couldn't tip Kelly, we tried to get her contact info so we could transfer her a tip and she wouldn't have it, Kelly said her tip was bringing us on this journey and that we were the reason she was able to have this excellent job.

We had a fantastic time on this tour with Kelli. She was so knowledgeable and she clearly has a passion for ecology and Jasper National Park. She took every opportunity to search out wildlife for us and, in between searching for wildlife, we got to learn so much about the history of the park and environmental concerns it’s facing. Maligne lake was beautiful and we had a good amount of time to see spirit island and the surrounding glaciers. Our final stop, at maligne canyon was also a worthwhile site to see. I was very pleased with everything we got to see on the tour... the “icing on the cake” was all the knowledge we gained from our experienced and passionate tour guide.

This tour was a great way to experience Maligne Lake, Spirit Island and see several animals along the way. We were lucky enough to spot bears, elk, big horned sheep, bald eagles, mule deer and marmots. Our driver (I think his name was Tom) was knowledgable about where the best chances to spot wildlife would be and gave us time to photograph them (safely from inside the vehicle). Due to our numerous wildlife stops, we had less time to explore Maligne Lake (a fair trade off).
While the stop at Maligne Canyon was nice, it could have been 1/2 the time and we could have explored on our own. I wish we time at Medicine Lake as well, as we were only allowed a 2 minute photo op.
Our excellent boat captains were Delilah and Shauna. They were incredibly knowledgable about the geology as well as the indigenous history. They were able to answer any questions the group had. I do wish we had more than 15 minutes to spend looking at Spirit Island, but I understand they have to keep to a schedule.
Overall, I'd recommend this tour for someone who is interested in spotting wildlife (not sure we could have done it on our own!) and for those looking to see Spirit Island, as a cruise is the only way to see it.

Kelly was our tour guide and she made the experience very informative and enjoyable.
The bus ride was comfortable while she was explaining about the surrounding environment. We saw Elk, 4 types of dears, moose and a black bear. She stopped and made sure that we see them closely and take good pictures. The Maligne lake cruse was nice and Spirit island views are breathtaking. After that she took us to the Maligne lake canyon and we did the trail together and that was nice too. She picked us from our hotel and dropped us back there at the end. We loved the whole experience!

Well worth the time, we learned a lot about the lake, the history of the area and how the first person "Curly" who settled the area. The view of Spirt Island and the "Hall of the Gods" were amazing. Our tour guide Amelia was super knowledgeable of the area and really funny. She made it really enjoyable. Jordan was the ship captain and very friendly. Our family were very happy we took the time to go see the island. Also we went in June 2021 and it was not crowded which made it really private and felt secluded in the mountains which magnifies the Beauty of the mountains.

Favorite part of the trip is we that we got to sit back and relax. Although it was raining lightly and the temperature was around 8 degrees, we enjoyed the tour, our guide was experienced, friendly and a good driver. I Highly recommend the tour for those who want to see that part of Jasper, sit back and relax.

We had Sam and Jordan R. as our tour guides. It was a 1st time experience and we had a group of 7 people. We had a lot of laughs. Sam shared important information about the lake and the mountains and the native land. We would highly recommend this tour to any one. We also would encourage tourist to take a trip with Sam and Jordan they are so relaxed and easy to be in the company of. Thanks for the experience!

We had a wonderful tour with our guide/ driver. He was well informed about the area and the sights both from the vehicle and on the tour of the gorge and waterfall. He made sure his tour was boarded first on the boat ride and gave clear instructions as to meeting points. He also did his very best to give us the best views and photo time when we encountered elk, a cow moose and a family of bighorn sheep. He answered all our groups questions and was especially kind to a young boy.on the tour.

While the scenery was beyond beautiful, the best part if this tour was our guides. Our land guide Trevor was completely informed about the flora, fauna, geology and history of the area. Our lake guide Becca was funny and equally informative and our captain gave us a safe and fun journey out to Spirit Island and back. We would recommend this tour and these guides to everyone.

Someone mentioned the walk to canyon was steep - I’m not a strong walker ...should I be concerned?
Written 29 August 2019
If you are on the tour you will only be going to the first and second bridges and not to all six of them. The first one is relatively flat. There are a few inclines.. Going to the second bridge also involves an incline. However there is an alternative route from the parking lot to the second bridge that is shorter. Altogether the walking is less than a mile. Going on a walk with ski or walking poles are a great way to see the falls and still keep your balance on the pathways. Also contact the tour company to voice any of your concerns. The tour companies were very helpful.
